Writer's note: I subsituted SCP-XXXX with SCP-X in every instance past the item number, but the incidents are still labeled in the style of "XXXX-0X". It's hard for me to read through the draft if every instance of the SCP number is replaced with SCP-XXXX. I will make sure to replace SCP-X with the proper item number when/if this thing is eventually posted.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-X is currently contained in isolated cell 47-d at Site 19-E. Due to SCP-X's rather harmless disposition, no remarkable amount of resources is necessary to contain it. SCP-X is to remain isolated from other item containment cells to prevent those affected by SCP-X from wandering too far into presently occupied areas. Facility personnel tasked with monitoring SCP-X must follow the appropriate procedures regarding personal identification before entering its cell. Any failure to accurately identify oneself upon departure will result in the immediate retrieval and detainment of the deviate person(s) until it can be determined that no influence of SCP-X is present. Personnel are not to expose naked skin to any of the filaments covering SCP-X. Gloves are to be worn at all times when handling SCP-X.

Description: SCP-X is a small, non-rigid humanoid figurine about the size of a balled fist. SCP-X has no discerning features other than its shape, and while not directly adhering to any man-made counterpart, upholds the anatomical structure of a doll. Likewise, SPC-X’s frame is not composed of an identifiable material, although to the naked eye its surface distinctly resembles that of engineered wood. SCP-X has been determined to consistently develop independent protein filaments along its body, which share similarities with human hair, although the filaments produced by SCP-X are less pronounced and vaguely translucent. Fully developed filaments disintegrate after approximately 32 hours and leave behind no indication of growth.

SCP-X has not displayed any capability of movement. Attached is a description of all known interactions and incidents involving SCP-X. Interviews are attached to the corresponding event where applicable.

Incident XXXX-01: 11/9/██

Subject Name: Dr. Harsch, █████
Subject Description: Senior researcher responsible for the observation of SCP-X.
Overview of Incident:
5:33 Subject enters containment for hands-on observation.
5:36 Subject exits containment and returns to conference room.
5:41 Subject is approached by 3 SCP-X assigned researchers and asked
about his business in the conference room during research hours. Subject
responds by shaking his head. No further questions elicit a reaction.
5:42 Subject is apprehended.

Incident XXXX-02: 11/12/██1

Subject Name: Dr. Halesworth, Jones
Subject Description: Head researcher assigned to SCP-X.
23:16 Subject enters containment for observation.
23:17 Subject discovers filaments sprouting from SCP-X’s frame.
23:17 Subject records his findings before interacting with SPC-X.
23:18 Subject removes a single filament from SCP-X’s frame.
23:18 Subject withdraws from SCP-X and exits containment.
23:22 Subject ceases responding coherently to simple prompts.
23:23 Subject exits room and enters transit.
23:25 Subject is intercepted and detained by nearby researchers.

Controlled Interaction XXXX-03: 11/17/██

Subject Name: Dr. Sulton, Peter
Subject Description: Volunteer researcher assigned to the controlled experimentation surrounding SCP-X.
Procedure:
Part A:
1. Approach containment with one pair of latex gloves and a remotely monitored tablet.
2. Adorn latex gloves.
3. Enter containment carrying tablet.
4. Rotate tablet camera a full 360 degrees around SCP-X, ensuring that the video feed is being received clearly and completely by the remote operation group.
Position tablet in a stationary position on the cell floor so that the camera is in clear view of the yourself, SCP-X, and the main cell entrance.
5. Once the remote operation group has verified the integrity of the camera’s position and clarity of the video feedback, execute procedure Part B.
Part B:
1. Without removing the latex gloves, examine the tangible properties of the artifact, beginning with a tactile inspection of the appendages and frame and ending with a sensory analysis of the filaments protruding from SCP-X.
2. Repeat procedure Part B, step 1 after removing both latex gloves.
Overview of Procedure Enactment:
19:25 Subject enters containment after adorning gloves.
19:26 Remote operation group successfully receives 360° video
feedback of SCP-X from subject.
19:27 Tablet position is determined to be stable, and subject receives the
affirmative from the remote operation group.
19:27 Subject begins tactile analysis of SCP-X. Subject reports findings to
the remote operation group via tablet comlink.
19:29 Subject completes gloved analysis and begins ungloved tactile
analysis.
19:30 Subject begins ungloved sensory analysis of SCP-X’s
independent filaments.
19:30 Subject halts all movement.
19:30 Subject ceases to respond to queries made by the remote operation
group.
19:30 Subject exits containment and enters transit.
19:32 Subject is seized by two dispatched members of the remote operation group.
19:33 Subject is detained for interview.

Addendum: It is suspected that SCP-X is capable of maintaining control over one or more subjects for an extended period of time. SCP-X has exhibited an impressive command over the English language, and does not struggle with phonetic pronunciation. SCP-X possesses, however, a seemingly juvenile conscious, and cannot sustain a conversation at its current stage.

Addendum 2: It is hypothesized that while SCP-X has difficulty forming complete sentences, its conscious is actually very well developed, and it struggles only with interpreting/translating our language and cultural habits.

Addendum 3: At this time it is unknown if SCP-X has any level of control over its filaments; continued surveillance shows zero movement at all times.

Addendum XXXX-02: As of 12/23/██, Dr. Halesworth has reported lingering effects of his encounter with SCP-X.
