Picture drawn by Dr. ███████ during a test. They commented, “I am a scientist, not an artist” When the report papers were gathered. It was decided to use the drawing for description, as photography of XXXX is seemingly impossible.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a 3 m x 3 m x 4 m glass cell inside a 5 m x 5 m x 5 m x steel cell. Both cells are to be under a constant 10% increased air pressure level to ensure that both cells are airtight. No less than two (2) level 1 or higher personnel may enter at a time. A live-feed via security cameras on the inner walls of cell 2 must be watched at all times by no less than two (2) personnel of level 1 or higher, while anyone is inside SCP-XXXX’s cell.

Description: SCP-XXXX is humanoid in appearance, however, limbs seem stretched and much out of proportion. Figure stands approximately 3,3 meters tall and weighs (REDACTED). It has long thin limbs and no visible facial features. Instead of eyes, it has two holes in their place. It is currently unknown how deep the holes are, as their bottom has not yet been found. However, all reports show signs of SCP-XXXX being fully capable of seeing.

It is shadow-like in appearance and appears to be able to alter the shape and length of its limbs. This was realized when several reports indicated that SCP-XXXX had hands or (DATA EXPUNGED) where other reports indicated that its arms simply ended with nothing, much like its legs. SCP-XXXX can be viewed with direct sight and live video but any attempts to save any footage taken of it, shows an empty cell, or simply returns a completely black photo. Reason is so far unknown.

SCP-XXXX appears to be capable of becoming a shadow on any surface, and thus, travel through incredibly small spaces. Any attempts to engage in physical contact with SCP-XXXX has so far lead to this happening before actual contact was made. This has caused it to be significantly harder to do research on what SCP-XXXX is made of.

SCP-XXXX was first discovered when an old lady in █████, Sweden, called the police and reported having seen her own shadow move independently to her own movement, as well as appear with two (2) white glowing dots for eyes. Two (2) police officers were, despite disbelief, sent to her location. However they never reported back. This resulted in a team of five (5) officers being sent to the location to investigate. Despite the fact they were all equipped with communication devices, none of them were heard from again. The SCP foundation was soon after alerted and sent six (6) capturing units to the location. Upon arrival, they found SCP-XXXX simply standing inside what appeared to be the old lady’s bedroom. No traces of the police force or the lady were to be found.

Upon attempting to physically capture XXXX, it vanished seemingly without a trace. Police reports were collected from the station and brought to the SCP foundation.
However, XXXX was later discovered stalking Dr. ██████ within the SCP foundation. This lead to a theory of SCP-XXXX being able to infest another person’s shadow at will. So far, the only reported side-effect of XXXX infesting someone’s shadow, is that the subject gets mild paranoia within the first 10 minutes of the infestation. The police reports collected at the station, mentions the old lady describing SCP-XXXX to have white-glowing dots in place of eyes, however, this has only been heard described by test subjects who were also looking at XXXX as their shadow, and has not yet been reported by anyone not infested.

SCP-XXXX has managed to escape containment twice by seemingly infesting someone’s shadow, seconds before they left its cell. XXXX, during its first escape, was later found aimlessly wandering back and forth further down the hallway from its cell, and during its second escape, it was first realized when it exited Dr. ██████’s shadow inside of his office, however it didn't attack anyone during any of the breaches. The only known reports of XXXX attacking, after being captured by the SCP foundation, was during a test to find out what material XXXX's physical body was made of (see incident XXXX-A [insert link] )

SCP-XXXX has more than once, while being viewed via live feed cameras, been reported to flicker oddly on video. It is unknown if this is caused by XXXX's tendency to interfere with cameras in general. Reports have been made of XXXX, one moment standing perfectly still, and the next moment suddenly facing another direction, or disappearing completely, for then to return to its original position.

Cameras placed directly inside SCP-XXXX's inner cell appear useless as they show a constant black-screen. If live feed cameras in the outer cell are turned off and then turned back on, SCP-XXXX will not appear within the first 5 seconds of the cameras being reactivated. However, after the 5 second period, XXXX will be shown standing in its usual position in the middle of the room. Reason currently unknown.

Incident XXXX-A :

During a test on SCP-XXXX involving two (2) security guards and three (3) class D personnel, one of the class D’s were told to go touch SCP-XXXX. The moment his hand appeared to get into contact with SCP-XXXX, it made a backwards motion and changed form to being a shadow on the wall in front of the class D that had attempted contact. When the class D was asked if he managed to make contact or feel SCP-XXXX in the slightest, he shook his head.

He was then further commanded to go touch SCP-XXXX in its current state. As his hand got close to the wall, XXXX swiftly moved one (1) meter to the right. He was then instructed to keep his hand on the wall and not move it. Another class D was then told to go put his hand on the wall one (1) meter to the right of SCP-XXXX’s current location. XXXX stayed put between the two class D’s.

A third class D was now told to go touch XXXX directly, but as the class D approached XXXX and raised his hand to engage contact, all camera feeds and recording devices in SCP-XXXX’s cell seemed to fail and simply returned a static noise or a black screen. The entire cell became out of reach for electronic devices for about 10 seconds. When the cameras finally showed the live feed again, SCP-XXXX was shown standing alone in the middle of its cell.
