Orixid's SCP Sandbox

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is currently situated in room 308 located in the on-site psychotherapy medical hub at Site-██. SCP-XXXX-01 does not materialize physically and willingly remains in the room at all times, as such, the door to room 308 remains unlocked and open to any staff members at all times. The door may be locked from the inside.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a seemingly normal lounge chair made from genuine black leather and hard rosewood chair legs. Subjects who have laid down on SCP-XXXX have reported a smell of "Brand new furniture" despite being acquired in 19██.

When anyone lies down on SCP-XXXX, a Caucasian man of standard build walks into view of whoever is lying down and anyone else present in the room at the time. The man is hereby refereed to as SCP-XXXX-01 and can be seen by anyone but does not have a physical grasp of this reality and can only visually and aurally project themselves onto our plane of existence, as explained by SCP-XXXX-01.

SCP-XXXX-1 is an approximately 35 year old male calling himself ███████ ██████████, also claiming to have a Masters degree in psychology and an MD degree that he claims to have acquired from Harvard State University1. Despite the SCP foundation being in possession of SCP-XXXX for ██ years, neither it nor SCP-XXXX-1 seem to age, or do so at a very slow pace.

SCP-XXXX-01 will approach whoever is laying down and introduces himself to them and anyone else in the room if it is the first time they meet. SCP-XXXX-01 then begins what could only be described as a regular visit to a psychologist but can also emit a diagnosis like a psychiatrist.

The anomalous feature unique to SCP-XXXX-01 is their very high success rate in the treatment or suppression of mental illness or disorder. Treatment is only effective as long as a patient follows a regiment set by SCP-XXXX-01 consisting of regular visits and prescribed medication for more serious cases.

Disorders such as anxiety and addictive behavior are treated and resolved 97% over the course of 6 months, whereas more deep-rooted illnesses such as PTSD and depression have a 88% success rate in suppression over the course of 2 years.

The high success rate stems not from SCP-XXXX-01 himself, but rather from the anomalous abilities of SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-01 describes himself as only an above average psychiatrist and admits without SCP-XXXX, he would never achieve high success rates.

Addendum:

Subjects who visit SCP-XXXX-01 after having made a recovery from a mental issue treated by SCP-XXXX-01 will have a reportedly pleasant conversation with SCP-XXXX-1, talking about how their recovery has been going and generally friendly remarks. If SCP-XXXX-1 happens to be speaking to a level 4 or higher member of personnel, SCP-XXXX-01 asks only once if it is possible to leave his personal reality to go out and help as much people as possible, but each have been instructed to inform SCP-XXXX-01 that nothing can be done about his current emplacement.
