Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: No special security procedures are required to contain SCP-XXXX. Any personnel on Site 73 who wishes to read SCP-XXXX may request access from stationed security personnel, and are required to return SCP-XXXX to its chamber by the end of the day. A logbook should be kept and filled every time these requests are made to keep track of the object.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a small pile of documents written in the U.S. format of restricted level intelligence documents. These documents typically contain interesting pieces of information regarding people the reader knows or the reader themselves. All initial testing of SCP-XXXX reveals that as so far all information revealed by SCP-XXXX readings appears to be false.
Addendum XXXX-01: SCP-XXXX's interesting, but misleading information has provided personnel on Site 73 with a noticeable morale boost among the personnel dedicated to testing its properties. Dr. ████████ suggests a possible memetic effect, believing the object adapts to provide just the right information to keep intriguing discussion going between the group of individuals it is interacting with. Further investigation into this hypothesis has been authorized.
Addendum XXXX-02: Dr. ████████'s research provided substantial evidence to back his hypothesis. When cycling different groups of D-Class personnel, some who showed previously hostile relationships, found relatable conversation through information provided to them by SCP-XXXX. This conversation eventually yielded the sharing of otherwise intimate details about one anothers' lives. When interviewed after testing, the D-Class personnel revealed each others' sensitive information with great enthusiasm and in hushed tones. To put it bluntly, they've begun gossipping like school-girls.
The experiments' results have led Dr. ████████ and I believe the documents may be encouraging the men to form treacherous relationships; building a false bond of trust between document readers that they can exploit to extract sensitive personal information from one another. In light of this information, we've re-evaluated security procedures and have restricted the documents to Level 2 personnel only.
Why readers are then compelled to share the sensitive information they have learned is as of yet undetermined, and further testing will be needed. Testing has been authorized under the condition that Dr. ████████ and I focus on possible application to sensitive Foundation information and if more cautious security procedures need to be put in place.
