Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: One (1) Cervidae carcass containing SCP-XXXX is to be sealed within a five by five by five (5x5x5) meter containment chamber kept at 35◦C. Personnel must wear padded level 2 biocontainment suits and keep a distance of at least seventy (70) centimeters from the carcass during testing. After testing, the carcass is to be incinerated and replaced with an infected member of the Cervidae family euthanized by intravenous injection of sodium thiopental. Personnel involved in testing are to be scanned for possible infection. Infected personnel are to be restrained from entering a motorized vehicle and given a ten (10) month course of antibiotics.

Description: SCP-XXXX is the designation given to a type of bacteria which affects members of the Cervidae family (commonly known as the deer) and Homo sapiens (humans). Unlike other bacteria, SCP-XXXX has no circular DNA; instead, the genetic material is composed of separate nucleotides, free in the cytoplasm. SCP-XXXX infection of the Cervidae family occurs in three (3) stages.
During the first stage the bacteria integrates itself into the host’s central nervous system. The free nucleotides rearrange themselves and binds together to form an exact copy to the host’s DNA. At this point neural degradation occurs. The neural degradation suffered buy the host causes it to isolate itself from other members of the Cervidae family, often becoming hostile towards them.
