Object class safe
Special containment procedures SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a 6m x 6m x 6m bulletproof glass case. All personnel must go through a mandatory psychiatric evaluation before dealing with SCP-XXXX, and a trained psychiatrist must be kept on site at all times. SCP-XXXX must be kept under constant video and audio surveillance to document any attempts by SCP-XXXX-1 to communicate with any personnel.
Description SCP-XXXX is a closet with a white door. The exterior holds no anomalous properties. It is simply a white closet door found within a suburban home. Upon opening the closet the interior is filled with black smoke. The black smoke impairs vision to a point where nothing can be seen beyond the smoke. After viewing the contents of SCP-XXXX for approximately 2 seconds a manifestation of the viewers greatest fear. These manifestations are documented as an occurrence of SCP-XXXX-1. This is not a physical manifestation, but will the viewer will continue to see the manifestation of its fear for the next 3 days. However, mental side effects including paranoia, anxiety, and several personality disorders. The manifestations seen by SCP-XXXX are only visible to the one who fears that object or manifestation. It has also been noted that SCP-XXXX can produce several manifestations at a time.
After several experiments SCP-XXXX-2 was discovered. While testing with thermal imaging a humanoid figure sitting in fetal position was discovered. It is believed that SCP-XXXX-2 is the cause of the phenomena. While testing with thermal imaging it was revealed that SCP-XXXX-2's heat signature grows enormously while the phenomenona occurs, giving evidence to the hyposthesis. The current theory as to why SCP-XXXX-2 may cause this phenomenon is that it may be acting in self defense. No attempts to physically harm human life have been made by SCP-XXXX-2.
SCP-XXXX was found in a suburban home in 2004 after the man living there reported an incredibly large spider living in his closet. After authorities examined the closet, many different anomalies seemed to be coming from the closet, the foundation was called in.
Addendum 1-A
No audible communication has been made with SCP-XXXX-2, but other forms have been achieved. In the first experiment a piece of paper with the question "why are you here" written on it. The the paper was slid under the door. Several minutes later the paper was slid back under the door with the word "lost" written on it. This shows that SCP-XXXX-2 has at least a basic understanding of the English language, but it is unknown whether or not it can speak.
Addendum 1-B A Hersheys chocolate bar was placed just outside the door of SCP-XXXX. Some scuttling was heard within SCP-XXXX. After a short pause a thin gray hand reached out and grabbed it. However it was extremely fast and was not visible long enough for any pictures or sketches to be made. From what was seen it was humanoid besides the gray color of its skin and the pointedNess of its fingers. All attempts at communication have ceased.
