Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Instances of SCP-XXXX are to be contained with a standard non-trespassing perimeter and disinformation campaign B-047 "Robert Smithson". In places of private property, all witnesses to the initial appearance of SCP-XXXX are to be issued Class-A amnestics. The only currently known method to halt SCP-XXXX when in an active state is to sever it's cord at any point. Special tools are not required beyond what is necessary for whatever the substance in question would require in a non-anomalous state. In cases where SCP-XXXX appears to be made of an unknown substance, please consult Test Log-002 for options for severing. SCP-XXXX is rendered non-anomalous at this juncture and can be safely removed and the containment site reopened.

Description:SCP-XXXX is a cord-like manifestation around geological instances of faults, crevices or other breaks in an otherwise smooth landscape. The size of the geological formations targeted varies from 20 cm in depth at the smallest to 829 m at ████████. The geological feature is always significantly longer than it is wide, and sinkhole and craters have shown no instance of the anomaly.

SCP-XXXX manifests as a cord-like substance of varying composure woven through the surrounding landscape and crossing the gap at the instance of the fault. The composure has not shown to correspond with the nature of the material the anomaly passes through and when whole, the cord shows a marked resistance to breakage through any method besides severance. Testing has not shown any discernible breaking point of a whole cord. Cord fragments retain none of this strength and revert to the standard breaking strain of their native substance.
