Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a 5x5x2m room with continuous ventilation feeding into a condensing chamber. The room where SCP-XXXX is held is reinforced with 30mm thick tungsten plating with an additional zinc layer to prevent rusting or corrosion. Level 3 Access Level 4 Access is required to enter the containment for SCP-XXXX (See addenda 1-A). The door to the chamber is controlled via an electrical motor, when no power is applied, the door is closed.

Daily maintenance staff must be equipped with respirators and have all electronic devices stripped from them. Staff must check the outside edge of the chamber for any leaks caused by SCP-XXXX activity.

Addenda 1-A: Security clearance raised to Level 4 due to crucial reliance on SCP-XXXX for backup power in Sector-██.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a Humanoid organism, measuring approximately 1.7m tall. SCP-XXXX resembles an elderly man physically who appears to be suffering from major starvation, tribal tattoos are strewn across the body of SCP-XXXX.

SCP-XXXX was found in the aftermath of a bush fire in ██████, Australia. When SCP-XXXX was confronted by Security personnel at ██████, it screamed for a prolonged period of time which was followed by SCP-XXXX-1 being spat at Security personnel followed by it spontaneously combusting.

The humanoid has many skin extensions, especially around the upper torso of its body and in an oxygen rich and damp environment produces a SCP-XXXX-1 from its mouth. Rather than breathing SCP-XXXX appears to intake oxygen through its skin, in a method similar to that of a frog, while the mouth is only used for excretion of the SCP-XXXX-1.

If moisture is present in the room, H2O will diffuse into SCP-XXXX's skin, however it is not known how a concentrated source of carbon is generated to create SCP-XXXX-1 as SCP-XXXX has not been fed since containment and the amount of carbon in the air is to little to satisfy SCP-XXXX-1's production.

When SCP-XXXX-1 is examined in an electron microscope, the atomic structure is similar to that of CH4 except a bonded hydrogen atom is replaced with the element ██████. When SCP-XXXX-1 is condensed it has similar properties to diesel fuel. In a gaseous form SCP-XXXX-1 is extremely volatile and an ignition of SCP-XXXX-1 can be easily triggered by contact with any charged particle. In case of a power failure in Sector-██, SCP-XXXX-1 is removed from the condensing chamber to power backup generators for the Sector.

Doctor ██ ██████ theorizes that SCP-XXXX-1 is a byproduct of anaerobic respiration and tests with differing levels of humidity and oxygen content within the chamber revealed that the rate of production of SCP-XXXX-1 is increased when these variables are increased. The skin extensions also may provide SCP-XXXX an increased surface area to exchange oxygen and water.

Tests on [DATA EXPUNGED] demonstrate that oxygen acts as a catalyst within the reaction rather than a reactant, however this cannot be confirmed as of yet due to a lack of knowledge about possible by products produced from this process. When SCP-XXXX was given a block of coal the resulting incident involved damage to the containment chamber as SCP-XXXX-1's pH levels dropped significantly allowing SCP-XXXX to melt away the first layer of tungsten, before the whole chamber spontaneously combusted.

Tests on SCP-XXXX-2, D Class Personnel which have been exposed to SCP-XXXX-1. During autopsies [DATA EXPUNGED] causes internal bleeding while soot or burn marks can be found on the walls of the inner lung, no other parts of the respiratory tract appears to be affected by the inhalation of SCP-XXXX-1.

Interviewed: SCP-XXXX
Interviewer: Doctor ██ ██████
Foreword: Interview was conducted by Doctor ██ ██████ and assisted by Class D Personnel writing on paper with a plastic pen, the produced document was later reviewed by Doctor ██ ██████ to check for errors.

SCP-XXXX: [SCP-XXXX Whispers faintly]
Interviewer: What?
SCP-XXXX: The fire, the soothing warmth in me, what have you done.
Interviewer: The gas? We are removing it from the chamber, to prevent any accidents.
SCP-XXXX: The essence….you cannot escape the essence enveloping your life, it all ends with the essence.
Interviewer: This essence….what is it?
SCP-XXXX: It is the essence of life, the cleansing of the old for the birthing of the new.
Interviewer: Okay….what can you tell me about ██████?
SCP-XXXX: The rebirth, new face of the earth, the abortion you caused when you dragged me out, my babies cannot live without the essence.
Interviewer: The bush fire? That caused immense damaged to the surrounding civilian population.
SCP-XXXX: They, they are not a part of the rebirth, the continue to delay the essence from attaching itself to my babies, time and time again the essence gives new life but is stopped only by you demons. [SCP-XXXX starts spitting condensed SCP-XXXX-1 at the D Class Personnel]

Closing Statement: D-3252 was taken into the infirmary and later died of ██████, the autopsy revealed that the condensed form of SCP-XXXX-1 was actually dissolved in water, and corroded the visceral muscle around D-3252's heart.
