SCP-2841-A's current host, D-9835.

Item #: SCP-2841

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-2841's locker is kept in a containment unit measuring seven by seven by ten meters. SCP-2841, however, is kept in the Foundation standard locker measuring twenty-five by twenty by one hundred centimeters. Due to the nature of SCP-2841's anomalous effects, the locker and cell are made of lead, as to not destroy containment. All guards and staff pertaining to SCP-2841 are required to wear full fencing equipment as to avoid any lacerations and/or dismemberment. To manifest SCP-2841-A, Site Command must give permission before manifestation. If SCP-2841-1 does manifest, he must remain in SCP-2841's containment unit, and has to be looked after.

Description: SCP-2841 is a fencing sabre, dating approximately two hundred years old (See Addendum-2841-1) even though no deterioration, corrosion, or even minor scuffing can be seen. From hilt to tip it measures eighty-five centimeters. Testing reveals it to be made of iron.

Due to SCP-2841's anomalous property, no living organism or substance less dense than lead can enter its field without becoming fully dismembered. More specifically, within close range. The field measures approximately four meters. At four meters from SCP-2841, small cuts, usually comparable to a nick from a knife, begin to form in front of a subjects body. At three meters, the cuts begin to grow in size, deep enough to penetrate somewhat deeply into the skin. At two meters, ragged lacerations form at this range, and are deep enough to severe fingers and other similar extremities. Shock and organ failure becomes a major concern at this point in the field. At one meter, evisceration becomes a huge possibility. Nothing can survive at .5 meters of the field. For an unknown reason, this phenomenon does not effect the floor.

The effects of this field can be negated once a subject adorns a full fencing wardrobe ( i.e. helmet, guard, proper pants, etc.) Though the subject can negate the effects and travel freely in the field, touching SCP-2841 will only result in complete dismemberment without the use of lead based tools. The only other way any subject can interact in any way with SCP-2841 is, as stated before, that a subject must adorn a full fencing wardrobe and in addition must have collectively five years of training under the sport of fencing.

In addition to the field, SCP-2841 retains possessive abilities once anyone holds the hilt. Once a subject grabs said hilt, they undergo a catatonic coma, staying in their previous stance for approximately thirty seconds. The subject soon after reawakens and is hereby referred to as SCP-2841-A. Once a subject grabs SCP-2841, the field dematerializes and is safe until removal. The possessed subject can revert back to their original self by removing SCP-2841.

SCP-2841-A will look and sound no different than the original subject, but appears to have changed to a different "consciousness" than the host. SCP-2841-A claims to be an experienced male fencer by the name of █████████ ██████ with an age of over two thousand years. He and The Foundation are currently unknown of the origins of himself and SCP-2841. As for an explanation for SCP-2841's field, he simply states "Like Hell I'm going to let any idiot handle me." He is fluent in Dutch, Latin, French, and English, regardless of the hosts previous knowledge in any of the languages.

SCP-2841 was discovered in ███████, Belgium, when reports came in about a sinkhole that was destroying a school-yard. When a recovery team was sent in, they discovered SCP-2841's anomalous properties continuously destroying the walls of the sinkhole. After numerous attempts and tests, it was eventually recovered. Class-A amnesiacs were administered to all pupils and staff of the school, as well as any other witnesses.
