Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in an airtight container measuring one cubic meter and constructed of polypropylene and glass. SCP-XXXX Is to be kept under an infrared light at all times; this light bulb will be changed monthly. Plastic pipes with microporous filters lead into the glass box to supply SCP-XXXX with various gases. An airtight trapdoor is located on the side of the box; this is to be used to remove specimens. In the event of a containment breach, MTF units are advised to kill instances of SCP-XXXX on sight. SCP-XXXX can be contained with the use of infrared light.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a colony of mites that was discovered along the ███████ River in 19██ by Agent ██████. Instances of SCP-XXXX are biologically immortal, and thus far tests have shown that their growth will not cease; instances SCP-XXXX can double in size in a single hour. The largest instance of SCP-XXXX ever found was 2.1 meters long, 1 meter tall, and 0.56 meters in breadth. They are incapable of reproduction and growing if not supplied with oxygen, but will not die. SCP-XXXX is capable of extremely fast reproduction; the colony can triple in size in a week if left unattended. SCP-XXXX is extremely hostile to all life, and will kill its prey with its mandibles, which are almost the size of its body. Instances of SCP-XXXX are extremely intelligent; they are often observed "conversing" with each other and playing games. If placed under an infrared light, SCP-XXXX exerts docile behavior, and will release pheromones that make any nearby humanoids exert euphoria for up to two hours after exposure. If an instance of SCP-XXXX is exposed to barium, it will rapidly decompose into an unidentified radioactive element that can cause skin cancer, reproductive harm, [REDACTED], and other degenerative diseases to life forms exposed to it for prolonged periods.
