Right, so first a little intro to things. If you're me, you'll understand everything and won't mind me talking to myself. If you're not me, then you're either here to review something of mine because I asked you, in which case, thank you, or you just stumbled onto here, or even, you purposely sought this page out, in which case… fine. Each scip has their own tab, please proceed to your designated one in an orderly and dignified manner. 'Idea Notes' is a little tab where I just note down code names for the ideas I have, so I don't forget them and nobody steals them. But you wouldn't steal them, would you? Would you? Anyway, you're probably bored of reading this, if you even read it at all, so please, continue.
First SCP. This one was originally deleted after posting. Things to do:
- Rewrite so it makes more of a story. Needs something more to it, and a 'punchline', y'know.
- Trim down the description. It's "A glut of wordage that doesn't really serve the article" - A reviewer.
- Maybe make the containment procedures less cumbersome, why have such a big room for a safe object? Maybe just a locker and at midnight everyone has to move away.
Possible rewrite notes:
Pre-exam rewrite notes:
- How about taking the name literally: Dream Watch. It's watching your dreams, recording them, storing them.
- One of the dreams in the experiment log was about an infinite dream 'building'. I liked that, make more of it. SCP-XXXX is not just recording your dreams, but copying them to this 'place', and is also copying you. More and more of you is taken there, that's why SCP-XXXX appears closer. Eventually the watch transfers your whole consciousness there. The 'colony' of people are all victims of SCP-XXXX.
- Although other ends would have to be tied up: what are the monsters, can you escape. No, it's just your consciousness there, your body is still on Earth, permanently asleep without the mind though. Resemblance to other people is just parts of the memory seeping out into the place.
- Maybe have it just as a hotel? That's a bit scarier, right? Barns is a bit ridiculous. But then again, how can you have a colony of people in a hotel, the narrow corridors and such. Y'know what, I think it could work actually.
- But what about the monsters 'taking' you, huh? Why? To where? And how come you can't turn your head? Oh, how about they're 'part' of the place, the watch. It's…agents, scanning you for more information. Turning your head interrupts them, and so they take you away so they can keep you still. But why not during the day? Well the whole theme is dream based, so only at night. Hang on, night? In an infinite building. It's a dream it doesn't have to make sense, the lights dim or something. Atmospheric lux depreciates.
- As for SCP-XXXX's functionality, perhaps it's too complex with the 'eyes open or shut' thing. Why not just have the paralysis, and the bliss or nightmare is random, as the watch scans you for the good and bad bits of your brain, differing each night. But what's it scanning for? Your memories, I guess? Or your knowledge? Or both? Or neither, it just want you? No, everything has a purpose. Or you could just leave it unanswered? Yeah, that's probably best.
- Let's have it that the dreams start of as previously given, subjective, relative to who the subject is, but then gradually more pieces of the dream take place inside the hotel, until it's all inside the hotel, and from then on they all are.
- Why not have the current 'residents' try desperately to warn the subject to stop using the watch, as if they're seeing they're new to appearing sometimes and want to save them from this fate.
- I keep hitting the damn question mark button rather than the arrow.
- What would life be like inside the hotel? Doesn't really need to be answered, but, do the people age normally. I'd say so, so they can die. But what happens then. More importantly, do they stay there after their bodies die. Surely, otherwise no one would be there. But who are the current 'residents'. Former test subjects for the watch's maker perhaps? But then who would that be? How about they just lost their memory, or it was wiped. Kind of a cop out, but oh well.
- Speaking of maker, at this stage The Factory doesn't really make sense to be the creator. We have no idea what it is, so seeing people from it wouldn't make sense, you could track it or something. Another GOI maybe, or just left unanswered? Unanswered probably, it's not like it would be The Oneroi Collective, they're not cruel like that. I don't even know enough to write about them anyway.
- Should probably rewrite the recovery log. The newspaper advert has too may possibilities for traceback. Maybe he should found it in a bin? Or maybe he was found in the device's last stage, perpetually asleep. Ah, yes, that's where you could fund out where he got it, as they meet him in the hotel. But if they found him affected, how come the others weren't. Oh, of course, they were test subjects.
- As for the self-repairing thing, it seems a bit too much of an extreme circumvent to have onlookers pass out and video recording disabled, you're giving it too much power, that implies it can do so much more. Why not just have it instantaneously reappear where it was originally broken, right in front of people's eyes. Much easier.
That was more of an outpouring of ideas than anything else structured. Ah well, I guess that's what was needed. Now everything's written down, I'll let it collect in my head for a bit, and come back and rewrite this after exams are done.
Post-exam rewrite notes:
- I'm not so sure about the idea of a hotel. it doesn't seem to really fit, kinda out of place and cliche. Also, how about bringing back the factory? I know it makes the factory seem kinda malicious, but after reading Recruitment Drive (R-28126), I think that could work. Here's the idea:
- Rather than being in a hotel, they're in a factory. A dream factory, and the former victims of the watch are now trapped there. There is a production line where they are making something. It could be something shocking, like more watches, or just plain [REDACTED].
- Rather than being 'agents' of the watch, the monsters are like supervisors, and are trying to catch you not working, and take you to the production line.
- The factory is, of course, infinite. There is no conceivable end to the production line, and it seems that there are other factories outside stretching off forever into the distance.
- Other than that, it remains the same. Frightened former victims trying to warn you. Night time comes as normal. Perhaps the supervisors should only come out during the day. That would be an interesting twist, possibly.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is kept in a soundproof containment locker at Site 77, along with its original packaging. Access is restricted to Level 2 personnel. Between 23:55 and 00:05 in the local timezone, nearby staff are to keep at least a 5m distance from the locker, as indicated by floor markings. A clock correct to the local time must be present outside. Any personnel exposed to SCP-XXXX are to be reassigned to another area of Site-77.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an unbranded digital and analogue wristwatch. It is made of khaki-green plastic and rimmed with gold paint. Except for its anomalous effect, SCP-XXXX behaves and functions exactly as a normal watch.
At midnight local time, SCP-XXXX will emit electronic beeps for a total of ten seconds. This has been found to be SCP-XXXX's default alarm function, however no way has been found to disable or change it. Anyone within a 3m range of SCP-XXXX will hear this alarm, unless obstructed, with the sound stopping abruptly at the 3m mark.
SCP-XXXX affects and alters the dreams of individuals exposed to its sound. Initially, content of dreams are unaffected. However, after three exposures, subjects begin to report recurring features in their dream's content and emotional responses, with progressively more relations to industry and work. Further, as a subject uses SCP-XXXX, their dreams become more lucid, with the subject more able to interact with them and remember their content. This progressive change of dreams can be halted if a subject is not exposed a third time, after which SCP-XXXX's effect progresses even if it is removed.
Test No.: 1
Subject: D-67293
Dream Content Description: Subject reported being in her old school, although with a slightly distorted layout, and engaged in normal school activities with people she claimed went to school with her.
Notes: Not deemed a deviation from standard dreams, and subject afterward reported no change in physical feeling.
Test No.: 3
Subject: D-67293
Dream Content Description: Subject dreamed about being in a hamlet built on small islands in the crater of a volcano, described as bright and full of abundant and colourful nature. D-67293 noted seeing SCP-XXXX around the area occasionally, and that bridges between the islands gained mechanical components near the end.
Notes: Change in scenery, as well as the appearance of SCP-XXXX, deemed first major deviation from standard dreams.
Test No.: 4
Subject: D-67293
Dream Content Description: Subject reported dreaming about being in her old house as a child. Throughout the dream, D-67293 had constant emotions of anger, frequently lashing out at people around her. She noted that many of her possessions had become mechanical components and her father's occupation had changed to be working at a factory. Subject also reported that one of her possessions was SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX was ostensibly counting down from 24 hours in both analogue and digital and had counted down approximately 8 hours.
Notes: First report of SCP-XXXX counting down. Total time elapsed on SCP-XXXX equated to the time spent asleep.
Test No.: 5
Subject: D-67293
Dream Content Description: Subject described being on a vast green plain near a town made of enlarged Lego. D-67293 was being taught how to fly a kite with a friend. Later in the dream, buildings in the town became made of bricks rather than Lego, and the friend in the dream kept trying to encourage her to take a job at a local factory, although it is not described what the factory did. Subject reported that she found SCP-XXXX in her pocket and that it had continued counting down, now down approximately 15 hours 20 minutes.
Notes: Time SCP-XXXX counted down equates to the time D-67293 spent asleep in the current and previous tests combined. It was determined to find out what occurs when SCP-XXXX reaches 0.
Test No.: 6
Subject: D-67293
Dream Content Description: Subject reported being in a large building, with its interior being parts of other buildings such as hotels, town halls, barns, and factories. D-67293 spent most of the dream wandering through, however occasionally reported seeing figures attempting to communicate with her. Said figures appeared hazy and incoherent, and D-67293 was not able to understand what they said. She also reported seeing larger humanoid creatures in factory areas that were similarly hazy in appearance, but tended to leave her alone. Subject described wearing SCP-XXXX on her wrist the whole time and not being able to remove it. SCP-XXXX continued counting down, reaching 23 hours 30 minutes.
Notes: Subject was reluctant to use SCP-XXXX again, but continued after assurances of safety.
Test No.: 7
Subject: D-67293
Dream Content Description: Subject dreamed of being in a huge factory, with SCP-XXXX on her wrist again and unable to take it off. She explored for most of the dream; the rooms visited were of a typical factory, including break rooms, boiler rooms, and storage rooms. D-67293 reported frequently having figures attempt to communicate with her as before, yet now was able to clearly perceive and understand them. The figures ostensibly requested she stop using SCP-XXXX immediately or requested she help them escape. D-67293 again reported larger humanoid creatures who mostly left her alone, preferring instead to stalk the figures in the dream, but noted they were markedly more aware of her presence than previously. SCP-XXXX reached 0 on its countdown part way through the dream. Subject stated that at the end of the dream she entered a large elongated room with a production line in the centre, which had figures standing at it. However, she was not able to gather more information on the room or the production line before awaking.
Notes: Subject initially refused to continue testing, but continued after reminder of contract. After exposure, she attempted to stay awake for as long as possible to avoid sleep. Production line room deemed area of high interest, and D-67293 was instructed to gather more information on it next test.
Test No.: 8
Subject: D-67293
Dream Content Description: Unknown
Notes: After falling asleep, subject did not awaken. Standard methods of forced awakening did not succeed. Analysis of brain waves indicated that D-67293 was in constant stage 5 REM sleep, and expired 4 days later due to dehydration. Testing continued with another subject to gain information on production line.
Test No.: 14
Subject: D-39371
Dream Content Description: Similar details to Test 6. However, D-39371 additionally stated that one of the figures in the dream had a similar appearance to D-67293. She reported that this figure attempted to communicate with her but was chased away by the humanoid creatures, and that she saw the figure be caught by them just before waking up.
Notes: Due to the hazy appearance of figures in the dream at this stage of progression, it cannot be known for certain that the figure reported was D-67293. Subject was also reluctant to use SCP-XXXX again, but continued after assurances of safety and reminder of contract.
Test No.: 15
Subject: D-39371
Dream Content Description: See Addendum XXXX-3 - Interview Log
Notes: Information successfully gained on production line.
Test No.: 16
Subject: D-39371
Dream Content Description: Unknown
Notes: Subject did not awaken. Standard methods of forced awakening failed. More extreme methods were successful, however D-39371 immediately suffered a heart attack and was unable to be resuscitated.
SCP-XXXX was acquired by the Foundation after a resident in ██████, England, reported to his GP about having recurring dreams of being in a factory and factory-like areas. Therapy and all types of treatment proved ineffective at stopping the dreams, and 2 days later the resident was found supposedly comatose in his apartment. After the subject was found to actually be in perpetual REM sleep, an undercover Foundation agent searched his home, and confiscated SCP-XXXX after discovering a note with SCP-XXXX's packaging. A fellow resident in the building claimed he had been simply delivered SCP-XXXX one day with no explanation or indication of who delivered it. The note had been delivered with SCP-XXXX and read:
The Dream Watch! A brand new device from The Foundry.
Part of our new Collection for the Incomplete Gentleman, generously funded by our associates at The Factory.Congratulations! You have been chosen to test this new invention that will not only improve your dreams, but offer you brand new career prospects in the process, as well as functioning as a brilliant watch. Just use as normal, and you will see the results.
All the best,
The Foundry, a division of The Factory.Mind
The resident had originally discarded the claims, but kept the watch because he did not have one himself. All citizens aware of the incident were administered class B amnestics and the GP records confiscated.

Interviewed: D-39371
Interviewer: Researcher ██████████
Foreword: After Test No. 15, D-39371 reported successfully gaining information regarding the supposed production line seen inside her and D-67293's dreams. Subject was then interviewed regarding the information gathered.
<Begin Log>
Researcher ██████████: So, D-39371, tell me about what you dreamt with regards to the production line.
D-39371: Well, the first thing I saw when I got in there was that it was, just, it went on forever.
██████████: Can you give more detail?
D-39371: Well, it just seemed to stretch straight on forever into the distance. Just this infinitely long production line, conveyor belt and all.
██████████: What else did you see?
D-39371: Well, I looked around a bit. Everything else seemed to fit in with it. Doors lined the walls that went on forever, and loads and loads of pipes. There were some big windows at the very top of the room but I couldn't see anything out of them, just this bright whiteness.
██████████: Anything else? Was the production line working?
D-39371: Yeah, it was. The conveyor belt was moving and there were things on it.
██████████: What were they?
D-39371: I couldn't actually see from where I was, so I moved to a different spot. I walked down to the actual production floor, and there were people there, working. They looked pretty focused, almost possessed. They wouldn't stop, not even take a breather as I looked at them. I tried to talk to one, thinking he'd talk to me as the others had done, but no, he didn't even blink. Just… kept working.
██████████: And what about the objects on the conveyor belt, 39371? What were they?
D-39371: And then… I saw ███████1. She was standing there like the others, endlessly bolting together pieces of metal.
██████████: But what about the objects on the production line, 39371?
D-39371: She just… I tried talking to her, I tried shaking her but she was completely stuck in this trance. Her eyes didn't even move.
██████████: 39371, answer my question.
D-39371: (pauses) Watches. It was more watches, the same kind as the one as you're making me have by my bedside every night.
██████████: Thank you. Is there anything else you can tell us.
D-39371: Yeah. That production line, it was only endless in one direction. I could see the end wall about a hundred metres the other way, but the conveyor belt just went through it. I couldn't see where to, there was just this really bright whiteness again.
██████████: Anything else?
D-39371: No.
██████████: Very well. That concludes this interview.
D-39371: I haven't seen ███████ in ages. What happened to her? You know, don't you. What did you do to her?
██████████: I'm not at liberty to discuss that information 39371. But if it makes you feel better, it was just a dream.
<End Log>
Afterword: Following the interview, testing continued.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a sealed glass case at the centre of a 10m x 10m x 3m room. The containment chamber is to be under constant surveiilance near the full moon, and surveillance equipment is to be embedded in the walls to prevent destruction. During a Furor event, all staff are to vacate to at least a 20m radius. Any Foundation personnel that have touched SCP-XXXX are to be re-designated as Class E personnel and moved to a Foundation mental health institute for re-education and re-civilisation.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an ancient elk (cervus canadensis) skull, carbon dated to approximately 50,000 years old. SCP-XXXX is bleached white, and measures 20cm by 50cm, and 30cm to the top of the skull. The antlers measure 1 metre in length and bear three prongs near the top.
SCP-XXXX has been observed to project a mental effect on individuals who are within the same room as it, up to a limit of 20m, which increases if the subject is looking at SCP-XXXX. The effect of SCP-XXXX has been described as a feeling of heightened adrenaline and emotion. Individuals have a reported a marked increase in desire for action, impulsiveness, and anger, along with a decrease in thought, reasonability, and calmness. These feelings have been described as subtle and easy to ignore, however, these feelings are reported to increase the closer the subject is to SCP-XXXX. Subjects closer than 0.5m demonstrate heightened aggression, and have reported auditory hallucinations of drums. Subjects removed from SCP-XXXX's influence have not shown any lasting effects.
If an individual makes skin contact with SCP-XXXX, they will instantly enter a brief period of considerable mental strain, which continues even if the subject lets go. After 10 seconds, the effect will cease, and the subject will immediately begin acting in a feral manner, instantly attacking any other people in the room and attempting to break out of the room. Long-term analysis of affected individuals indicate they are unable to speak any previously known language, and have lost all previous memories. Subjects act extremely feral and aggressive, and will only obey shows of force.
Re-education and re-civilisation of affected subjects requires years of intensive care, and so far no affected subjects have been fully returned to their original state, regardless of previous personality.
Periodically, the area around SCP-XXXX will undergo an event known as a Furor event, occurring at exactly midnight during a full moon.
In a Furor event, a group of individuals2 collectively known as SCP-XXXX-1 will manifest within a 5m radius of it. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 appear to be ancient humans dressed in animal pelts, and adorned with tribal markings, trinkets. One individual consistently appears decorated more than others, carries a staff, and wears a smaller deer skull on its head.
After manifestation, SCP-XXXX-1 will proceed to engage in ritual activities such as dancing, chanting, and fighting for approximately 1 hour. SCP-XXXX-1 will use SCP-XXXX as a centrepiece during this time, and will not leave its area of influence. If any individuals enter the area during this time, SCP-XXXX-1 will swarm the individual, and kill them by beating and clubbing. If any individuals are in the area of effect before SCP-XXXX-1 manifests, they will undergo a heightened effect of that emitted by SCP-XXXX, and when SCP-XXXX-1 manifests, they will take part in the aforementioned activities with SCP-XXXX-1.
Near the end of a Furor event, SCP-XXXX-1 will organise one final ritual in which any individuals present that are not part of SCP-XXXX-1 will place their hands on SCP-XXXX, and undergo the same mental change. After this, they are adorned with clothes and trinkets similar to SCP-XXXX-1 instances. At the end of a Furor event, SCP-XXXX-1 will instantly dematerialise, along with any subjects who took part in the final ritual. Subjects lost in this way are not to be attempted to be retrieved and are considered an instance of SCP-XXXX-1.
Addendum XXXX-1: On ██/██/██, SCP-XXXX was dropped in transport and the left antler was broken. Immediately after, SCP-XXXX-1 manifested in the area, and proceeded to attack all nearby personnel. The site suffered 16 casualties, including the entire transport group, before security could respond. Security killed three instances of SCP-XXXX-1, before the rest dematerialised. Extra precaution is to be taken when handling SCP-XXXX.
Note: I dreamt this one day and just had to write it down. Don't ask me what it means.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: To prevent further occurrences of SCP-XXXX, the Foundation is to invest and assist in health schemes promoting the 5 A Day diet3, with extra emphasis on consuming sizeable portions of fruit. Any information on past SCP-XXXX events is to be suppressed and past instances of SCP-XXXX-A monitored, with personal diet plans introduced to include more fruit. In the case of a new SCP-XXXX event, amnestics are to be disseminated city-wide and a cover story of mass hysteria planted.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an event that manifests in population centres of above 500,000 people. An SCP-XXXX event requires the general populace to have consumed approximately 40% less mass of fruit than the national average in a year and for an individual, dubbed SCP-XXXX-A, in that city to have consumed no fruit for at least a month. When these trigger points are reached, an SCP-XXXX event will occur the next time the SCP-XXXX-A instance goes to sleep.
In an SCP-XXXX event, a simplistic face, composed only of a black line for a mouth and two black dots for eyes, will appear on the back of the SCP-XXXX-A instance's head. Almost immediately after manifesting, the face will begin to shout "Death to fruit!" repeatedly in a deep voice with the local accent. Inanimate objects around the SCP-XXXX-A instance will then begin to manifest copies of this face on their surfaces, taking up over 60% of the surface area. This effect will spread to a range of approximately 1.5 kilometres from SCP-XXXX-A and affects objects of any size, including chairs, mirrors, cars, phoneboxes and skyscrapers. All faces manifested in this way will collectively chant "Death to fruit!" repeatedly. This will usually awaken the SCP-XXXX-A instance but this does not end the event. An SCP-XXXX event will end after approximately 5 minutes.
SCP-XXXX first occurred in Indianapolis on ██-██-199█. There have been █ subsequent events.
So, The Foundry is basically a linking of three different SCP ideas I have: the Dream Watch, the guy who's allergic to cameras, and the record player that plays you. The idea is that it's this anomalous company that runs one or more foundries. However, instead of smelting and casting metal, they smelt and cast people. As in, they break down people into three core components: their mind, their body, and their soul, and then either sell them or create new humans out of the materials. They were originally an independent company, but were bought up by The Factory at some point, after which their productivity and profits increased greatly.
Of course, getting the core components of people is no easy task. They cannot simply bring people to their foundries and melt them down. Instead, with the help of The Factory, they have distributed various anomalous products around the world that separate humans out partially or completely. The first is the dream watch, which steals your mind and soul, transmitting it back to the Foundry. The second is a set of polaroid cameras that steal your soul, the printouts of which can be collected. The third is a very large phonograph/record player that can run a human on it's spindle, which separates out the person into all three, which can be collected.
There are extra aspects to these. For example, the factory that produces the soul-stealing cameras have pretty bad health and safety, and workers are exposed to many anomalous chemicals, leading to diseases like becoming allergic to pictures being taken of you, as one unlucky guy is. The record player also plays various pieces from your memories which it processes you, and you're alive during the process. There may also be other items that they have created.
Seeking Greenlights: Yes
Page Type: SCP Article
Elevator Pitch: Everything has two basic properties: what it is and what it isn't. Now imagine if those were separated into two distinct objects. One object being everything that it is and unable to be anything else, another being everything that it isn't and unable to be the one thing that it is.
This SCP is a key and a padlock. When the key is in the padlock, they're both normal. However, as soon as they're separated, they become anomalous. All the properties of the key, except position and rotation, become immutable. It cannot change in any way, including shape, temperature, and even non-physical properties like ownership. All the properties of the padlock however, become stochastic and constantly shifting. It's shape changes thousands of times a second, being every possible combination of its atoms except its original shape, all within a small bounding box. All of it's other properties change too, except position and rotation. It's the perfect lock and key; the key cannot be broken or stolen, the padlock cannot be picked. When they are reintroduced to each other, they will become non-anomalous and the padlock can be operated as normal.
Further, the objects defy normal description when in their anomalous states. The key can only be described in tautologies, with people only able to refer to it in ways that are redundant or unhelpful, e.g. 'it looks like what it is', 'it's the colour of itself', 'it's as many centimetres long as an object which is that many centimetres long', etc. Conversely, the padlock cannot be described. Not just because it's changing form, but because every attempt to describe one of it's properties comes out as a falsehood or a contradiction, e.g. 'it looks like a kingfisher but it's a house', 'it's green and blue and white, but not blue', 'it's a thousand miles long', etc. People are aware that their descriptions are like this, so will often become frustrated and keep trying to describe it correctly, to no avail.
Central Narrative: None
Hook/Attention-Grabber: Hopefully the idea is unique enough to be interesting, but there could also be a note from whoever made it describing it in their own way.
Additional Notes: "It is shaped, sir, like itself, and it is as broad as it hath breadth. It is just so high as it is, and moves with its own organs. It lives by that which nourisheth it, and, the elements once out of it, it transmigrates."
Here I've just written down some ideas I have that I'll hopefully turn into actual SCPs one day. I've only written a code name for each though, and a little extra thematic reminder. This way I remember what they are, and nobody else does, while still getting that teaser trailer feel. Here they are:
