Midas' Glove by Lumoz86 (first attempt)

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept inside a 30cm x 50cm x 15cm wooden container. The container must be stored in the center of a chamber with wooden walls, ceiling and floor. Chamber is 4m x 5m x 5m, closed by a locked wooden mechanism. Requires a minimum of Level 3 clearence access keycard to be accessed. Currently stored in Site-██.

Description: Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX, cross testing with it is strictly forbidden, as other SCPs will most likely have their physical integrity destroyed. Cross testing with SCP-XXXX-1 needs approval of an O5 personel aswell as the research director designated to said SCP.

SCP-XXXX is a white cloth glove that transforms almost any material it touches into solid gold, organic or inorganic. This is only caused if the material is touched by the fingertips of the object. Touching any other part of SCP-XXXX will not trigger it's effect, making it fairly wasy to wear it, if done with caution. Objects turned into gold will be referred as SCP-XXXX-1. It is also worth mentioning that SCP-XXXX-1 instances don't carry the anomalous effect from SCP-XXXX. That means gold produced by SCP-XXXX will not produce more gold as it can't infect objects nearby.

Subjects wearing SCP-XXXX for prolonged periods of time will have their hand become part of SCP-XXXX. It is unknown how SCP-XXXX does this. The only known ways to remove the object from the subject are to either amputate the limb connected to SCP-XXXX or if the subject deceases. SCP-XXXX will then separate it's tissue with the organic tissue that is wore upon and then fall off. This is also done by unknown means. Due to this effect, it is recommended that subjects do not wear SCP-XXXX for over an hour. Subjects tend to feel a sense of superiority, one describing it as "feeling like a rich king", while wearing SCP-XXXX by prolonged periods of time. It is unknown if this is human nature of if it's an anomalous effect produced by SCP-XXXX itself.

Although SCP-XXXX is able to transform most materials it touches into gold, it haves a few exceptions. It is unknown why, but it's theorized that whoever made SCP-XXXX set those exceptions on purpose to avoid accidents and facilitate containment of SCP-XXXX. Materials known to not react to SCP-XXXX's anomalous effects are any kind of wood, any kind of fabric and itself, meaning that anything made from these materials will not be transformed into gold. The wearer of SCP-XXXX is, however, still vulnerable to it's effects even if being wore or if SCP-XXXX is already a part of the sunject's body, so extra caution is required while testing.

Addendum-XXXX-01: SCP-XXXX was found on ██/██/20██, being wore by a gold statue of a man inside a house on █████████, California. Agent ████ was transformed into gold by accident trying to recover SCP-XXXX. It was quickly realized by the recovery team [[IF SOMEONE KNOWS A NAME FOR AN ACTUAL TEAM, THAT'D BE GREAT]] that the anomalous effects would only happen by touching the fingertips of the glove and SCP-XXXX was retrieved to Site-██ for containment. Testing has been approved.
