Item #: SCP-████

Object Class: Euclid

IMPORTANT: Knowledge of the details of SCP-████ is restricted to research staff headed by Dr. Eldridge. Persons outside the research team requesting access to information regarding SCP-████ must have authorization from either Dr. Eldridge or Level 5 personnel assigned to the site. Continue at own risk.

Special Containment Procedures: The only surviving instance of the ultra-contagious virus, designated as SCP-████, is contained in a 0.5 meter tall cylindrical airtight aluminum canister, the top and bottom faces of which are thicker than the rest of the canister. The air pressure within the canister should be monitored and kept at -50 PSI via a rubber sealed nozzle at the bottom of the canister (which fits into a nipple in the base of the canister's iron capsule). To ensure the proteins remain in a dormant noncontagious state, the pressure must remain at -50 PSI at all times. Level 4 Personnel should be notified immediately if there is any sudden or gradual change in the canister's air pressure, and all non-critical personnel should leave the holding area until the canister's air pressure has been restored to -50 PSI.

The pressurized canister containing SCP-████ should be stored in a 10 cm thick iron capsule. The capsule will be sealed with a similarly constructed iron cap, which has two (2) locks, one on either side. Either lock will need a different key to open it, and as a rule no one personnel may possess both keys at the same time. One key will remain locked in a small safe at the opposite end of the containment area, while the other will remain in the keeping Dr. Eldridge, Level 4 personnel and administrator of the SCP-████ research project. The vault may only be opened by Level 4 personnel assigned to SCP-████, and any other staff wishing to access the vault must have signed and documented approval from Level 4 staff assigned to the site. Any personnel found in possession of both keys for SCP-████'s capsule locks without authorization from Level 5 Staff on site will be terminated after after brief questioning regarding how the keys were obtained.

The sealed capsule containing SCP-████ should be placed directly in the middle of a lead-lined steel cell, located at the far end of a long lobby which houses the team's equipment and the vault with the keys. A single industrial-strength blast door will separate the vault from the rest of the containment area, and can be opened via a small computer terminal, which also opens the key safe. The door to this vault may not be opened unless one Level 4 personnel (with key) is present, as well as one Level 4 person (with key) or one authorized Level 2 researcher (with key). All non-critical personnel should the be The vault door and containment area should be guarded by four (4) lightly armed security personnel, rotated in six (6) hour shifts. Under no circumstances are security, maintenance, or janitorial personnel be allowed inside the vault containing SCP-████.

To ensure there is no chance of contamination, all security, maintenance, and janitorial personnel will not be aware of what is inside the vault. Any research personnel working within the containment area are required not to speak about any procedures, tests, or studies regarding SCP-████ while within fifteen (15) meters (earshot) of any non-relevant personal (security, etc). All relevant research assistants and personnel have also been informed not to discuss the size, shape, color, texture, or any other tactile or visual information regarding SCP-████, its functions, or its containment procedures.

Researchers working in the containment area are encouraged

Description: SCP-████ is a hyper-contagious biological contaminant. Exact categorization of the contaminant is currently impossible, due to the unstable and unpredictable behavior of the organism, but for now it has been loosely categorized as a infectious virus. Manifestations of the virus spread by SCP-████ are designated as SCP-████-01.

SCP-████-01 is extremely easy to accidentally contract, any sentient persons within a 30 meter radius of the the root virus tissue (SCP-████) are potential hosts for cases of SCP-████-01.
