TheHypocritic and his box of bad ideas

Item #: SCP-XXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX is to be held in a modified biosphere chamber resembling mid-western North America. This chamber is to be filled with non poisonous plant life meant to simulate a savannah like environment. As SCP-XXX is incapable of feeding on its own, handlers are to insert leaves and other vegetation into the objects oral cavity during feeding. Plant matter is to be ground up prior to feeding to aid in SCP-XXX's digestion.

Any and all vinyl records used for testing on SCP-XXX are to be placed in a separate storage area and are not to be played on other phonographs. Further testing with vinyl discs used on SCP-XXX is to be suspended if newfound anomalous properties do not produce consistent, predictable reactions from test animals.

Description: SCP-XXX is a living taxidermy of an unknown genus of juvenile sauropod. SCP-XXX's skin is dry and covered in bumpy scales, matching the proposed skin texture of sauropods in the fossil record. These scales are a dark yellow coloration with dark brown blotch patterns scattered across the body, though concentrated most heavily around the neck. SCP-XXX is approximately 250 pounds and 3 feet tall, though subject does not appear to age or gain mass/height.

In place of a natural head, SCP-XXX has a late 1900's phonograph surgically attached to its neck. SCP-XXX does not appear to have sight or a sense of smell, and will wander around its environment aimlessly. If not aided and directed by handlers, or placed in a low risk environment, SCP-XXX will invariably cause unintended harm to itself. As SCP-XXX does not have a conventional mouth or teeth, it requires the assistance of staff to feed it ground up vegetation for sustenance.

While SCP-XXX normally does not make vocalizations, the phonograph attached to its body can play the songs of whatever phonograph record is placed onto its turntable. Under normal circumstances, Once the crank of the phonograph has been wound up and the records audio begins playing, no anomalous properties will manifest. In the event one or more non human animals are present when SCP-XXX's phonograph head is playing music, SCP-XXX's anomalous properties will begin to manifest.

Animals within an immediate distance of 10 to 20 feet will begin displaying abnormal, anomalous behavior. Behaviors almost always consigned with class D reality shifts, allowing for the animals act and move in ways that would be normally impossible for them, such as standing on two legs, dancing, talking, or other behaviors along those lines. What affects a played recording from SCP-XXX will have on and animal seems to be completely random, with no consistent results being yet found for the relations between manifested anomalous behaviors, the type of recording played, the animals exposed to the recording, or the duration of the recording.
