Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: All instances of SCP-XXXX are to be kept in hermetically sealed titanium containers. Cases of SCP-XXXX-A must be isolated in rooms lined with titanium-vanadium alloy SCP-148, which has been shown to block the communication of SCP-XXXX-B. The rooms must also be examined weekly by structural engineers to ensure that they are not susceptible to [DATA EXPUNGED], typically resulting from isolation during Stage 3. Testing can only be performed by Level 4 Researchers Testing can only be conducted with O5 approval.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a highly adaptable virus originally discovered in [REDACTED], Canada. SCP-XXXX can adapt to resist heat, cold, and most vaccines. It is spread by most bodily fluids, but only in the case of a sexual act. Subjects infected will henceforth be referred to as SCP-XXXX-A. SCP-XXXX-A begins to progress through the following stages:

Stage 1, 1-2 days after exposure:

SCP-XXXX-A gains an increased desire to partake in sexual activities, with one or more people. These actions begin to take away time from nonessential activities in SCP-XXXX-A's life. SCP-XXXX-A gradually begins to lose control of itself, but is still conscious.

Stage 2, 3-5 days after exposure:

SCP-XXXX-A will begin to neglect eating and drinking, and start to search for targets to infect. If SCP-XXXX-A is not able to persuade a target to engage in a sexual act, it will proceed to subdue and rape them. Rape becomes more common later into infection because the subject's appearance degrades from malnutrition. SCP-XXXX-A is still completely conscious of its actions during these events but has no control over its body.

Stage 3, 6-10 days after exposure:

SCP-XXXX-A's searching for targets increases in veracity, and it begins to completely neglect eating and drinking. If the subjects does not spread SCP-XXXX at least once every 6 hours during this period, its body will [DATA EXPUNGED] causing SCP-XXXX to become airborne, infecting more subjects.

Stage 4, 7-11 days after exposure:

Approximately 24 hours after Stage 3 ends (if SCP-XXXX-A survives), SCP-XXXX-A's behavior will spontaneously change. SCP-XXXX-A regains control of its actions, and in all 90% of cases becomes a normally functioning human. Such subjects instantly experience extreme remorse from their actions (even if they possess a disorder that would normally negate remorse), and attempt to commit suicide. If they are not able to kill themselves, they will quickly enter a catatonic state, with no recovery.

In 10% of cases, SCP-XXXX-A will not regain control of its actions, and instead enter a catatonic state. SCP-XXXX-A's brain will rapidly reconfigure itself through unknown means, into a network of neurons not known to any animals on Earth. Studies suggest that it is intended to receive an unknown form of radiation by [DATA EXPUNGED]. SCP-XXXX-A will rapidly regain consciousness and is then simply a channel of communication for an entity designated SCP-XXXX-B. (See Incident XXXX-17)
Not much is currently known about SCP-XXXX-B, aside from the fact that it claims to be SCP-XXXX's creator.

Incident XXXX-17:

Routine testing was being conducted with D-1598, an Asian female with a history of prostitution.
D-1598 was deliberately infected with SCP-XXXX, and progressed normally until Stage 4, contained within a cube of titanium-vanadium alloy, with a microphone and camera. D-1598 entered a catatonic state and eventually reemerged, prompting the rewriting of documentation. D-1598 then attempted to converse with staff.

D-1598: Why do you keep me locked up?
