SCP-####

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-#### must be kept within any small container. The object is not to be handled with bare hands or gloves. Any personnel who come into contact with SCP-#### should be examined immediately for mental incapacitation and suicidal risk.

Description: SCP-#### is a dodecahedron stone 16.8 centimeters in diameter from tip to tip. The material is a tachylite that cannot be scratched or chipped using any method. It's mass is approximately 26 kilograms. A strong magnetic field surrounds SCP-#### in a five meter radius. Revision 05/02/██: Current location of SCP-#### is unknown at this time.

The stone has a deteriorating effect on the cerebrum. This alters the victim's memory, reasoning ability, and voluntary control. SCP-#### starts the deterioration when a person comes into contact of it. Tests show that the effects vary from person to person. 52% of Class D personnel committed suicide, 37% were mentally incapacitated, and 11% fell into depression from altered memories. Gloves offer no protection from the harmful effects.

SCP-#### appears to have a telepathic ability in the one case of SCP-####-1. No tests have been able to prove this to be true, as all testers have been rendered unable to convey any information concerning it. Revision 11/28/██: Four testers recovered from their depression and stated they felt like they were in danger before coming into contact with the stone. Two stated they felt as if someone was with them when they made contact with the stone.

SCP-#### was discovered in a mining expedition in South Africa inside of an underground cavern. Inside the cavern were drawings of SCP-#### and writings in an unknown language on the walls. Reports from the miners interviewed stated that they felt [DATA EXPUNGED].

13 mining workers reported seeing a small Asian boy, later identified as SCP-####-1, carrying SCP-#### while pacing across the room. It is assumed that the boy was responsible for the drawings and markings on the walls. When the workers confronted the boy, he dropped SCP-#### and ran out of the cavern. At that point, the workers removed SCP-#### from the cavern.

The 13 miners who reported seeing SCP-####-1 committed suicide after obtaining SCP-####. Other miners who came into contact with SCP-#### and survived became mentally incapacitated while repeating the phrase, "Why must it hurt me?". Later interviews with those miners provided only the repeated phrase. Mobile Task Force Iota-2 retrieved SCP-#### and transported it to Site 34.

SCP-####-1 was recently found, but died shortly after interrogations from the Foundation. The cause of death was determined as malaria by a Foundation medical examiner. Interview with SCP-####-1 is detailed in Interview 22-1c. It appears SCP-####-1 was immune to the effects of SCP-####, as he did not show any signs of mental incapacitation or suicidal risk. Tests conducted show SCP-####-1 to be a normal, malnourished, male human.
