Multiple EIT¹ snapshots of SCP-5XXX

Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-5XXX is contained in two (2) conjoined sections of Area-47 designated as Alpha-One and Theta-Zero on the northeast side of the facility.² Sections Theta-Zero and Alpha-One are both TEMPEST certified shelters and each incorporates an embedded Grade-V lead-lined faraday cage. Section Alpha-One is the primary testing center for all research and experiments conducted on SCP-5XXX. Section Theta-Zero is a personnel lounge fitted with a one (1) meter thick lead-based glass window pane that bisects the room from the floor to the ceiling, so that SCP-5XXX may safely make scheduled visits with authorized staff to prevent it from feeling isolated.

• SCP-5XXX may only visit with authorized personnel on the grounds that “Procedure 731/Nekoma” is thoroughly performed daily and after all research sessions by Dr. Zhivago and his “Unit 731” staff.³ This protocol is required even if testing has not been performed. In order to protect Area-47’s staff against SCP-5XXX’s calamitous effects and safeguard the integrity of SCP-5XXX’s tranquil essence the following precautions must enforced:

• Every six (6) hours, one (1) Class C or Class E member of Area-47 will establish contact with SCP-5XXX to ensure it does not slip into a state of loneliness.

• SCP-5XXX will be assigned one (1) service dog to accompany it at all times for companionship. The animal is to be immediately replaced if lost or deceased.

• A team of six (6) full-time psychotherapists will rotate shifts to continuously provide SCP-5XXX with sincere social interaction. This team will also monitor SCP-5XXX for any changes in demeanor and present outlook towards its mission.

___The O5 Command and SCP-5XXX have an active working agreement so that as long as SCP-5XXX assists with various research assignments and expeditions, the Foundation will mitigate the side effects and irregularities caused by an extrinsic contagion affecting it as well as explore ways to assist it in finding its way back to its place of origin.⁴ (See Addendum 5XXX-IV/A: Expedition-Report-Log-5XXX-Φ-Tiānshén for all recorded Foundation expeditions.)

While undergoing testing and research of any type, SCP-5XXX will be sealed inside section Alpha-One. Containment procedures during testing are as follows in the case SCP-5XXX is noncooperative or makes any attempt to escape:

• The central A.I. “RAIJIN” is responsible for charging the main internal neodymium-doped phosphate glass laser grid to 75 YG (Yotta-Joules). An optical gyroscope will then establish an orbital path of the laser to surround SCP-5XXX.
• The auxiliary A.I. “EXHO” is assigned to priming the secondary external ytterbium-doped optical fiber laser grid to a nominal 34 ZG (Zetta-Joules). Gas-bearing gyroscopes will be responsible for keeping the external laser grid accurately trained on calculated weak points in the internal laser grid.
• In conjunction, these Class IV lasers will effectively seal SCP-5XXX in a controlled working area.
• Once testing has been concluded, staff will transport SCP-5XXX to the operating table where "Procedure 731/Nekoma" will be performed.⁵
• In cases of rare occurrence if SCP-5XXX overpowers the binary laser grid and should ever breach initial containment, the Area-47 emergency failsafe "Protocol Asura Rising" shall commence automatically.

 Protocol Asura Rising 

In the event “Procedure 731/Nekoma” is unable to be performed and a potential breach is imminent, the contingency method designated “Protocol Asura Rising” will be enacted in the following manner:

• Area-47 Director, Harleen Fisher, will unlock and override all system restrictions for the on-site central A.I. “RAIJIN”.
• All personnel will shelter-in-place at the nearest Grade-IX Faraday cage. Personnel will be securely contained inside.
• RAIJIN will take full command of the facility’s defensive and offensive measures.
• The auxiliary A.I. “EXHO” will initiate the six (6) main on-site super-cooled nuclear magnetic resonance field rings (SNMR/FR).
• Area-47 will be immediately flooded with a rich concentration of hydrogen (H) gas.
• RAIJIN will trigger the localized 450 GT (Giga-Tesla) nuclear magnetic field and commence an alternating pulse sequence between all six (6) rings.
• RAIJIN will sustain an active nuclear magnetic resonance field until Area-47 sensors deem SCP-5XXX temporarily incapacitated.
• RAIJIN will flush the hydrogen (H) gas from the facility and monitor Area-47 until all systems are nominal.
• EXHO will cycle the shelter airlocks and release personnel once the area is habitable.
• Off-site recovery crews will be brought in while SCP-5XXX is incapacitated to perform “Procedure 731/Nekoma” to return SCP-5XXX to its original state.⁶

Location:

SCP-5XXX is located in Area-47, approximately six-hundred forty-three (643) miles off the southwestern coast of Zanzibar, Tanzania. Area-47 is a subaquatic humanoid research facility roughly one-thousand three-hundred nineteen (1,319) miles below the surface of the Indian Ocean near the Mozambique channel. Area-47 was initially constructed for in-depth research of SCP-████. Following the neutralization of SCP-████ the site has been upgraded and recommissioned for its new mission with SCP-5XXX.

Physical Features:

• SCP-5XXX is a sentient humanoid entity resembling a human female measuring one-point-six-three (1.63) meters in height and at rest⁸ weighs forty-seven (47) kg.
• The entity’s body is primarily composed of an unidentifiable⁹ translucent supercritical superfluid (SCSF).¹⁰
• The subject emits strong levels of Cherenkov radiation, giving off a soft blue luminescence measured at ranges of ten (10) nm to four-hundred fifty (450) nm in wavelength and all emitted photons steadily produce █.██ eV of energy.¹¹
• SCP-5XXX can apparently suppress its hazardous levels of extreme ultraviolet radiation (XUV) seemingly at will by increasing or decreasing the density of the superfluid that shapes its body mass.¹² The subject seems to suppress the radiation when it is in the presence of an organism it does not wish harm.

Metaphysical Characteristics:

___The initial Area-47 staff perished due to succumbing to acute radiation syndrome (ARS). The discovery of this incident was brought to the Foundation's attention when an off-site overwatch post reported that the original Area-47 Director, Jaime Marlowe, missed her daily check-in sequence. The overwatch post had also reported alarms being triggered by unsafe radiation levels.¹³ Once a skeleton crew response team was assembled and had made direct contact with SCP-5XXX, technicians on the crew noticed radiations levels plummeted to 0.01 mSv (millisieverts).

SCP-5XXX will neurologically alter an individual’s cerebellum to call it “Deviraya”, which prevents SCP-5XXX from being called by its official SCP item number designation by staff.¹⁴

___Through rigorous testing, Unit 731 has concluded that this malignant side effect occurs only when SCP-5XXX is put in isolation. A Unit 731 after-action report details SCP-5XXX becoming physically and psychologically unstable and achieves spontaneous fission while beginning to radiate extremely high levels of radiation. Geiger counter readings indicate SCP-5XXX enters a hypercritical state, triggering a strong nuclear chain reaction. Numerous quantum computer simulations of this event hint at a potential “pair-instability hypernova”¹⁵ incident. (See Addendum 5XXX-VII/A: Containment-Log-5XXX-1/A)

___SCP-5XXX at times exhibits a somber behavior and will seek out conversation with anyone who will make time for a discussion. Researchers have observed that SCP-5XXX instills a pleasant sensation of feeling free of harm while nearby.¹⁶Many individuals that have interacted with SCP-5XXX proclaimed that it gave them a sense of security and emotional warmth.¹⁷ SCP-5XXX also seems to be able to talk to staff members in any language, closely recreating their dialect and intonation. Fluency in languages seems to come natural and it seems to be aware of customs and courtesies for human interaction. Its demeanor resembles that of a young adult as to how it expresses itself or engages with others.

___While undergoing destructive testing to determine if SCP-5XXX is capable of being neutralized, researchers have recorded that when it is physically assaulted it can pass through solid matter to escape. (See Addendum 5XXX-VI/A: Incident-Log-5XXX-RED/9)

___During aptitude testing the entity has exhibited inherent omniscience and omnipotent abilities, both of which are heavily restricted. SCP-5XXX has sensed that this restriction appears to be caused by the presence of an unrecognized entity in our reality. This unidentified foreign abstract seems to be slowly infecting SCP-5XXX’s body and is gradually corrupting its psychological state.¹⁸ (See Addendum 5XXX-IX/A: Aptitude-Test-Log-1A)

___SCP-5XXX has informed researchers that it is from a concurrent sister reality but was allegedly pulled into our reality when an unknown entity triggered the rare formation of a unique magnetar causing a “Type II Superluminous Super-Nova Remnant” (Type II - SLSNe/R) event. Starbreaker Incident:

___Due to the nature and composition of SCP-5XXX's atomic structure, it becomes extremely unstable once every twenty (20) years as its body stores cosmic background radiation energy over time. Researchers have learned that SCP-5XXX will require a safe location to purge this excess energy. Once every two (2) decades the Foundation will give SCP-5XXX coordinates to a nearby star system one million (1,000,000) light-years away from Earth to await its inevitable purge event. Foundation asteroseismologists have recorded it producing from thirty-six (36) to one-hundred eighty-seven (187) starquakes per minute during this event.¹⁹ During this event, with SCP-5XXX at the epicenter, the area of effect observed reaches a diameter of five hundred thousand (500,000) light-years across. Due to the strength of this purge event nearby galaxies or fragmented star systems are immediately overwhelmed and annihilated.

• SCP-5XXX has shown to exhibit a useful anomalous ability that has piqued the Foundation’s interest for potential in-depth research of previously inaccessible subjects of study. SCP-5XXX has the ability to amorphously reconfigure its body and rematerialize itself into any organism or system it comes into sensory contact with. In extremely rare instances, certain SCPs have prevented SCP-5XXX from properly transmuting back into its original state. The Foundation has developed “Protocol-731/Nekoma” to rectify this effect. • Researchers have observed SCP-5XXX being capable of generating a single temporary twin of itself, known as SCP-5XXX-A. It can apparently only create one (1) identical version of itself at any given time. Primary analysis has revealed that SCP-5XXX and SCP-5XXX-A are a quantumly entangled pair meaning that SCP-5XXX can remotely control the twin of its own free will. SCP-5XXX has confessed this ability is difficult to perform and causes physical distress during the creation of its short-lived twin.²⁰

Due to the naturally occurring hazards of SCP-5XXX's original reality, it has evolved to protect itself under the conditions of its previous universe. The natural environment SCP-5XXX is accustomed to is far more violent than our own reality. It has a remarkably extraordinary aura that will nullify the effects of the following scenarios limited to within a specific range of SCP-5XXX:

On █/█/██, two Soviet spacecraft Venera 11 and 12, were both locked in a heliocentric orbit around Venus when they were hit by a gamma-ray burst (GRB) at approximately ██:██ EST. This contact spiked the radiation readings on both probes from a normal reading of 100 counts per second to over ███,███ counts per second, in only a fraction of a millisecond.

___Approximately eleven (11) seconds later, Helios 2, a NASA probe, while in orbit around the Sun, was saturated by the blast of radiation. Seconds later, Earth received the wave of radiation, where the powerful output of gamma rays inundated the detectors of three U.S. Department of Defense Vela satellites, the Soviet Prognoz 7 satellite, and the Einstein Observatory. Just before the wave exited the Solar System, the blast also hit the International Sun-Earth Explorer (ISEE-3).

___This extremely powerful blast of gamma radiation constituted the strongest wave of extra-solar gamma rays ever detected.²² Due to gamma-rays traveling at the speed of light, the time of the pulse was recorded by several distant spacecraft as well as on Earth. The source of the gamma radiation could be calculated to an accuracy of about two (2) arcseconds.

___The direction of the source corresponded with the remnants of a star that had gone hypernova around 3000 B.C.E. and was found to be from deep within the Large Magellanic Cloud near LMC N49. The source was named SGR 0525-66 and the event itself was classified as GRB 790305b, which was the first empirically observed soft gamma repeater (SGR/Magnetar) mega-flare.

Response:

The readings were stored and queued for quantum processing by the CAINE-MKIV astrological datacenter and upon completion, the Foundation was able to decipher the data set. The readings were an indication of a “Type VI Zeta-Carrington” event. Upon discovering the apparent cause of these gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), Foundation space assets were pooled to direct all probes part of the Deep Space Surveillance Network (DSSN) towards the point of origin. The researchers analyzed what was speculated to be an intricate SOS attempt.

The calculated point of origin was three million (3,000,000) light-years away, relative to Earth, in the constellation of “Dorado”. Researchers directly observed and acquired a lock on an entity rapidly approaching Earth at approximately nine-hundred fifty thousand percent (950,000%) the speed of light. SCP-5XXX was tracked for ████ (█) months before it made contact with Earth.

Over the course of the ████ (█) month period tracking SCP-5XXX, Foundation researchers observed SCP-5XXX being caught in the gravity of a supermassive binary black hole (SMBBH) system. Instruments recorded SCP-5XXX nearly succumbing to the two supermassive black hole’s gravities, upon further observation SCP-5XXX rapidly increased its mass and density high enough to rupture both black holes. This event allowed the Foundation to be the first known group to examine the core of a black hole and study a singularity occurrence in real-time.

___SCP-5XXX immediately made itself known to the Foundation, specifically Dr. Jessica Meriwether²³, where it requested assistance to find a way back into its own reality. 1. Due to the nature of SCP-5XXX, the Foundation designed a modified version of an extreme ultraviolet imaging telescope (EIT) to take photographs of SCP-5XXX in various light spectrums. An anomalous effect occurs on most images taken of SCP-5XXX as they regularly become fragmented or corrupted.

2. SCP-5XXX is only permitted clearance to leave Area-47 in the event of a two-thirds vote by the entire O5 command. Researcher directed assignments occurring outside Area-47 must be signed off by a Level 5/5XXX authorized Area-47 director.
