Special Containment Procedures: SCP-2597 is to be kept within a hermetically sealed crate containing a tungsten lining inside the integrity of the standard secure locker. This case is to be contained with at all times. Doors are to be locked at all times, with the exception of allowing personnel in or out. Security Clearance of 3 is needed to gain acsess to SCP-2597 for testing purposes. Guards must remain outside at all times and are not allowed within the containment room under any circumstances. Research personnel are not to touch SCP-2597 at any time. SCP-2597 must be supervised every 3 weeks for changes in behavior. Anyone who comes into contact with SCP-2597 will need to be taken to the emergency ward for further medical evaluation.

Description: SCP-2597 appears to be a packet of M-80 firecrackers, that has a logo that says Dr Wondertainment's Funtastic Poppers! They always end up in the packet after removal, unless detonated, then another materializes in the packet.

Inside, the firecracker has a compound of black powder, sulfur, and some unknown chemicals. The item, when in contact with anyone, the fuse automatically lights, and the firecracker will detonate like a kiloton neutron bomb, hence the construction of it's containment box, D-Class that come into contact with SCP-2597, will most likely not survive. The firecrackers were found in the ruins of a house in █████, in a charred box, that says, Dr Wondertainment! Anything caught with this can be extremely harmful.

Any D-Class Personnel that are within 5 meters of SCP-2597, they need to be supervised by at least one guard at all times, behind a one way wall, with reinforced glass, and having the wall be made of concrete no slimmer than 8 meters. When SCP-2597 placed in the hand of an individual, the object will light and will burn for about 45 seconds, before it detonates. It's unknown compounds are suspect to be uranium, but some believe it is some other compound, testing is being done at the time of writing, more information will be found out in the time being. Subject was found dead in the cell of SCP-2597, all that was left of him was his ashes, and a charred hand. Nevertheless, The subject demonstrated the ability of SCP-2597 and the D-Class's body experienced severe structural damage, the corpse was left, with no recognizable features left, and the fingers were too burned to retrieve an identity. No effect is found to be had when they placed it in the hand of a deceased D-Class.

Addendum 2597-1: Subject came out of SCP-2597’s cell with extreme burns on his face, hands, and legs, with a hole in his chest, Dr. █████ peered in and saw a hole in the floor, with smoke pluming out of it.

Mobile Task Force Operator: “He went up to it as instructed, and he grabbed one of the firecrackers, and it lit up!”
Dr.█████: “Interesting, anything else?”

Mobile Task Force Operator: “Yeah, when the thing blew up, it destroyed the man, he literally turned to ashes! I went in there to see if there was anything left, but all that was left was the packet of firecrackers, and his hand, in his ashes.”
Dr.█████: “I will make sure that we will keep note of this situation, I thank you for your time.”
Mobile Task Force Operator: “I don't get payed enough for this, this is insane.”
