Item #: SCP-XXXX “Shifty”

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Moved to Site-██ on ████. Security increased from level █ to 4 SCP-XXXX scheduled for testing with other SCPs. SCP-XXXX must be kept in a 2 m x 2 m x 2 m goldcube, with one small light bulb inside that must be changed weekly. When changing the light bulb, the cube must be transported to an enclosed golden chamber with no more or less more or less than 2 people present. 2D-Class personnel SCP-XXXX is to be carried out of its containment cube while the light bulb is being changed. One of the personnel will change the lightbulb and the other will maintain direct eye contact with SCP-XXXX for the duration of the change. One of the personnel will restrain it while the other is changing the light bulb. When the light bulb has been replaced, it is to be put back into containment.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a shapeshifting entity. Its main form looks like a twelve-year-old food and water deprived child, with no hair and pale skin. SCP-XXXX’s main form is approximately 1.47 meters tall. Eye-contact is only to be made with SCP-XXXX during testing approved by Dr. ██████.

SCP-XXXX’s anomalous effects appear when eye-contact is made with any creature, living or deceased. When it is observed, it will change to match all the attributes of the subject. It is capable of transforming into any creature, regardless if it has a face or not. However, if eye-contact is not broken, it is unable to change form. SCP-XXXX has exemplary persuading methods and will use them in order to achieve its goal. When organic matter is given to SCP-XXXX, it produces an acidic substance that will melt anything. The acidic substance is assumed to be the bodily fluids of SCP-XXXX. Further testing with the substance is still pending approval from Dr. ██████.

When SCP-XXXX has the color gold in its line of sight, it is unable to shapeshift. Researchers theorize that it can not shapeshift when the color gold is in sight because of its hyper-sensitive eyes. This appears to be the case because it possesses no iris or retina in its eye. Testing with other bright colors and lights has been scheduled. Although it seems it is capable of human communication, all attempts of conversation have been inconclusive. (See Addendum XXXX-A)
