Item #: SCP-2000

Object Class: Euclid Safe

Special Containment Procedures: Due to the nature of SCP-2000, it's neither possible or necessary to contain it at this time. The object's location in space has been designated Zone ██-███, which will be monitored by a minimum of four (4) Level 1 personnel.

Should a situation arise that risks the existence of SCP-2000s unique properties becoming known to the public a warning must be issued to the responsible party/parties. In the circumstance of exposure via spacecraft, either satellite or manned vessel, if no alteration of in the craft's course comes within ten (10) hours of the warning, preventative actions should be taken. Personnel are authorized to use up to three (3) of the modified nuclear warheads located on Remote Satellite 15-C. If the perpetrators acknowledge the warning and alter their course to avoid Zone-██-███ all non-Foundation personnel involved will be administered Type B amnesiacs. If the breach originates from telescopic or other remote readings, those responsible must be administered Type B amnesiacs, and all evidence of SCP-2000's existence taken into Foundation custody. Any personnel on duty observing SCP-2000 that fail to apprehend exposure will be demoted to Class-D and reassigned to Armed Reliquary Containment Area-02.

Description: SCP-2000-1 is an exoplanet, approximately [REDACTED]au from Earth, located at ████° -███° ████°. The object is a poor reflector of light and greenish gray in coloration. It is made up primarily of silicon, hydrogen, and [REDACTED], with traces of thirteen (13) different elements, seven (7) of which were previously unknown to man. It possesses slight ridges and valleys, but has a generally uniform size of 0.763±0.073 MEarths. From Earth, all readings of this planet seem entirely normal, save that it orbits around a small black hole. Upon closer inspection, however, it becomes apparent that the sphere is a single gargantuan organism. The unique properties of SCP-2000 came to the attention of the Foundation during testing of [DATA EXPUNGED], and High Command instantly ordered further examination of the object. Dr. G volunteered, and the investigation began at 1:23pm on ██/██/19██.

SCP-2000 is composed of an unknown number of identical copies of itself. These copies appear to be linked via quantum entanglement, allowing a single sentience to inhabit and control all of these simultaneously, regardless of the massive amount of space between them. Only three of these objects have been located, dubbed SCP-2000-1, SCP-2000-2, and SCP-2000-3, with SCP-2000-1 being closest to Earth. SCP-2000 appears to collect its energy through a series of chemical reactions, essentially forming a single-organism ecosystem. Due to its distance from any significant light source, SCP-2000 uses the thermal energy caused by tidal flexing as a substitute energy source to light, removing photosynthesis from the energy chain entirely. Attempts to replicate this method of energy production are underway at Site-██-█. The creature can detect objects up to approximately ███████au away from it using a sort of cosmic echolocation of high frequency radio-waves. The creature claims to be capable of using the black hole around which it revolves to warp these waves to speeds faster than light, moving at ██.████Gm/s. SCP-2000's method of interpreting these waves is currently under investigation.

The creature is sentient and capable of communication via a complex language of radio frequencies. The presence of patterns in the frequency coming off of the object came to the attention of [REDACTED], who was a Level 2 working under Dr. G at the time. After a lengthy effort, the code was finally broken, revealing that the object was transmitting in English, Russian, and Chinese, depending on the ethnicity of whatever personnel was on duty at the time, as well as other seemingly random frequencies which the object has since revealed to be indications of its mood. (No other ethnic groups were available, but further testing has shown that the object is fluent in all languages, including those that have long since died out. Permission to have the SCP-2000 translate unknown languages is pending.) SCP-2000 has been eager to speak with researchers, and much of what we know about it is by its own admission. Due to its relative proximity to Earth, all conversations with SCP-2000 have been carried out through SCP-2000-1, so no concrete proof is present confirming its claims. Considering the lack of alternative sources of information (attempts to contact SCP-2000-2 and SCP-2000-3 are underway), the O5 council has decided to accept SCP-2000-1's claims as fact.

The creature's claims are as follows:

  • SCP-2000 claims to predate the universe and, when asked, described the Big Bang.
  • It has no understanding of violence or mortality, and claims to have been constantly confused by what it witnessed on Earth- i.e. wars and death.
  • It does not age, and has been in its current state since it became self-aware.
  • It can remember everything it has ever "seen". (supported by describing multiple events from throughout human history)
  • SCP-2000 claims to be nigh invincible from the number of copies that are entangled. (Testing confirmed this, the object could not be damaged with any conventional methods. This suggests that an unnervingly high number of copies exist.)

There is no evidence against these claims, and personnel are advised to attempt to avoid skepticism when conversing with SCP-2000.

Requesting permission to change object class from Euclid to Safe due to improbability of discovery by non-Foundation persons within any concerning timeframe- Dr. G
