Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX must be contained in no smaller than a 10 m x 10 m room with no less than (3) one-way mirrors on separate walls. (4) children ages █ to (10) must actively engage with SCP-XXXX, most effectively by pretending to be an SCP Foundation Researcher. Other imaginative displays that work are anything that includes the imprisonment of SCP-XXXX. The children are to be provided with materials necessary to the enhancing of their environment, such as cardboard, glue, safety scissors, paper, etc.

A standby group of children is to be held outside of SCP-XXXX's containment room, and SCP-XXXX's containment room is to be no more than (5) km from an SCP Foundation established daycare center and SCP Foundation established permanent housing for families with children. In the event that SCP-XXXX manifests elsewhere, the appointed SCP Research Team is to locate SCP-XXXX by checking the before-mentioned locations. In the case that SCP-XXXX is to not be located at any of the before-mentioned locations, the appointed SCP Research Team is to search the nearest civilization. Upon location, Class-A Amnesiac is to be applied to the affected children or adults, and SCP-XXXX is to be drawn back with a new group of SCP Foundation approved children.

Most importantly, SCP-XXXX's containment must be at least (50) km from any humanoid SCPs within the mentioned age group, unless arranged by Class A Personnel. (See Addendum XXXX-3)

Description: SCP-XXXX was discovered after the foundation investigated multiple reports of children talking to toys in the town of ██████, Texas. There are no reports of malignant action by SCP-XXXX, yet caution is advised.

SCP-XXXX takes the form of its chosen child's favorite toy. It cannot move, but can speak to the children it chooses, taking the name of Pobo. SCP-XXXX seems to enjoy the presence of children and enjoys being a source of happiness to them. It befriends the children and is always the object of a game that the children play, usually deriving from the children's imagination. SCP-XXXX maintains a relationship with a child or group of children for a minimum of (2) weeks, while the maximum length of time it has stayed with one group of children being (5) months. It leaves due to its tiring of the children, or the children's tiring of it. Research on SCP-XXXX's behavior shows that with its willingness to keep its children happy, it "plays" along with their game. Appointed personnel recommend that the children involve the imprisonment of SCP-XXXX in their game, as SCP-XXXX has stayed longer under these types of engagements. Recorded "games" played with SCP-XXXX have ranged from children pretending to be scientists, to a wild-west shootout. SCP-XXXX's preferred interaction has been peaceful, with the children's violence decreasing the time it stays with the children. Children's sleep patterns seem to not affect SCP-XXXX's willingness to stay.

Adult interaction with SCP-XXXX is not recommended. Adult humans can not hear SCP-XXXX's voice, yet any direct acknowledgement of SCP-XXXX by anyone over (10) years old ends up in SCP-XXXX fleeing and finding new subjects. SCP-XXXX seems to not recognize its containment, or it is content with the SCP Foundation's supplication of children for it to interact with. SCP Foundation Personnel have discovered that SCP-XXXX is (50)% more active when no adults are in the same room as it, resulting in the installation of one-way mirrors.

Addendum XXXX-1 Interview With Andrew ███████

Interviewee: Andrew ███████, Age 8
Interviewer: Noah █████, Class B Personnel assigned to SCP-XXXX
Foreword: Andrew was a part of the ██th group of children to interact with SCP-XXXX. This interview was after SCP-XXXX had left.
Dr. █████: Hello Andrew.
Andrew: Hi.
Dr. █████: Did you have fun playing with SCP— I mean Pobo?
Andrew: Yeah, I like him. He was nice and funny, too.
Dr. █████: Did he talk to you?
Andrew: His voice was funny. He made funny noises, too. He was Jessica's favorite toy >though, a Barbie. Andrew sticks out his tongue
Dr. █████: Did he ever move?
Andrew: No, we moved him. He was a good prisoner for my jail. But Jessica always wanted >to play doctor with him, and we would fight.
Dr. █████: And what would Pobo do when you fought? Did he get angry or punish you?
Andrew: Pobo never gets angry. He would make us share him, and sometimes make his own games. They were always fun. Can I go to the bathroom now? And go home?
Dr. █████: Yes, of course. Thank you Andrew.

Addendum XXXX-3

Upon the discovery of SCP-XXXX, approximately (4) months after first containment, SCP-XXXX appeared to SCP-1192's presence. Instead of the immediate termination of the interaction, a Class-A researcher decided to study the results of this accident.

Day 1: SCP-XXXX appears as a pencil. SCP-1192 seems confused at first, then delighted. It squawks and writes to SCP-1192.

Day 6: SCP-1192 flies around its aviary. It holds SCP-XXXX in its mouth.

Day 13: SCP-XXXX assists in unobservable ways in the playing of video games with SCP-1192.

Day 15: SCP-XXXX leaves. SCP-1192 continues to be happy, and doesn't feel sorrow of the loss of SCP-XXXX, though does write Pobo daily.

Continued exposure to SCP-1192 has been attempted but SCP-XXXX seems unwilling to return.
