SCP XXXX Critiquing?

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within the boundaries of Storage Site-91 in a secured vault that is 6m by 6m and standard room height. No personnel may enter or leave the vault unless given permission by Dr.█████ ███. The room is to be kept at a constant temperature of 20° Celsius and room pressure of 1 ATM (NTP).

Testing of SCP-XXXX is further terminated, due to the possibility of a containment breach.

Description: Item SCP-XXXX is a set of major basic surgery equipment for general surgery. This includes the following surgical pieces: surgical table, scalpel, forceps, dilator, curette, retractor, scissors, surgical hook, bone chisel, needle holder, towel clip, intestinal clamps, aneurysm needle, periosteal elevator, and abdominal towel.

When a patient is being operated on, they will not feel any pain. However, SCP-XXXX randomly selects another human being within an approximately ten-kilometer proximity to project the pain of the same manner that the patient should be feeling. For a brief period of time, SCP-XXXX was believed to be a rather beneficial piece of equipment, as in this way no anesthesia was required, thereby saving costs and potential danger of anesthetic use. However this was until the other less obvious property was discovered, which was not as an immediate discovery as the lack of necessity for anesthesia due to its randomized nature, and the proposition that severe, sudden, unexplained pain would not so directly be traced back to supernaturally enhanced surgical equipment. SCP-XXXX seems to only affects homo sapiens, including SCPs with homo sapien DNA.

Addendum XXXX: SCP-XXXX was acquired by the SCP Foundation on December 4th, 20██. It was purchased from the ████████ Hospital in ██████████, Washington. At the time of this purchase, no explanation was given as to what SCP-XXXX’s anomalous properties were, and were later discovered by Dr. ██████ and Agent Joseph ██████. Due to the high appearance of patients in the emergency room with severe unexplained pains for which no source could be found upon medical testing, the SCP Foundation sent forth Agent Joseph ██████ and Agent Sophia ███ to investigate probable anomalous properties. In an attempt to test SCP-XXXX’s properties, Dr. ██████ and Agent Joseph ██████ ordered a D Class personnel to perform surgery on (as Dr. ██████ had been a surgeon previous of the recruitment of the SCP Foundation). As Dr. began the dissection of the D Class personnel, Agent Joseph ██████ reported excruciating pain in the appendix, the exact position where Dr. ██████ had been performing surgery. The surgery was immediately ceased, while further tests supported the idea that SCP-XXXX was the source of the pain. It should be noted that as the chances of the Agent being selected as the recipient of the pain have been calculated as merely 0.0000591. Though this figure is not abnormal in that it applies to every other subject of the pain transfers, the SCP Foundation found it strange that it should happen to Agent Joseph ██████ at the time of the investigation.

Addendum XXXX-2: Numerous victims of the pain transfers, before in uncertainty of their sourceless pains and subsequently admitted themselves into emergency rooms and were given lengthy medical bills, then approached the ████████ Hospital with lawsuits. As a result of this financial burden, the ████████ Hospital would have no longer been able to support itself, if it were not for the purchase of SCP-XXXX by the SCP Foundation. Although it is atypical of the Foundation to make a transaction for any SCP, the Foundation would not see to a hospital’s financial ruin due to an unfortunate encounter with an SCP.

Addendum XXXX-3: What is now known as Incident XXXX to the SCP Foundation occurred on On November 19th, 20██. A ██████████ █████ Airlines plane flying from ██████████, Washington and going to ███████, Nebraska crashed into the airport at 2:17 pm. The plane had not yet left Washington as it was still taking off on the ground. 11 people were harmed and 3 had severe injuries, but no one was killed. As the cause of this accident was unknown to the public, the pilot reported extreme unending pain in his stomach which cause him to lose control of the plane. Co-pilot Kate ███ attempted to regain control over the plane and was able to slow it down however it still collided with the airport building. Had ███ not acted as she did, many people would have been killed. Investigations carried out by the SCP Foundation found that at the hospital only 4km away, gastric bypass surgery was being performed. They allegedly concluded that SCP-XXXX was the source of the pain, however there was not enough proof for the Foundation to infer such a conclusion. It was only after when the Foundation received a call from the Hospital asking if they wanted to purchase the equipment did they get involved.
