GENERAL NOTICE
The following is a general database file. Some information may be summarised and/or excluded.
Staff assigned to this anomaly are advised to refer to the researcher’s file for accurate information.
Item #: SCP-3924
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3924, and a two-kilometre radius surrounding it, has been registered as an off-limits region of the Lavinia Nature Reserve. This region has been fenced off and must be checked and/or maintained bi-weekly.
Personnel must maintain a distance of at least 200 metres from SCP-3924’s exterior outside the hours of 9:30 to 14:30, and 21:30 to 02:30, local time.
All anomalous entities, objects, and/or phenomena occurring within or emerging from SCP-3924 must be kept within 150 metres of SCP-3924 at all costs. If necessary, neutralisation of such anomalies and/or expenditure of D-Class personnel is authorised.
Description: SCP-3924 is an extensive underground facility located near the eastern shore of King Island (Tasmania), Australia. The external portion of SCP-3924 appears to be a Nazi German Regelbau bunker.1 Portions of the exterior show signs of mild to catastrophic damage of varying causes, and repairs and/or extensions of varying quality and composition.
It appears that, while the subterranean portion of SCP-3924 was initially a standard Regelbau bunker, the complex has been repeatedly added to an expanded using over 30 different identified architectural styles; in all cases the materials used an apparent intent of the additions varies wildly.
Several regions of the structure – all belonging to the ‘Alpha’ style architecture – utilise an unidentified substance that reflects all wavelengths of light, preventing standard non-invasive mapping techniques; as a result, it has been deemed necessary to conduct internal explorations to map the internal layout of SCP-3924.
In numerous cases SCP-3924 appears to have been modified for the explicit purpose of containing highly hazardous anomalous phenomena; due to lack of maintenance the vast majority of such containment measures have failed, resulting in SCP-3924 being inhabited by no less than 300 unique sub-anomalies.
SCP-3924 constantly undergoes a 24-hour manifestation-demanifestation cycle. Beginning at midday,2 the facility visibly blurs and fades until totally demanifesting at midnight, at which point the process reverses at the same rate. Personnel observing this phenomenon report that SCP-3924 appears to ‘fall’ while demanifesting and ‘rise’ while remanifesting, without undergoing any actual detectable motion.
Any object or entity within a 175 metre radius around SCP-3924 will also undergo this cycle; however, any such objects that are not within the SCP-3924 structure proper between the hours of 10:00 – 14:00 and 22:00 – 02:00 will universally be lost even if removed from the region, failing to remanifest with SCP-3924.
