Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX instances are retained in Cell 291 through 297, 299, and 301 within Sector-7 of Armed Containment Area-247. Containment chambers are 12 m x 12 m x 2.5 m concrete enclosures and are to contain a maximum of 7 SCP-XXXX instances. Chamber interiors are to be monitored at all times via recessed infrared cameras. Respective chambers may only be entered if all instances within the enclosure are heavily sedated, provided each instance has not reached Stage 2 of their breakdown cycle. Personnel are to maintain a distance of at least 1 m from each instance. If an instance is to reach Stage 2 of its breakdown cycle, all personnel within the chamber are to be evacuated immediately.
Should an instance near completion of its breakdown cycle, a single sus scrofa domesticus1 is to be led into and sealed within the chamber. The SCP-XXXX instance must completely assimilate the provided prey before personnel are allowed within the cell.
Sightings of potential SCP-XXXX instances are to be investigated immediately, and Mobile Task Force Iota-9 ("Oceania Takedown") is to be dispatched when an instance's presence has been confirmed. Iota-9 is to ensure an instance has not began its breakdown cycle before containment procedures are initiated. Should an instance have begun its breakdown cycle, a sus scrofa domesticus is to be dispatched within its vicinity once Stage 2 is reached and all MTF agents present are to maintain a distance of at least 70 m until the provided animal is assimilated.
Description: SCP-XXXX are a reptilian-esque species of quadrupedal predators indigenous to the southern coastline of New Zealand. SCP-XXXX average 2.4 meters on all fours when measured from the head to the abdomen2 and on average weigh 225 kg. SCP-XXXX are nearsighted and are unable to easily distinguish anything more than 2 meters in front of them, and instead rely on pit glands to detect infrared radiation in order to locate prey. Despite SCP-XXXX having mouths, instances do not require consumption, and are used exclusively for biting and fueling its prey's respiratory system. Six 2 cm fangs line the front of the upper and lower jaws, each laced with a tranquilizing agent with similar effects to that of xylazine. Bites from SCP-XXXX cause little injury and have never been recorded as fatal.
SCP-XXXX instances typically reside alone3 in lightly forested regions. However, SCP-XXXX appear to be content in sharing containment chambers with other instances and express minimal hostility. Interspecies assimilation between SCP-XXXX has never been recorded.
SCP-XXXX live off of other organisms, and will assimilate most animals, presuming they can provide enough sustenance. SCP-XXXX have thin curved trays that protrude from their lumbar and are capable of extending and warping to fit the organism they intend to assimilate. Upon the complete sedation of a chosen host, an instance will dislodge its tray to wrap around the animal; the trays will then re-attach with its back4. SCP-XXXX instances will release barbiturates into their prey's bloodstream, effectively rendering it in a state of locked-in syndrome. The anomalies are capable of producing an enzyme that both significantly slows down and supplements their prey's digestive system, capable of sustaining it for several months. SCP-XXXX will bond its faux respiratory and excretory systems with its host's, providing oxygen and excreting waste for it. In turn, SCP-XXXX will use the bodies energy to power its own circulatory system.
The host will eventually expire, typically 8 to 9 months after an SCP-XXXX instance bonds with it5. The anomaly will then begin a breakdown process, converting the remains into more energy that it will live off of until another host can be found.
• Stage 1: Hydrochloric acid is released into the chamber created by the trays. The body will slowly break down, taking between 6 and 7 days to be completely dissolved.
• Stage 2: The energy provided by the breakdown will slowly be absorbed by the instance. The instance will typically begin hunting at this point, and will often bite the prey it has selected to prevent it from leaving its vicinity. The trays will unravel from each other and lock back into their original position upon completing the absorption process.
• Stage 3: The anomaly will begin assimilating the recently sedated animal as described above. If a new host cannot be found, its circulatory system will slow down and inevitably cease to function within 40 minutes.
Subject: SCP-XXXX-39
Note: On 10-██-1990 D-9790 was placed in Cell 299 and successfully
assimilated by SCP-XXXX-39.
Procedure: SCP-XXXX-39 will be heavily sedated and desensitized before
being removed from its chamber. SCP-XXXX-39's trays will be severed and the
chamber will be immediately drained of any fluids. D-9790's body will be completely
removed and analyzed.
Results: D-9790's body was retrieved in a state of locked-in syndrome and
subsequently recovered from comatose 9 minutes afterwards. SCP-XXXX-39 was
confirmed deceased 20 minutes after the dissection was completed. The anomalies
body was further dissected and analyzed. D-9790 expired 92 minutes after the
retrieval of his body.
Analysis: D-9790 experienced great distress upon recovering from comatose
and demanded to be re-linked with SCP-XXXX-39. D-9790 described a telepathic
link between him and the anomaly, insisting they were able to forward thoughts and
images to one another. It has not been determined thus far whether D-9790's
aspiration to be with SCP-XXXX-39 was a memetic after effect or an aboriginal desire.
The following is an audio transcript from the interrogation of D-9790 following his recovery from Locked-in syndrome.

Dr. Reid: D-9790, please calm down.
D-9790: No, no! <indecipherable> she… she needs me! You took me…
She'll die! I need her!Dr. Carter: Are referring to the creature that integrated you?
D-9790: It… yes, her. Look, [there's] not much time… <indecipherable>
Dr. Reid: It was using your body as a catalyst to keep itself alive.
D-9790: Yes… yes I know. <pause> But I understand. She can't live
without me. I'm… is she okay?Dr. Carter: The– yes, it is fine. <pause> I do hope you realize… you would
have eventually perished should you have continued to be linked with the anomaly.D-9790: Of course I know! We… she had talked to me about this. About what
I mean to her. Without me, she wouldn't be around now, and because of you…Dr. Reid: We assure you, the anomaly is fine. Now, what do you mean it
talked to you?D-9790: Well, ah, it's not exactly speaking. Directly, I mean. I hear her in my
mind, you know, I'm hearing her mind, and she can hear mine. We talk, all the time.
She explained everything to me. And she appreciates me. it's… I can see it in her
mind. And I'm never hungry, it, it's actually quite comfortable.Doctor Campbell: His blood pressure is significantly increasing. Pulse is
abnormal.Dr. Carter: D-9790, can you tell us anything else it has told you? Anything?
D-9790: Well, she said she had never been paired with a human before me. Do…
can you put us back? Re-attach us?Dr. Reid: We are unsure. Severing the links between the anomaly and yourself
could have caused permanent damage that would inhibit assimilation.Doctor Campbell: Blood pressure is 158/105, this isn't looking good.
D-9790: What? No, you have-
Dr. Carter: Look, we're not sure how much longer we'll be able to speak with
you. Do you have any idea where the anomaly came from? When, where, and how
was it conceived?[WIP]

Object Class: Euclid Keter
Special Containment Procedures: Both instances of SCP-XXXX are kept within a concrete containment chamber in Site-121. Recessed cameras are installed within the containment chamber. Walls are completely soundproof and no windows are present. If SCP-XXXX-A creates any item that could be a potential threat to the security and/or safety of personnel, it is to be immediately removed from the instance’s possession.
Site-121 is to be under strict quarantine at all times. If any instance of SCP-XXXX is to breach the lockdown, it is to be immediately terminated, as are any personnel it comes in contact with. Any strange activity regarding a toy penguin is to be immediately reported and investigated.
Description: SCP-XXXX refers to two entities, SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B. Both appear to be sentient plush toy penguins, each being of different brands, textures, sizes, and shapes. Each of them are sentient and mobile6. Both instances believe that they belong to an unidentified police force, and had claimed that their main goal was to prepare the site for their king. It is currently unknown which king they were referring to, or even if said king exists, as both instances of SCP-XXXX refused to speak of their leader7. Upon being separated from each other, both anomalies will express extreme depression, and often begin to act violently if not reunited8. Both instances were discovered in the remains of the residence belonging to the ████████ family, following the complete collapse of the structure.
SCP-XXXX-A is a plush toy penguin of an unidentified brand, and is the more volatile of the two instances. It is 33 cm in height and has a weight of approximately 3 kg. It appears to be fairly content around Foundation staff, however it makes very common attempts to breach containment. See Addendum-XXXX for more information. SCP-XXXX-A appears to be capable of producing objects out of thin air, or alternatively SCP-XXXX-B's throat. Each of SCP-XXXX-A’s items will often exhibit unusual and seemingly random properties. Each of these objects will often disappear in one or another, often depending on the objects properties.
SCP-XXXX-B appears to be a [REDACTED] brand penguin plush toy with a height of 52 cm and a weight of 5 kg. Being the more passive of the two, SCP-XXXX-B appears to express extreme elation around any personnel, and will attempt to smash through any surfaces if it detects personnel. However, as long as no windows are present and the containment chamber is soundproof, it does not appear capable of detecting said personnel. SCP-XXXX-B can exert forces well over 6000 N.
SCP-XXXX-B is capable of gliding using its wings, allowing it to fly above the ground for short periods of time. It should also be noted that on extremely rare occasions, SCP-XXXX-B will attempt to inhale random objects/organisms, whether it be one of SCP-XXXX-A’s items or foundation personnel. It will never inhale SCP-XXXX-A. During this process, the instance can expand its mouth to over 25 times its normal size, allowing it to swallow extremely large objects. Inhalation of an object seems to have very minor affects on its weight9, which will return to normal roughly 3-5 hours after inhalation takes place.
Following the events of █/█/200█, SCP-XXXX-1 now refers to any anomalous plush toy penguin to now occupy Site-121 that in any way resembles/correlates to the original two instances. Any instance of SCP-XXXX-1 is capable of transforming personnel into another instance within several minutes10; typically only brief contact is required to begin the process. How exactly this occurs is unknown. It is undetermined whether or not SCP-XXXX-1 can exhibit anomalous qualities similar to those of SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B.
Note: All of the following incidents occurred between ██/█/199█ and █/██/200█.
Incident Report XXXX-A-1: SCP-XXXX-A attempted to use a door to smash down the walls of its containment chamber. Two members of the cleanup team died due to fatal splinter infections. The splinters appeared to contain traces of Malaria.
Incident Report XXXX-A-2: SCP-XXXX-A attempted to use a [REDACTED] laptop to search up “How to escape from [a] concrete chamber”. No helpful results were found. SCP-XXXX-B proceeded to inhale the laptop.
Incident Report XXXX-A-3: SCP-XXXX-A produced a figurine of SCP-XXXX-B and threw it at the wall. The figurine, upon breaking, exploded, chipping the containment chamber walls.
Incident Report XXXX-A-4: SCP-XXXX-A created a sealed plastic bottle filled with sand. Upon opening the bottle, the sand flew to the ceiling and clung there until removed.
Incident Report XXXX-A-5: SCP-XXXX-A created a stinger missile that was never detonated. Upon retrieval of the weapon, the missile began playing the song ██████ at 72 decibels. The sound did not seem to come from any part of the warhead in particular.
Incident Report XXXX-A-6: SCP-XXXX-A produced a guitar and began playing assorted, unidentifiable riffs for 7 hours and 42 minutes without cessation. It then began smashing the equipment against the east wall. Plastic shards from the guitar began ricocheting around the chamber.
Incident Report XXXX-A-7: Upon the destruction of the three cameras, SCP-XXXX-A produced a cement chipper and began burrowing out of the chamber. It took 4 minutes to remove the tool from the instance’s possession.
█/██/199█ Both instances of SCP-XXXX were moved to a more secure containment chamber.
Incident Report XXXX-A-8: SCP-XXXX-A spawned a packet of tissues, of which it began using to wipe down the containment chamber. It should be noted that the tissues never tore, although personnel were not able to study the tissues before SCP-XXXX-B inhaled them.
Incident Report XXXX-A-9: SCP-XXXX-A produced a live polar bear, of which began licking the steel walls, slowly turning the walls purple. After 16 minutes, the polar bear melted.
Incident Report XXXX-A-10: SCP-XXXX-A spawned a [REDACTED] plastic squirt gun and began shooting it at the cleanup team that attempted to confiscate it. It appears as though the squirt gun never ran out of water, although it disintegrated soon after confiscation.
Incident Report XXXX-A-11: SCP-XXXX-A created a remote control capable of opening containment chamber doors. SCP-XXXX-A was able to get outside of the chamber for 7 seconds before being re-contained. During this time, SCP-XXXX-A was able to throw the remote at an MTF agent, electrocuting the man and sending him into a vegetative state, of which he recovered from soon after. The remote eventually exploded.
Incident Report XXXX-A-12: SCP-XXXX-A produced a javelin, of which it began smacking against the eastern wall until personnel entered the chamber. SCP-XXXX-A threw the javelin at one of the agents, embedding it in is right arm. The javelin then began violently vibrating, tearing the persons arm off. The agent has since recovered after being honorably discharged.
Incident Report XXXX-A-13: SCP-XXXX-A spawned a lit stick of dynamite with a fuse 3 kilometers long. The instance then began wildly shaking it, before throwing it at the northern wall. Upon confiscation, it appeared as though the fuse could not be put out, nor could the wire be clipped. The explosive was safely detonated outside of the facility.
Incident Report XXXX-A-14: SCP-XXXX-A produced an 1800s musket and used the bayonet to chip away at the containment chamber door. Upon the opening of the door, SCP-XXXX-A began wildly firing the weapon without the need to reload. Two personnel were injured, and one was killed.
Incident Report XXXX- A/B-1: SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B destroyed the three cameras and then produced a large anti-aircraft turret. SCP-XXXX-A proceeded to begin blowing down the containment chamber walls while SCP-XXXX-B escaped and began knocking personnel over as it glided through Site-121. 12 personnel were injured and 2 were killed. The turret eventually sank into the floor.
█/██/199█ Both instances of SCP-XXXX were moved to a more secure chamber further from staff offices.
Incident Report XXXX-A-15: SCP-XXXX-A produced a butchers knife and began hacking down the containment chamber walls. After 15 minutes of this, SCP-XXXX-A threw the weapon at the wall. The knife then went through the wall and into Dr. ████, whom was studying the instances at the time. Dr. ████ died soon after being skewered by the knife. The knife was never recovered from within her body.
Incident Report XXXX- A/B-2: SCP-XXXX-A spawned a metal spoon and began prying open the containment door with it. Upon escaping, SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B both went in different directions. SCP-XXXX-B was eventually captured after some struggling. Upon the recapture of SCP-XXXX-B, SCP-XXXX-A began running wildly around the facility. Upon being unable to locate his comrade, he promptly threw the spoon down the garbage chute. The spoon was never located.
Incident Report XXXX-A-16: SCP-XXXX-A produced and donned a tuxedo. Upon wearing it, personnel watching through the camera feed became convinced that a member of the Foundation staff was trapped within the chamber. Upon letting SCP-XXXX-A out, it began running wildly through the facility. All personnel it encountered did not react to it in any way. It was not until SCP-XXXX-A disposed of the tuxedo by shoving it down a security agent’s throat that MTF recognized it as SCP-XXXX-A. The security officer died due to asphyxiation, and the tuxedo was never located within his body.
Incident Report XXXX-A/B-3: SCP-XXXX-B began emanating a bright light, blinding all cameras within the room. Personnel witnessing the event through the feed went deaf, although no recorded noise was present upon playback. SCP-XXXX-A then shoved its pseudo flipper down SCP-XXXX-B’s throat, and appeared to pull out a glowing object before the room appeared to explode. 7 square meters of the facility was destroyed, although both instances of SCP-XXXX appeared to be completely fine. 27 people were incinerated during the incident. See Interview Log- XXXX-3 for more information.
█/██/199█ //Both instances of SCP-XXXX were relocated to an isolated chamber far from any offices or other volatile SCPs. Requests were made by staff to reclassify the instances as keter.
█/██/199█ //SCP-XXXX was reclassified as keter.
Incident Report XXXX-A-17: SCP-XXXX-A produced a copy of ████ by ███ ██████ and began reading it aloud. After exactly 6 minutes of this activity, █ nearby personnel spontaneously combusted.
[DATA EXPUNGED]
Incident Report XXXX-1: Site-121 was confirmed compromised. Quarantine was effectively initiated immediately afterwards. All those who successfully evacuated were quarantined and kept under watch for two months following the incident.
Foreword: This interview was conducted following Incident XXXX- A/B-1: Both
instances of SCP-XXXX were in a makeshift containment chamber while a new one
was being produced. SCP-XXXX-B was suppressed to avoid the destruction of the
chamber upon hearing Dr. Wells speak.<Begin Log>
Dr. Wells: Hello. Do you two hear me?
SCP-XXXX-A: Yes. Me hear you.
SCP-XXXX-B: Hi! Who are you?
Dr. Wells: My name is Dr. Wells. I am hear to speak to you regarding
an incident in which you killed several personnel and injured many.SCP-XXXX-A: Ha, you funny, me never do that. Comrade never do that
either. We fine with you, as long as we may protect the crown.Dr. Wells: Do you not recall when you spawned a turret and began
destroying your chamber? During that, you successfully shot several people.SCP-XXXX-B: I remember the big boom thing, the one that made our chamber
explode. Yes I do. I explored this place. It's cramped. Do you ever feel
cramped here?Dr. Wells: No, I do not. Do neither of you realize that you caused bodily harm
to many people?SCP-XXXX-A: No no, you not realize truth. King asked us to destroy
wall with boom thing, and we did. We didn’t hurt anyone, I hope you realize.
We protect. We never hurt.SCP-XXXX-B: Yeah, king told me and I told comrade! We do as king
wishes! Don’t you, Dr.?Dr. Wells: I will be leaving now. Thank you for your time.
<End Log>
Afterword: It currently appears as though both instances of SCP-XXXX do
not realize that they have harmed personnel in their past endeavors. It is
currently unknown how the unidentified king would be telling them this, or
if a king is telling them anything at all.
Foreword: This interview followed Incident XXXX-A/B-3. Both instances
of SCP-XXXX seemed astoundingly passive, and were much more enthusiastic than
usual when talking to Dr. Wells.<Begin Log>
Dr. Wells: Hello?
SCP-XXXX-B: Oh, oh, you’re back! Yay! Are you excited? I’m excited!
Dr. Wells: Pardon? Excited for what?
SCP-XXXX-A: Remember big boom light? It means the crown is coming!
SCP-XXXX-B: Yah! We must prepare for his arrival! It will be joyous! Then
finally, this place will have a real ruler!SCP-XXXX-A: Yes, he will be king of underground!
Dr. Wells: When is this king coming?
SCP-XXXX-B: Soon, very soon!
Dr. Wells: And what, might I ask, does this king plan to do?
SCP-XXXX-A: He will be proper ruler for this place! He make it suitable
home for our kin!Dr. Wells: Kin? There are others like you?
SCP-XXXX-B: Yeah, our brothers, and our sisters, and our parents, and our
families, everyone! It will be a great world! They will make it so much better!Dr. Wells: In what ways will your king–and your people–make it better?
SCP-XXXX-A: Remove all problems!
Dr. Wells: What sort of… problems?
SCP-XXXX-B: Oh, well he will fix you! You are in such bad shape. He will make
you better! Don't you want to be better?Dr. Wells: In what way would your leader make me better?
SCP-XXXX-B: He will make you just like us! Great thing indeed, no?
Dr. Wells: Excuse me… I will talk with you both later.

Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX, located at [DATA EXPUNGED] is to be quarantined at all times. A minimum of four unannounced security personnel are to guard SCP-XXXX. Security and civilian personnel are to never enter the anomaly. SCP-XXXX is to be kept secure and locked, and all locations infected with SCP-XXXX-1 are to be quarantined as well. If any personnel manage to enter SCP-XXXX, they are to be terminated as soon as possible (unless it is decided that they will reside within SCP-XXXX) and are now deemed SCP-XXXX-3. Any personnel afflicted by SCP-XXXX-1 are to never enter any structure with the exception of SCP-XXXX.
Remotely controlled drones are to take routine photographs and footage of the interior of SCP-XXXX. If SCP-XXXX-1 is to ever be seen without the use of film, it is to be destroyed immediately.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a two (2) roomed repurposed fallout shelter located on the northern side of [REDACTED]. The overall exterior, as well as the majority of the interior is typical of a fallout shelter and up to code. The unit is built into the side of a large red stone apartment building, containing twenty-four (24) floors and roughly 500 residents. Only one unit in the building is afflicted by SCP-XXXX-1, labelled apartment 17B. The apartment has been quarantined and completely sealed off. The properties of SCP-XXXX-1 are almost completely unknown, with the exception of how it affects people. The entity will use anyone who enters SCP-XXXX as a "host" to spread it to other locations. As to how this is done is unknown.
SCP-XXXX-1 will only appear in photographs and rarely as a shadow. This entity is vaguely reptilian in appearance, with dark green scales. These scales appear to protrude horizontally out of SCP-XXXX-1. The figure does not appear to have eyes of any kind, and it's snout and mouth look to be toothless. The entity is roughly 2.1 meters in height, often a fair amount taller than those that it appears alongside in photographs. The creature has a thick tail 0.8 meters in length.
In the photographs, the entity will either be seen near the person in the picture or, if no one is present, it will obstruct the photo completely, facing the lens of the camera. SCP-XXXX-1 will only appear this way inside SCP-XXXX. In any other location afflicted by SCP-XXXX-1, the figure will only occasionally appear in photos, often seen using appliances or even lying on top of furniture (i.e. beds, comforters, etc). It is assumed from prior incidents that SCP-XXXX-1 cannot Make physical contact with anyone or anything, and that whatever the creature is seen doing never happened in actuality. It cannot be seen in video footage or heard in an audio recording. It has been confirmed that one cannot be afflicted by SCP-XXXX-1 in any structure unless they specifically enter SCP-XXXX. However, the entity can still be seen in photographs taken in these locations.
The anomalous qualities of SCP-XXXX were first discovered on █/█/19██ when a man named Aleksandr ██████ rented the space for $2,740 a month. Six (6) days after signing the lease to the premise, the man (deemed SCP-XXXX-3A) invited a college friend of his (deemed SCP-XXXX-3B) to visit him in his living quarters. At some point during his friends visit, SCP-XXXX-3A captured a photo of the two together, standing against the back wall up against a wooden cabinet with a metal lamp on top. Upon the development of the photograph, it was found that a third figure was present in the photograph, deemed SCP-XXXX-1.
SCP-XXXX-3A, after residing in SCP-XXXX for roughly two (2) weeks, reportedly began showing signs of extreme depression as well as exhibiting bipolar tendencies. No other personnel entered the shelter while he lived there (with the exception of SCP-XXXX-3B), and according to those close to him, he did not allow anyone to visit. The last time anyone saw SCP-XXXX-3A was thirty-four (34) days after moving into SCP-XXXX. He was never seen again. Likewise, SCP-XXXX-3B went missing roughly thirty (30) days after visiting SCP-XXXX. Both disappearances were reported eventually, and the foundation thereafter began an investigation. Upon the discovery of photographs of SCP-XXXX-1 taped to the walls all over the anomaly, the location was immediately quarantined. Of the five men to have searched the anomaly, Dr. ████, as well as three other foundation personnel, were afflicted by SCP-XXXX-1. The members of the team that searched the apartment of SCP-XXXX-3B were not.
Eventually, the men afflicted by SCP-XXXX-1 all began showing signs of severe depression, but bipolar tendencies were only present in Dr. ████. The four men to be disappeared around the same time as each other, about thirty-two to thirty-four (32-34) days after searching the apartment. The fifth member of the search team is currently still quarantined at the foundation under twenty-four hour watch, designated SCP-XXXX-3F. It should also be noted that SCP-XXXX-1 has never appeared in his room. The only action SCP-XXXX-3F said he took that none of the other investigators had done was inspect the ventilation, which was not unusual in any way. No other SCP-XXXX-1 afflicted personnel have ever recovered, even after being told to do exactly what the man did with the ventilation. Currently, two quarantined rooms in site-06-3 are afflicted by SCP-XXXX-1, the rooms in which the four infected men were permitted to stay. SCP-XXXX-3F is kept in a separate room on the opposite side of the facility. About fifty-four (54) locations have been quarantined due to the presence of SCP-XXXX-1, including those previously mentioned, and ten (10) related disappearances have been recorded.
It seems as though the contamination of a room can take between a matter of seconds and several hours. It should also be noted that if a person that has not been afflicted by SCP-XXXX-1 is to enter a contaminated room, the subject will occasionally exhibit the aforementioned depression and bipolar tendencies, albeit said affects are immediately negated upon exiting the room, and remaining in the room for a long period of time will not result in the disappearance of the subject.
The landlord who rented SCP-XXXX to SCP-XXXX-3A has neither been identified nor located, nor have any documents related to this person been found.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is permitted to roam the facilities of Site-98 in the company of MTF unit Echo-7, as long as the outer ring is not exited. The anomaly may only exit the outer ring with level 4 clearance or higher. Power is to be kept running at all times, with three sets of back-up generators on stand by at all times. In the event of the complete failure of the lighting system, the outer ring is to be completely locked down until power can be restored. Any failure in lighting systems or equipment within the Unit is to be repaired immediately.
All personnel within the outer ring must carry a light source. No section of the interior of the outer ring is to have any dark patches of light whatsoever, and all lights are to be tamper- proof. Requests for items or an escort to a specific room may be obliged, as long as it remains within given boundaries.
SCP-XXXX is to be placed in a concrete containment chamber located in the center of the Outer Ring if the anomaly expresses any unusual activity. Any such activity is to be reported to Site personnel immediately. SCP-XXXX's mane is to be trimmed every 2 weeks.
The Outer Ring is the designated name for a large structure surrounding Unit-12 of Site-98. The area covers 0.7 x 0.7 kilometers, and is run by the electrical mainframe as well as several back-up generators that are to be put to immediate use in the event of an outage. The Ring consists of a large horizontal box like tunnel system with concrete walls an flooring. The facility within the ring contains primarily recreational space for SCP-XXXX, as well as several office spaces and ██ other light-sensitive anomalies.
All non-recreational facilities and containment chambers have a built in lock down function, separating these spaces from the office quarters. Emergency lock down can also be implemented, completely sealing off the outer ring.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a quadrupedal/bipedal being with a height of 2.1 m and a mass of 432.8kg. Its outer layer of skin is of a grey and green coloration, containing traces of several rock compounds (i.e. nickel, iron) as well as organic matter similar to that of plants. This matter contains large amounts of chlorophyll, of which it uses to absorb energy from any provided light source. It has a conical head, similar in shape to those of reptiles. A mane of vines is present on its back, growing from the neck to the bottom of its back. These vines will continue to grow indefinitely until severed. SCP-XXXX has never appeared to shed these vines. Two eyes are present on opposite sides of the head, often fluctuating in coloration, seemingly capable of covering a majority of the color spectrum. SCP-XXXX does have a mouth, although no teeth or tongue of any sort is present within it, and seems to serve the sole purpose of utilizing vocal cords.
SCP-XXXX appears to express a split personality. When in the presence of a bright light source, the anomaly is friendly and has never attempted to harm personnel or damage equipment or other such objects. The entity often seems to enjoy reading most literature. SCP-XXXX will often request to watch films, although it will occasionally become bored and ask that the film be turned off. The entity is often friendly if not helpful to foundation personnel, offering to assist personnel on tasks, such as carrying heavy equipment or even solving problems.
However, if SCP-XXXX is exposed to dimly lit or completely dark areas, the entity's personality will completely change. The anomaly will quickly become violent and begin destroying much of its surrounding terrain if proper reinforcing is not applied. It will often proceed to attack anything that moves, including inanimate objects (i.e. a stress ball that slips off a desk). It will, on extremely rare occasions, tear off the vines on its main and begin mutilating itself, although the skin heals fairly quickly. The vines, however, can take a long period of time to regrow.
In this hostile state, SCP-XXXX will attempt to avoid all major light sources, often recoiling from bright flashlights and avoiding lit areas. This also works in reverse- in the non-violent state, the anomaly will avoid dark patches altogether. If SCP-XXXX believes a room is to dark (even if it could not trigger its enraged state) it will actively avoid the room. SCP-XXXX does not seem to be conscious of the fact that its hostile personality exists.
Foreword: The following test was conducted when SCP-XXXX was asked to
read its own article. Although it originally refused, it eventually accepted the article
and began to read it.
Date: 7/22/1998<Begin Log>
Dr. Wells hands SCP-XXXX its article after some resistance. The anomaly begins
reading it from start to finish before it begins speaking.Dr. Wells: Well?
SCP-XXXX: What is this?
Dr. Wells: As I stated earlier, this is your article. The foundation catalogs these articles
for use and reference.SCP-XXXX: I understand that. But I don't believe it.
Dr. Wells: What exactly do you not understand?
SCP-XXXX: Dr, I understand this perfectly. But I do not believe that this
creature of darkness is me. I am a creature of light, only because I require light to live.Dr. Wells: You actually seem to survive quite fine without light. I believe your
instinct to avoid low lighting is to prevent you from reverting to your alternate
personality.
SCP-XXXX: No… I… I would never hurt anyone; I don't want to hurt.
The idea of hurting others hurts me, and I like humans. They've never done
anything bad to me. I understand that I must be kept away from
others, those outside, but I didn't realize it was because of this.Dr. Wells: This is why Unit-12, where we are now, has its own back-up power.
We hate to see you enraged as well.SCP-XXXX: Thank you. This helped me. If I am ever to fall into darkness, I'll
try to resist this… creature.Dr. Wells: Let us hope that time will never come. Thank you for your time.
SCP-XXXX: You're welcome.
<End Log>
Afterword: Dr. Wells, as well as other observing personnel, described
SCP-XXXX as appearing to be saddened. Post-experiment, SCP-XXXX has been
especially cautious of dark areas, and the interior of the outer ring has since been
brightened considerably.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is contained within a concrete chamber in Unit-04 at Area-98. Per Eucild-Class Monitoring Guideline 421a (rev. 2008), recessed cameras are to be installed with proper shielding within the chamber to observe the entity's activity. If the chamber walls are to be collided with, an observation of damage done should be scheduled and a repair team must be contacted if necessary.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a quadrupedal, passive being comprised entirely of cobalt. The entity is 2.4 m in height and has a mass of 398.1 kg. Its face is a rounded tip, with two small protrusions on the top. Appendages are ended with blunt, rounded tips, each covered in several sharp cobalt protrusions. Thermal scans suggest that there is no heat signature native to the body, and the cobalt does not contain any unusual properties.
SCP-XXXX was originally discovered within a large cavern system designated SCP-XXXX-1, located in [REDACTED], Africa. The total size of the area is unknown. The system was originally found when miners breached the cave while searching for iron. It is unknown how much of the cavern was explored by the miners, although it is obvious that at least 2 sets of explosives were detonated within the caves. Prior to the appearance of SCP-XXXX, several miners had gone missing, believed to have been one at a time. It is currently unknown exactly how many miners disappeared.
As of 11/9/19██, severe seismic activity11 has eradicated the possibility of any further expedition, and only 6 km of the system has been explored with minimal photography. The mine has at this point been completely shut down. The complete geography of SCP-XXXX-1 as it stands remains a mystery. Although the anomaly appear to be completely unstable, the surrounding terrain does not appear to be affected in any way whatsoever.
Upon the occurrence of the initial earthquakes (which began occurring during the first expedition) several explosions as well as voices could be heard, although they appeared distant and initially incomprehensible. However, upon listening to the original recording, it is possible to make out several of the phrases. See Addendum: XXXX A: Expedition Log-XXXX-001.
Location: SCP-XXXX-1
Date: 11/9/19██
Foreword: At this time, SCP-XXXX-1 has not been explored since this particular expedition due to seismic activity. The four members of the team, Dr. Wells and MTF Echo-7, were equipped with audio and photography equipment during the exploration. Due to the disappearance of Agent Mathisen, any recordings or photographs that had been in his possession have never been acquired.
<Begin Log>
7:31- Dr. Wells, escorted by MTF Echo-7, enter the mineshaft.
7:58- Dr. Wells attempts to make contact with Area-98 via radio communication.
Dr. Wells: This is Dr. Wells to Area-98, do you read me?
Dr. ████: Loud and clear.
Dr. Wells: We are approaching the initial cavity of SCP-XXXX-1.
Dr. ████: Understood.
8:12- Dr. Wells again makes contact with Area-98.
Dr. Wells: You still hear me?
Dr. ████: Affirmative.
Dr. Wells: We've reached the anomaly. Preparing to proceed.
8:14- The expedition team enters the anomaly.
9:03- Dr. Wells and Echo-7 stop, having traversed 1.3 km. Dr. Wells attempts to make contact with Area-98.
Dr. Wells: We are roughly 1 kilometer into the anomaly, and it's still just one big tunnel. No major variation in the tunnel has been found as of yet.
[No response]
9:04- Dr. Wells: Area-98, do you read me?
[No response]
Agent Daiden: Sir, we are likely too far underground to achieve contact via radio. It appears that this tunnel descends at a slight incline. We're still going deeper underground.
Dr. Wells: Well, damn.
9:06- Dr. Wells and Echo-7 once again begin moving.
9:32- The team has traveled 1.1 km and have reached a fork in the path. Upon reaching the path, an explosion can be heard in the distance, and the cave shakes slightly.
Agent Mathisen: Well what the hell was that?
Agent Daiden: It appears as though something was detonated within the caves. All of you, be very alert.
10:13- The group begins moving down the left fork, traveling 1.8 km before stopping once more to rest.
11:42- A voice from within the cave can be heard.
[Unknown]: Deceit is ripe within the rock.
Agent Mathisen: Show yourself!
11:43- Members of Echo-7 form a protective circle around Dr. Wells. Agent Daiden is facing further into the cave when he next speaks.
Agent Daiden: Damn it, what was that! I saw something moving over there!
Dr. Wells: It must be the anomaly. Perhaps it doesn't want us down here.
12:21- The team has walked 0.7 km. Agent Andrews appears to trip over something on the cave floor.
Agent Andrews: Ah, damn! Something tripped me!
[Unknown]: Freedom is an easy lot.
Agent Daiden: Who is there, damn it!
12:22- Dr. Wells helps Agent Andrews off the ground.
Dr. Wells: Like I said, it must be the anomaly. And no one would be following… Hm…
Agent Mathisen: Please keep in mind that someone- or rather something- could have easily hopped on our tail after we went down the left fork. It could've been hiding down the other one.
Dr. Wells: Possibly.
13:04- 1.1 km have been traveled.
[Unknown]: Science is the errand of fools. The rock cares not for your antics.
Agent Andrews: This is being recorded, right?
Agent Mathisen: Yes, but I can barely make anything out… something about a fools errand and monsters.
Dr. Wells: I recommend we leave. We can come back on a later date, but that voice is beginning to sound hostile.
13:04- Upon turning around, it was found that there was no path back the way they came, only a cave wall.
Agent Daiden: Where did the wall come from?
13:05- Turning back around, it was found that the area in front of them was yet another dead end. It was quickly found that right was the only direction they could go.
[Unknown]: You have kept your own locked alone.
Dr. Wells: We are leaving. Now.
14:47- The team has backtracked 3.2 km. Another explosion is heard.
[Unknown]: Help is life, life is in need.
16:03- The team has backtracked another 2.7 km.
[Unknown]: The price was paid, now lost and reborn.
Agent Diaden: Sir, where the hell is Agent Mathisen?
16:09- The team searches the immediate area for the member of Echo-7. The man cannot be found.
Dr. Wells: We have to keep moving.
16:19- Echo-7 and Dr. Wells reach the end of the system. Upon exiting the anomaly, Agent Mathisen's voice can briefly be heard:
Agent Mathisen: Why have you left me?
<End Log>
Afterword: The body of Agent Mathisen has never turned up, nor has his voice been heard upon nearing the anomaly. Shortly after exiting the mineshaft, severe seismic activity began with the anomaly, although it was only barely felt by each member of the team. It is unknown what the source of the voice was, the intent of the voice being a mystery as well.

Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-A is contained in a 7 x 7 x 5 m steel chamber at Unit-04 in Area-98. The walls are set to emit an electric barrier at all times. Per Eucild-Class Monitoring Guideline 421a (rev. 2008), recessed cameras are to be installed with proper shielding within the chamber to observe the entity's activity. Two entrances are present, each on opposite sides of the chamber. Each entryway contains an airlock, where all gasses must be removed before personnel may continue. Those who enter the chamber are to have an oxygen supply equipped. Gasses are to be disassociated from produced perchloryl fluoride and safely pumped out of the facility. perchloryl fluoride is to be safely dealt with accordingly.
In the event of the leakage of SCP-XXXX-2, the affected section of the Area is to be immediately sealed off until the instance can be removed.
Description: SCP-XXXX-A is a quadrupedal, sentient being comprised entirely of cobalt, capable of escaping containment units by reshaping matter. The creature believes it was originally a miner, having been crushed in a mine explosion. SCP-XXXX-A has explained that it went through a peculiar phenomenon within SCP-XXXX-1. See Interview Log XXXX-A-001 and Interview Log XXXX-A-002. The entity is 2.4 m in height and has a mass of 398.1 kg. Its face is a rounded tip, with two small protrusions on the top. Appendages are ended with blunt, rounded tips, each covered in several sharp cobalt protrusions. The subject seems to produce large quantities of silicon tetrachloride, perchloryl fluoride, and SCP-XXXX-2. The gasses are often produced in a combination that causes severe afflictions from silicon tetrachloride and perchloryl fluoride. However, such afflictions are usually followed up by SCP-XXXX-2’s lethal effects, including seizures, comas, and potential asphyxiation.
SCP-XXXX-1 is the designated name of the area in which the transformation of SCP-XXXX-A occurred. The area appears to be a cave system covering a total area of two square miles. Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 will occasionally be emitted from holes within the cavern that appear to drop off into endless chasms. Instances will then dissipate, with no currently known cause. The caverns have been completely explored, and subjects who enter the anomaly claim to hear voices, as well as an occasional explosion. The cave appears to shake during these events, although the source is unknown, as no damage has ever been reported within the cavern. Several phrases have been documented, although many were reported to be unintelligible garble:
• ”Hey, careful with [indecipherable]”
• ”No, wait!”
• ”Someone, [indecipherable]”
• ”Please, stop!”
• ”It burns [indecipherable]”
Upon relaying the phrases to SCP-XXXX-A, the entity claims that those are its words, having spoken them before the explosion, caused by the misuse of dynamite. The miner’s torso was buried in the rubble, his body facing deeper into the caverns. It was then that the cavern began “speaking” to the miner, claiming that it needed him and would accept him as its own, even after the miner repeatedly pleaded to be released. SCP-XXXX-A then began to feel a burning sensation throughout its body, as if it was being ripped apart. The anomaly’s vision then went black, although it resumed momentarily. At this point, it began having hallucinations of aurora borealis, streams, and a pitch-black cave system. The entity claims to have traversed the cave system in a nightmare like state, capable of moving of his will but being forced forward by an unknown source. SCP-XXXX-A claims that the hallucination went on for what felt like several years. His vision finally went black once again, shortly after hearing the words “finally.”
SCP-XXXX-A was later found within an encasing of sediment, the rock having formed around its body. SCP-XXXX-1 has never transformed personnel again in quite this way, although it appears to be capable of [DATA EXPUNGED]. It is unknown what led to SCP-XXXX-1 causing this original effect.
SCP-XXXX-2 is produced via unknown means within the anomaly, and is then excreted through orifices dotting its body. The gas is capable of severely damaging an organisms’ systems via several methods, as mentioned above. The effects, however, seem to greatly vary, from bodily degeneration to organ malfunctions. The type of effect depends on how it is absorbed by an organism’s body:
• Asphyxiation, seizures, and comatose: caused by normal inhalation for a long period of time.
• Rapid cancer growth (location random), vegetative state: short period of exposure.
• Increased blood pressure, cardiac arrest: injection into the bloodstream.
• Nodes: Filtered inhalation.
• Osteoporosis, Arthritis: injection into bone tissue.
• Constipation, diarrhea: Injection into the Kidneys/Liver.
• E. Coli removal: Injection into either of the intestines.
• Vomiting, acid reflux: Ingestion in a liquid state.
• Acid reflux: Ingestion in a solid state.
• Brain tissue degeneration: inhaling an instance of SCP-XXXX-2 diluted with chlorine12.
The anomaly has never attempted to physically harm personnel, although it is occasionally fixated on breaching containment. In the event of a containment breach, SCP-XXXX-A appears to simply surrender to foundation personnel upon recovery, and has never attempted to attack units attempting to subdue it. Due to its lack of eyes, the entity uses magnetic fields to interpret direction. Whether or not it can obtain any sort of visual of its environment is unknown. SCP-XXXX-A is able to detect vibrations, and, although it cannot speak, it appears to have an understanding of Morse Code, of which it claimed to have learned prior to the transformation through SCP-XXXX-1. Personnel picked up on this after repeated rhythmic tapping was heard within the chamber.
Thermal scans of SCP-XXXX-A prove that there are no heat signatures coming from the body, thus meaning that the entities original body is no longer present. The cobalt that makes up its body does not contain any unusual properties. The anomaly has fair flexibility, capable of “bending” the mineral it is made up of. What makes SCP-XXXX-A a threat to personnel is its capability to reshape many forms of matter. The anomaly will normally pace aimlessly around its containment unit, however it will occasionally attempt to exit the unit. SCP-XXXX-A will appear to walk through the wall, bending the matter to reshape around its body perfectly as it moves. Production of gas well appear to cease during this processing, beginning once again seconds after fully breaching the opposite side of the wall. The entity has breached containment once via this method. See Incident Report XXXX-A-001 for more information.
SCP-XXXX-A is extremely sensitive to high voltages of electricity, and an electric barrier will prevent the anomaly from reshaping matter completely. SCP-XXXX-A does not appear to be capable of entering floors or ceilings, and is only able to move through walls adjacent to it. It is also challenged by angles, seemingly unable to easily descend them. The entity does not seem to be capable of stopping the production of the gas, even after repeated attempts to do so on the creature’s behalf.
SCP-XXXX-2 has a condensing point of -59° C, and a freezing point of -83° C. The gas will normally rise, causing instances to collect on ceilings or rise into the atmosphere. Due to SCP-XXXX-A producing perchloryl fluoride, the anomaly can severely damage the atmosphere, capable of breaking down the ozone layer. As the gas does not naturally dissipate except for within SCP-XXXX-1, SCP-XXXX-A can cause extreme environmental hazards if left unattended.
Item #: SCP-XXXX-B
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-B is contained in a 6 x 6 x 6 m concrete cube at Unit-45 in Area-98. The walls are set to emit an electric barrier at all times. One air locked entrance is present, although entering the chamber is strictly prohibited under normal circumstances and requires the consent of a Class B supervisor. Those who enter the chamber are to have an oxygen supply equipped. Visits the the chamber must be quick, as SCP-XXXX-B may become agitated within moments of personnel entering its chamber. Upon becoming agitated, The entity can become extremely hostile, and evacuation from the chamber should be immediate. Sarin and SCP-XXXX-2 instances are to be safely removed from the chamber and omitted from the facility. If any personnel are afflicted by sarin, they are to be administered atropine immediately. Any information regarding SCP-XXXX-B is strictly classified, and the disclosure of information will be met with termination.
Description: SCP-XXXX-B is the product of attempting to replicate SCP-XXXX-A.
This entity, unlike the original, is completely disfigured and barely resembles SCP-XXXX-A in anyway. The entity is made up of tungsten, in a quadrupedal stance with a height of 3.1 m and a mass of 422 kg. The being is also capable of reshaping matter. Although the entity is relatively human in base shape, it is completely contorted, as well as having a conically shaped hade. Appendages are each ended with 3 fingers/toes, although the protrusions found on SCP-XXXX-A are not present. It appears as though while its head and torso are facing upward, all appendages remain on the ground, with no present joints. Thus, the appendages resemble stilts, lifting its body off the ground in an erect position. Its body lays flat, propped up by the appendages, little more than a head attached to a small torso.
Orifices are present all over the appendages, producing SCP-XXXX-2 as well as sarin. No other gasses are produced. Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 and sarin are produced at a much slower rate, making the disposal of and containment of the gasses much easier. However, the combination of the gasses are still lethal and are to be avoided.
The danger of SCP-XXXX-B is its constant attempts to breach containment. The entity is extremely hostile to personnel, and will often attempt to enter walls of the containment, even if an electric barrier is online. The being can exert tremendous force from blows with its limbs, capable of causing severe bodily damage to personnel. Although the subject had been taught Morse Code prior to transformation within SCP-XXXX-1, it shows no signs of knowledge of the code, normal will it respond to communication attempts.
SCP-XXXX-B was the third attempt to replicate SCP-XXXX-A, the two previous attempts having ended in failure due to [DATA EXPUNGED]. D-9982 was crushed beneath rubble that had fallen from the ceiling of SCP-XXXX-1 during a remotely detonated explosion. SCP-XXXX-B breached the rubble only five days later, immediately attacking personnel located within the caverns. With the use of generator powered electromagnetic fields installed prior to the spawning of SCP-XXXX-B, the entity was contained until proper analysis could be made. SCP-XXXX-B was then moved to an exclusive Unit at Area-98, where it currently resides. SCP-XXXX-B has never breached containment.
Addenda:
Foreword: SCP-XXXX-A was first identified within an iron mine in [REDACTED], Africa. Eleven bodies of were located within the mine, all men, whom had died due to the inhalation of SCP-XXXX-2 and other produced chemicals. Seven others died of cancer roughly 11-16 days after the incident. The two survivors who had avoided inhalation explained that a "rock monster" had been unintentionally unearthed, and began producing the gasses a short amount of time after awakening. It is unknown if SCP-XXXX-A can re-enter this "dormant" state.
█/1/19██- Large quantities of gas are seen rising from the [REDACTED] iron mine in [REDACTED], Africa. Nine miners13 report a creature having appeared in the mines.
█/3/19██: 11:34- Gas tested by foundation members outside the mine. Confirmed hazardous.
11:49- Traces of perchloryl fluoride found in heavy quantities.
12:21- The foundation decides the anomaly must be inspected immediately.
12:34- Three D-Class personnel are sent into the iron mine with oxygen equipment and hazmat suits.
13:13- Via radio transmission, the personnel claim to be nearing the source.
13:22- Personnel claim to have reached the source, describing it as a large creature made up of silver (later proved to be a partially incorrect description).
14:01- Personnel reach the surface of the mine and return to the main force.
█/4/19██: 6:20- MTF Zeta-9 dispatched to the location of the mine.
8:31- Zeta-9 enters the location of SCP-XXXX-A.
8:59- Zeta-9 reaches the anomaly.
9:12- SCP-XXXX-A contained.
10:24- The anomaly is brought back to the surface. Other personnel have cleared the area.
13:12- SCP-XXXX-A is placed into temporary containment.
█/7/19██: SCP-XXXX-A contained at Site-██.
Foreword: SCP-XXXX-A was moved to Unit-12 at Site-██, where it was contained within a 6 x 6 x 4 steel containment unit. The anomaly’s reshaping abilities were not known of at the time of the incident. Surveillance was able to capture most of the event, revealing the reshaping ability of SCP-XXXX-A to personnel.
Date: █/16/19██- 9 days after initial containment of SCP-XXXX-A.
7:14- SCP-XXXX-A is seen pacing near the northern wall of its containment.
7:17- The entity’s body begins entering the northern wall. Several electronic cables are destroyed in the process.
7:19- The anomaly breaches the wall opposite to the one entered. Personnel are seen fleeing, several covering there mouths. Only ██ personnel procured oxygen equipment from the ██ sets supplied.
7:20- SCP-XXXX-A begins emitting gasses from the orifices dotting its body, exactly 11 seconds after fully exiting the wall. Unit-12 is quickly sealed off.
7:21- The anomaly begins moving quickly about the facility, attempting to find an exit. Gas has filled up a large portion of the unit.
7:31- SCP-XXXX-A appears to be halted by a short staircase.
7:35- After standing at the top of the staircase for 4 minutes, the entity begins to slowly descend.
7:37- SCP-XXXX-A reaches the bottom of the staircase.
7:41- Mobile Task Forces Echo-2, Tetra-4, and Beta-7 enters Site-██. Echo-2 immediately begins evacuating site personnel while Beta-7 searches for the anomaly. Tetra-4 separates into groups of ██ and are dispatched to multiple locations to ensure the containment of other anomalies.
7:45- SCP-XXXX-A reaches one of the Unit-12 lock rooms, which is sealed. The anomaly does not make an attempt to breach the lock room.
7:49- MTF Beta-7 reaches a lock room for Unit-12. Self-sealing capability of the room is remotely disabled.
7:50- MTF Beta-7 enters Unit-12.
7:52- SCP-XXXX reverses its course, now moving directly towards MTF Beta-7.

8:25- Remaining personnel in the facility have all been evacuated.
8:29- Beta-7 begins leading SCP-XXXX-A to the secondary exit of the building.
8:51- SCP-XXXX is airlifted to temporary containment.
█/18/19██- SCP-XXXX-A re-contained at Area-98. An electronic barrier is implemented in the new containment chamber after quick testing of SCP-XXXX-A.
Afterword: ██ casualties were documented due to the breach, including those who were designated deceased after the event due to side effects induced by SCP-XXXX-1, perchloryl fluoride, and silicon tetrachloride. No other SCPs breached containment during the incident.
Location: Site-98.
Date: 9/4/19██.Foreword: The documentation below has been translated from the Morse
code used by both personnel and the anomaly. Note that words that could
not be determined were filled in via an educated assumption. Although
having worked in Africa at the time of the incident, the anomaly claims to
be British and can communicate in the English dialect of Morse Code.<Begin Log>
Dr. Wells: Hello. Can you understand me?
SCP-XXXX-A: Yes.
Dr. Wells: Good. What are you exactly?
SCP-XXXX-A: A thing. A monster.
Dr. Wells: Why do you describe yourself like this?
SCP-XXXX-A: Anyone would describe me that way. I can’t see myself, yet I know
what I am. How do you figure I do that?
Dr. Wells: Where do you come from?SCP-XXXX-A: Nottingham, Britain. I was born there. My family then moved to
[REDACTED], where I was raised.Dr. Wells: Pardon?
SCP-XXXX-A: Where did you find me? Was it in a mine?
Dr. Wells: Yes. It was an iron mine in [REDACTED] Africa.
SCP-XXXX-A: That sounds correct. I used to be human. I wanted to have a family.
My parents always encouraged me to.Dr. Wells: Please go on. Why were you in the mines?
SCP-XXXX-A: I was fresh out of [REDACTED], just got a degree in Architecture.
Couldn’t find any jobs that needed my expertise, so I resorted to cheap labor. It was my
second week in the mine.Dr. Wells: When did this occur?
SCP-XXXX-A: 1973.
Dr. Wells: I see. Do you know what caused you to change?
SCP-XXXX-A: No.
Dr. Wells: Alright, one last thing- what is your name?
SCP-XXXX-A: I don't know.
Dr. Wells: Do you know the names of your family members?
SCP-XXXX-A: No.
Dr. Wells: I see. Thank you for your time.
SCP-XXXX-A: Can you help me? You have to.
Dr. Wells: I will return later.
<End Log>
Afterword: Upon Dr. Wells ending the conversation, SCP-XXXX-A appeared
to enter a period of extreme emotional distress, repeatedly banging on its chamber,
of which could not be interpreted in Morse Code. It later began pleading, repeating
the phrase, “Fix me” for several hours. All activity seemed to completely cease
afterward until the next interview.
Location: Site-98.
Date: 9/13/19██.Foreword: The documentation below has been translated from the Morse
code used by both personnel and the anomaly. Note that words that could
not be determined were filled in via an educated assumption. SCP-XXXX-A was not cooperative with Dr. Wells for a long period of time, refusing to communicate. This log begins once cooperation is achieved.
<Begin Log>Dr. Wells: SCP-XXXX-A, please respond.
SCP-XXXX-A: I don’t want to speak.
Dr. Wells: I understand you were irritated after our last talk.
SCP-XXXX-A: Can you fix me?
Dr. Wells: I’m afraid, at least with our current technology, that I can not.
SCP-XXXX-A: Who are you? You’re a scientist, right? Is this normal?
Dr. Wells: I’m afraid it is not.
SCP-XXXX-A: So I’m stuck like this?
Dr. Wells: I’m afraid so.
SCP-XXXX-A: [No response]
Dr. Wells: Why did you escape your containment?
SCP-XXXX-A: What? I don’t understand.
Dr. Wells: At Site-██, you broke out of containment and killed ██ people.
SCP-XXXX-A: I don’t know what you’re talking about.
Dr. Wells: Are you aware of what you are doing?
SCP-XXXX-A: All I know is that I’m walking, and I seem to know my direction
as well. Other than that? No.Dr. Wells: I see. Are you aware of the gas being emitted from your body?
SCP-XXXX-A: Yes.
Dr. Wells: Can you stop it?
SCP-XXXX-A: I don’t think so.
Dr. Wells: Can you try?
SCP-XXXX-A: [Delayed response] Did that work? I still feel the sensation.
Dr. Wells: Can you describe the sensation?
SCP-XXXX-A: It… tingles.
Dr. Wells: Interesting.
SCP-XXXX-A: I think I can sense walls in here, or some sort of barrier. It
stings when I touch certain areas.Dr. Wells: That is an electric barrier, to keep you in here. I must leave now. I
will speak with you again later.SCP-XXXX-A: It's lonely in here. Can someone else speak with me?

Item #: SCP-2563
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-2563 is to be contained in a reinforced concrete torus with an interior diameter of 9 m at Area-98. Per Eucild-Class Monitoring Guideline 421a (rev. 2008), recessed cameras are to be installed every 2 meters in the torus' central ring. Each camera is equipped with remotely controlled wipers to clear debris. Two 0.07 x 0.2 m vents are placed equidistant from the top of the torus along the sides for the dispensation of incapacitation gas. The chamber is accessible from two independently sealed hatches, placed on the upper and lower sections of the torus. The top hatch has a runged metal ladder leading from the access point down to the chamber floor, as well as branching off to the center circle. A magnetic field is to be constantly emitted from the walls at all times in order to suppress SCP-2563.
Should SCP-2563 demonstrate a dramatic change in movement speed or cease the banging of its cell, the chamber will be gassed immediately with an incapacitating agent. If the gas does not succeed in incapacitating SCP-2563, the magnetic force exuded by the chamber should be greatly increased until the subjects movement is impossible. Proper shielding is applied to equipment and supercooling units have been installed in order to control the temperature of the magnets.
When the chamber is to to be entered, SCP-2563 is to be incapacitated with gas, allowing suitable time for the agent to clear. The magnetic field must be greatly reduced while personnel are inside the chamber. A team of four D-class personnel and no fewer than two armed security personnel are to enter chamber every two weeks to collect and burn excess instances of SCP-2563-1.This cleaning team must complete their task within 1 hour and 45 minutes, as, on average, the entity will awaken from slumber within two and a half hours after becoming incapacitated; however, if SCP-2563 awakens early while personnel are still inside the chamber, the security team is to shoot the subject until suppressed and evacuate as soon as it is safely possible.
Description: SCP-2563 is a quadrupedal/bipedal being primarily composed of several varieties of rock (i.e. primarily granite and nickel, with minor traces of iron and limestone), bark, and moss. It has a conical head connected to a thick and short neck. Several protrusions of limestone are present on the rear of its head down to its lower back. SCP-2563 is 2.3m in height and has a mass of 432.8kg. The outer coating of its body is primarily bark coated in moss, with rock compounds underneath. All four limbs are extremely large in size (Roughly five times that of an average human), however the arms are slightly thicker and longer than the legs. The hands and feet have six fingers/toes, each having slight protrusions of bedrock resembling talons. Many orifices are present throughout the surface of the body, although no signs of any mouth or jaw are located on the specimen. Eyes are visible; the color of the eyes often varies on the environment and is extremely difficult to determine at times. The anomaly demonstrates limited sentience, including pattern recognition and basic problem-solving abilities. Recurring scratching can be heard coming from the entity within the chamber. SCP-2563's outer shell is oddly resistant to extreme heat, however the interior makeup of its body appears to be damaged by high temperatures.
SCP-2563 is covered in SCP-2563-1, a vine like plant that will continuously grow, regrow, and shed. The surfaces of the instances appears to lubricate themselves in an adhesive substance at random intervals. The instances not only appear to coat SCP-2563’s body, but to originate from within it as well; the vines will always form in a rough set position around the body of SCP-2563 with minor differences noticeably often. If SCP-2563-1 is ever severed from the body of the entity, it will regrow and take its original position; in addition, if an instance grows to a length of over 0.7 m, SCP-2563 will shed the instance, leaving it to lie in the containment chamber. An instance of SCP-2563-1 will continue to grow indefinitely even when detached, unless burned; decomposition has not occurred in any instance thus far. Further observation has determined that SCP-2563-1 is the main source of energy for the main entity, as the instances are capable of absorbing required gasses (i.e. carbon) and delivering them to the host; the instances are also what the incapacitating gas is absorbed through. Prior to Test-563-D, SCP-2563 never expressed irritation when small quantities of instances were removed.
SCP-2563 expresses a somewhat mutualistic symbiotic relationship with instances of SCP-2563-1. It can be assumed that the primary entity is the “host” while the minor entities are the endosymbionts.
The main entity appears to depend on the functions of SCP-2563-1 to survive—the instances absorb vital gasses required for bodily functions, as well as producing adhesives that aid climbing. In return, SCP-2563 provides a method of spread, similar to pollination: The anomaly carries the instances and sheds them in different locations, allowing them to continue to grow within a widespread area. However, SCP-2563 can no longer provide this function within captivity. It appears as though the anomaly has formed a sort of “bond” with the instances, and since Test-2563-D the subject has shown extreme irritation upon the shedding of the instances.
SCP-2563 has not expressed any volatile or hostile actions thus far. It appears to give no heed to humans or any other creature, and will often ignore them completely. SCP-2563 is now classified extremely hostile and extreme caution must be taken to ensure its containment. Refer to Incident Report 2563-001 below for more information.
The entity expresses extreme hostility towards humans, although it is ignorant of most other organisms. Upon encountering a human being, SCP2-563 will attack using its head as a bludgeoning tool capable of exerting over 7000N of force. This behavior had never appeared before Test 2563-D, which is detailed below.
SCP-2563 appears to be extremely susceptible to magnetic fields, appearing to be disoriented when exposed to them. The subject will often topple over as well as bang repeatedly on its containment chamber when the magnetic field is increased. The magnetic field in the chamber can be potentially lethal to personnel, although it does not appear to damage the subject in any way.
SCP-2563 will on occasion cling to the ceiling, using the adhesives on SCP-2563-1 to adhere itself to the top of the chamber when the substance is released. It is unknown what causes the adhesives to withdraw back into the vines. It should be noted that the adhesive cannot be produced or withdrawn by an instance of SCP-2563-1 when the instance is severed from the body of SCP-2563. The main entity appears to be immune to most forms of weapons, however high caliber bullets seem to be capable of suppressing SCP-2563’s movement.
Foreword: It is currently believed that SCP-2563 originally inhabited the Western Coast of South America prior to containment. Witnesses suggest it was a docile, almost playful entity. Its origin is unknown. Millions of instances of SCP-2563-1 have been located, most of which have been removed and destroyed.

Test D – 1/23/████
Subject: SCP-2563/SCP-2563-1
Procedure: SCP-2563 is to be placed into a room with a controlled temperature14. The temperature is to be increased to 325°C15. Behavior of SCP-2563 is to be thoroughly recorded during and after the process.
Hypothesis: The complete removal of SCP-2563-1 will not affect the subject greatly (as removal of SCP-2563-1 instances and resistance to heat has been tested prior, with no noticeable negative results).
Results: SCP-2563 was unresponsive during the process, barely moving whatsoever. Eyes were not affected in any way. All exterior instances of SCP-2563-1 had been destroyed within 3 minutes and 24 seconds after the furnace reached the designated temperature. SCP-2563 was moved a short ways back to its containment unit and placed back within it. 2 hours and 49 minutes after the experiment, SCP-2563 began exhibiting spastic behavior, sufficiently denting several metal panels and tearing the valve off of the side hatch. SCP-2563 has exhibited odd tendencies post-experiment to date, often moving around the chamber very quickly and creating extremely loud banging sounds. Plating of the interior has since been upgraded. All instances of SCP-2563-1 were regrown within two weeks. No differences in appearance were noted between on either of the subjects, and the function of SCP-2563-1 was no different either.
Analysis: SCP-2563 was severely irritated by the complete removal of SCP-563-116. SCP-563 has shown volatile and spastic behavior ever since the experiment, the reason currently assumed to be the possibility of internal burning during the process. The reason for the delay in the reaction is unknown.
Date: 2/7/████
Time: 3:32
**Event: – Shift change. Standard procedure is not followed. SCP-2563 is not monitored for what is assumed to be a 39 second period of time during the shift change. D-7813 did not appear on scene, and later confessed to avoiding his designated work. It is unknown how he successfully avoided patrol, as no security personnel reported seeing him. D-7813 however explained that he was in the cafeteria the entire time, passing as someone waiting for the next shift. Only two shift changes are taken post-incident, unlike the original four shifts.
3:34 - Personnel cannot make out a visual of SCP-2563 on cameras. Gas has not yet been installed.
3:35 - Magnetic field is increased. No reaction.
3:37 - Magnetic field is once again increased. Slight tapping noise can be heard from within the containment chamber. Source unknown. Personnel described the noise as something shivering.
3:41 - Magnetic field is greatly increased. Tapping ceases.
3:44 - Two personnel are escorted to the chamber with one security agent upon lowering the magnetic field.
3:45 - SCP-2563 is not seen on the ground. D-4562 looked up at the ceiling as seen on footage. D-4562 begins speaking, but the vocals cannot be made out. The two others quickly notice SCP-563 as well. The security personnel does not attempt to fire his weapon.
3:46 - SCP-2563 pounces from the ceiling, effectively crushing D-4562. Security personnel ███ is head-butted in the upper chest, stopping his heart and fracturing his spinal column. D-6242 attempts to escape through the open hatch. The hatch is not closed behind him.
3:47 - D-6242 reaches the bottom of the ladder and sprints down the hallway, through an airtight door (which he does not close) back to the observation room. Another airtight door is closed behind him, sealing in eight office spaces.
3:49 - SCP-2563 manages to squeeze through the hatch17, obliterating the metal rungs, damaging the lighting system, and severely denting the walls.
3:52 - SCP-2563 reaches the bottom of the ladder. Personnel have been alerted of the subject’s presence. The air-locked door has not yet been opened.
3:53 - SCP-2563 reaches the office of Dr. Wells, who is completely ignored.
3:55 – SCP-2563 reaches the office of Dr. Nathan, who is in the company of Dr. ██████. Dr. Nathan received a cranial fracture as well severe trampling on the lower half of his body, and Dr. ██████ received several blows to the stomach, crushing her internal organs, consequently asphyxiating her. No cameras were installed in the office, so no video evidence was provided.
3:59 - The door opens. The majority of remaining personnel is evacuated.
4:00 - 4:02 a.m. SCP-2563 kills Dr. Mason with a blow to the head. Dr. Mason’s personal security agent fires 17 .65 caliber bullets at SCP-2563. The creature is assumed deceased.
4:11 - SCP-2563 is moved back into containment. Dr. Wells and several others believe that it was not yet deceased.
5:12 - SCP-2563 regains consciousness. It begins aimlessly pacing.
8:31 - SCP-2563's Movements immediately becomes spastic, exhibiting quick and violent movements within the chamber.
14:30 - A meeting is held to address the incident.
15:13 - It is decided that defense systems will be installed in the chamber, and security protocol will be altered, as well as overall security in the area.
Addendum 2563-1
Dr. Wells regarding the incident.
Colleagues,
I am deeply distressed by the state of SCP-2563. And not just what it did, but
what it is doing and possibly, even what it currently going through its mind.I believe we can all come to the conclusion that the incident was
caused by the complete eradication of all present instances of SCP-2563-1,
an experiment that was unlikely to produce anything worthwhile. I understand
the intent of the experiment— what would happen if the magnet's supercooling
system failed and all instances of SCP-2563-1 were seared off? Now, why
potentially create instability within the creature when this has never happened
to one of our magnetic units before? Are we going to put our children inside an
incinerator and find out what happens when we singe off their hair? It'll do a lot
more damage than the subject. And I have a theory that this is what has
occurred in the case of the anomaly in question.First on the list: physical state. We noticed orifices coating its body upon the
burning— almost certainly what SCP-2563-1 is grown out of. This means that it is
possible that, since we appear to have burned the instances down to the "roots",
we caused internal burning that has not yet healed. That could possibly be the
cause of its enraged state. However, I believe this anger could potentially goes deeper. It is confirmed
It was able to get a clear view of all of those who carried out Test-D upon being
transported between its containment unit and the test room. Note that I, as well
as four others in the offices at the time of the major incident, did not participate
in Test-D. All of us had also disapproved of the idea as well, but the entity could
not have known that. None of us were harmed. However, all of the others that
were killed just happened to have been responsible for conducting the experiment.
I am suggesting that SCP-2563 has varied emotions other than simply rage.Removing it from its natural environment in [REDACTED] was likely a burden
for its conscious to deal with; none of us know quite how long it had resided in
that environment before contained. Reports from civilians indicated that the entity
was often very active, and never attempted to harm them in any way—consistent
with its original behavior here in themfacility. However, upon being brought into
captivity, its actions appeared to contradict those stated by witnesses. It is
possible that the entity was feeling distraught, or experiencing some form of
sadness/depression.However, it was likely pushed over the edge upon conducting Test-2563-D. You
destroyed what, in the creatures eyes, could have been its pride, perhaps its
responsibility. Although temporary, it could have developed emotional distress at the
loss of the instances. It is likely that much of the matter within the rock exoskeleton
was burned, or damaged in some way, during the experiment. In my professional
opinion, the conducting of Test-2563-D was a poor move and a poor idea.Dr. Wells
Current Status: Denied
Item #: SCP-2491
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-2491 is to be kept in a 20 x 20 x 20 meter containment unit, with a 2 x 2 meter access hatch above the unit. Personnel are to be cautious when entering the unit, as to not make contact with SCP-2491. Containment unit is to be made of steel, 9 cm thick. Glass is not permitted; observation must be conducted within the unit. There is to be a two (2) meter gap of open air between the access hatch and the water level. Water level must be maintained at eighteen (18) meters. Personnel are to be retrieved via metal coil.
Description: SCP-2491 is a recently contained aquatic organism with no pre-determined shape. It is made of a blue-grey gelatinous substance. As it has no predetermined shape, the subject can change form at any given moment. Size is difficult to determine; scans have shown a mass of 94,311 kg, however no area can be properly recorded. No appendages (i.e. arms, legs) or orifices (i.e. a mouth) are present. SCP-2491 will absorb most solid organic or natural material, quickly rejecting most inorganic or man made objects (i.e. steel, plastic). Absorption of living beings has been confirmed. However, it will only absorb an object or animal if said item comes in contact with SCP-2491; it will not intentionally move towards anything dropped into its containment unit. The creature is relatively harmless as long as contact between a person and SCP-2491 is not made. Absorption can also take place through an inorganic material less than 4.23 cm thick, such as through an average scuba-vest or steel drone.
A substance in a non-solid state cannot be absorbed, however if said liquid/gas changes to a solid state, absorption is now plausible. Its ability to absorb plasma has not yet been tested at the time of this report. Absorption of any object, no matter the mass or volume, will not affect the size SCP-2491 in any way. No excretion is ever produced. Once contact is made with SCP-2491, the object or personnel cannot be retrieved, nor do any objects ever turn up. It possible that SCP-2491 has a dissolving agent that instantaneously breaks down substances. X-ray shows that SCP-2491 is devoid of internal organs, however an external gland coating the majority of its body has been recorded, likely producing the acidic dissolvent.
Separation of the body has been attempted, but with no success. SCP-2491 appears to be made of an indestructible substance. It has limited flexibility, and thus cannot intentionally stretch, and stretching it via force is close to impossible. When removed from water from a long period of time, it will shrivel up and harden into whichever form it had previously been position in. SCP-2491 in this state, however, is not deceased. Instead, the body is in a semi-coma, which it can quickly be resuscitated from by being placed back into water. Some specialists argue that lack of water would make containment easier, the counter-argument being that liquid deprivation would be cruel and could damage or injure a somewhat harmless specimen.
Addendum: Dissection attempt #1: Conducted by Dr. ██████ :
Drone with 3 cm thick steel plating is piloted towards SCP-2491. Specimen has not made any unusual movements. Drone comes in contact with SCP-2491. Contact immediately lost.
