Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Subjects infected by instances of SCP-XXXX are to be contained under standard quarantine protocols for parasitic infection. No further security is necessary.

Extensive efforts are to be taken to collect any instances of SCP-XXXX eggs in the wild and identify their source. As of yet ███ instances have been recovered by foundation personnel.

Description: SXP-XXXX is an unidentified species of parasitic cestodal flatworm. In most regards, SCP-XXXX is indistinguishable from Taenia saginata, or beef tapeworm. Unlike conventional tapeworms SCP-XXXX possesses an internal bladder and lacks reproductive organs. It is currently unknown how SCP-XXXX reproduces.

SCP-XXXX came to the Foundation's attention after agents embedded in local hospitals reported an unusual number of diagnoses of Anorexia in ███████, Iowa. Further investigation revealed almost all of those diagnosed had previously purchased dietary tapeworms from [REDACTED]. Physical examination revealed subjects had recently experienced major trauma of the intestine.

A Foundation raid revealed [REDACTED] to be a front for an unknown organization but led to the recovery of a sizable cache of SCP-XXXX eggs. It is currently unknown how to replicate these eggs, so researchers should exercise restraint when testing SCP-XXXX.

Like similar parasites, SCP-XXXX inhabits the stomach of it's host, extracting sustenance from it's hosts diet. Any excess is stored in SCP-XXXX's bladder as a nutrient rich liquid. SCP-XXXX also secretes hormones to promote the hosts appetite.

Through unknown means SCP-XXXX causes a radical shift in the hosts personality. Subjects exhibit a marked increase in self-esteem. Subjects previously suffering from eating disorders report new found satisfaction with their appearance.

This is believed to be SCP-XXXX's primary vector of infection. To date SCP-XXXX's eggs have only been found sold as a dietary supplement by the ████████ Corporation. Host's make specific reference to this corporation as a solution to others perceived weight problems, regardless of prior knowledge.
