Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be left untouched in its river in ██████, Tuscany. No attempts may be made to move or otherwise interact with it. It must be kept in constant surveillance by personnel in a nearby disguised water mill. No civilians or otherwise unauthorized persons, including anyone unaware of SCP-XXXX's properties may be allowed near the vicinity of the object. Any change or action of the object must be reported immediately to nearest site security and dealt with at the discretion of local on-duty personnel until further help or advice is supplied.

SCP-XXXX must be contained in a glass case 1.5m in length and .5m in width and depth. It must be kept constantly submerged in water from the river in which it was located. No attempts may be made to move or otherwise interact with it. The case must be kept in a 5m cubed underground chamber located at Site. Containment chamber must be outfitted with a functioning sprinkler system, activated in the event of containment breach. Any further early instances of SCP-XXXX-1 must be reported and contained in any ordinary holding cell and kept alive until symptoms subside or another solution is presented.

Clearance to SCP-XXXX is restricted to Level 2 or higher personnel, any entrance must be monitored to prevent interaction with SCP-XXXX and testing is to be discouraged.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a humanoid female with a slight blue skin coloration often associated with asphyxiation. Object is of unknown age and is yet to be determined as a living organism. Its hair is black and its eyes lack pigment (though its eyes are maintained shut for the duration of its dormant period). SCP-XXXX is dressed in a plain white evening gown that seems to "flow", along with hair, even in still water.

Any physical interaction with SCP-XXXX causes it to exit its dormant state and enter an agitated state in which its anomalous properties manifest. In its agitated state, SCP-XXXX will become seemingly incorporeal and fly unhindered by gravity or any laws of momentum and inertia. It will take on a soft blue glow and its face in the agitated state will resemble that of a constant infuriated scream, with furrowed brows, mouth open, and teeth barred. SCP-XXXX will also persistently wail, with occasional incoherent screams that seem to cause objects to will fly at random directions and speeds in an undetermined radius around SCP-XXXX. During events in which SCP-XXXX becomes agitated, water will bubble from previously nonexistent pores on the ground. Testing has linked the composition of the water produced to the composition of the water of the river in which SCP-XXXX was originally discovered.

These events will all continue until a male (seemingly chosen at random by SCP-XXXX, hereby referred to as SCP-XXXX-1) is forcefully pushed under the water and drowned, at which time many others may have already died due to projectiles created by the screams or drowning. The drowning of the male is ritualistic in nature, following the same pattern of chase, capture, dialogue, and murder. SCP-XXXX-1 will enter a trance-like state upon hearing the screams and attempt to escape by all means necessary. SCP-XXXX will eventually arrive at its target's location, breaking through any barriers necessary to get there, to grab and force him to face it. After a short dialogue between the two, SCP-XXXX-1 will be forcefully pushed into the water and held until drowned. After this process is complete, SCP-XXXX will close its eyes and lie onto the water and resume its dormant state.

The only known ways to affect SCP-XXXX in its agitated state is to introduce it to water other than water produced in its agitated state or to use fire against it. Either of these methods will slow and seemingly harm SCP-XXXX, but some argue that this further agitates it. SCP-XXXX has been agitated three (3) times, and there has been no instance in which SCP-XXXX-1 died before being caught by SCP-XXXX. There is no data on whether this affects SCP-XXXX's behavior or whether it is even possible.

Addendum1A: There has been a recorded case of an early instance of SCP-XXXX-1 in which Agent ███ reported seeing "signs" of SCP-XXXX prior to knowledge of its existence. He claimed to see the shape of a woman submerged in water while looking at clouds, scribbles, and other items often interpreted as shapes. These don't seem to be hallucinations, for some instances other agents or personnel near Agent ███ claimed that they "could see it". Whether this was due to interpretation or manipulation of said objects by SCP-XXXX is undetermined. Approximately a week after these symptoms began, Agent ███ became fixated with the idea of saving SCP-XXXX, claiming that "she" was drowning and needed saving. Eventually he was allowed access to SCP-XXXX for testing and attempted to pull it out of the water. This led to the third instance of SCP-XXXX entering its agitated state.

Addendum1B: Further investigation of events at ██████, Tuscany indicate a boy might have also been an early instance of SCP-XXXX-1, and was the cause of the first incident in which SCP-XXXX entered its agitated state, which lead the Foundation to find it in the first place.

Foreword: The following is a transcript of the recording of the conversation between Agent ███ and SCP-XXXX prior to his drowning.

<Begin Log>

SCP-XXXX: [Screaming incoherently]
[At this time, SCP-XXXX has reached Agent ███ and has taken a gold of him]

Agent ███: Please! Please let me go!

SCP-XXXX: [Screaming, hardly coherent] HOW DARE YOU

Agent ███: I'm sorry! What did I do wrong!? I pulled you out-

SCP-XXXX: [Screaming, hardly coherent] TOO LATE
Agent ███: I'm sorry! I couldn't- There's nothing I could have done.
SCP-XXXX: [Voice now soft] Why… Why couldn't you…
Agent ███: I just-
SCP-XXXX: [Slowly pushing Agent ███ into the water] Why… Why couldn't you…
Agent ███: I love you…
SCP-XXXX: I love you.
Agent ███: I will make it better next time. I promise. Next time… Next time… Next time…
[At this time, Agent ███ is submerged and no longer audible. Video shows bubbles that indicate he kept repeating the words "next time"even as he drowned.
<End Log>

Closing Statement: The dialogue suggests instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are possessed by SCP-XXXX or another being with which it keeps reliving a moment in time in loop. Nothing is conclusive and no more data is available as testing has been discontinued due to high casualties and lack of reliable testing methods.
