Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a waterproof low risk container. SCP-XXXX is to remain in storage unless testing is occurring. All handling and testing should be done in a low humidity environment as to not affect testing results. SCP-XXXX can be handled without any risk unless it is used to clean off bodily fluids See incident log XXXX-01 for details on procedure changes. SCP-XXXX should only be handled with 2cm thick waterproof gloves. Approved materials for gloves are: Latex, Rubber, and Silicon. SCP-XXXX may be used to clean up any fluid spills if there is no better alternative. In the case that SCP-XXXX has absorbed toxic, corrosive, molten, or anomalous liquids, it is to be left to dry in a small airtight container or room depending on availability. All evaporated gas is to be collected and stored in any environment below 0°C for 10 minutes before being disposed of as normal for said liquid. During drying, no personnel are allowed to enter the vicinity of SCP-XXXX due to the risk of inhaling evaporated liquids.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a standard yellow Sham-WOW towel. During testing, SCP-XXXX was found to be structurally identical to a non anomalous Sham-WOW towel.. Despite this, SCP-XXXX is able to absorb any liquid as if it was water. SCP-XXXX will absorb any connected liquids to what it was first touched to. The carry capacity for SCP-XXXX does not differ from a non-anomalous Sham-WOW towel. High speed cameras show that absorption occurs at a rate of 1 (one) liter per second (1l/s). When SCP-XXXX absorbs any liquid, it will create a wet spot and increase weight of the towel as if it absorbed tap water. SCP-XXXX is incapable of absorbing solids or gasses, and when put into a humid room, it only absorbs the liquid that builds up on surfaces near it as a result. SCP-XXXX appears to be unable to absorb more than 1 liquid at a time, any attempts to make SCP-XXXX absorb mixtures or multiple liquids will result in SCP-XXXX becoming hydrophobic to any liquids except what it first absorbed. See testing logs below for more details. Despite corrosive and damaging materials interacting with SCP-XXXX, no tested material has degraded or damaged SCP-XXXX. When wet, any liquid absorbed by SCP-XXXX will evaporate at a rate identical to a non-anomalous Sham-WOW was to be saturated with tap water. Vapors given off by SCP-XXXX will not condense back into liquid regardless of the liquid’s normal state in the temperature of the environment surrounding SCP-XXXX. Any vapor given off by SCP-XXXX will be classified as SCP-XXXX-1. The only way to condense SCP-XXXX-1 back into liquid is to put it in an environment that is at or below 0°C. At this point, it will suddenly condense as liquid and lose all anomalous properties. Liquids that freeze at or below 0°C would after a short delay of 0.01 seconds, become solid. The cause of this delay is unknown. Upon condensing back into liquid, SCP-XXXX-1 loses SCP status along with all anomalous properties and can be disposed of normally. This does not apply for anomalous liquids absorbed by SCP-XXXX. Any anomalous liquids absorbed by SCP-XXXX are to be disposed of using the proper disposal or containment procedures as stated in their SCP file.

Addendum XXXX-001: As of █/██/██23, the following liquids have been introduced and absorbed by SCP-XXXX: Wrought Iron (Molten), Tap Water (Dechlorinated), Hydrogen Peroxide, Human Blood,

Addendum XXXX-002: Severed instances of SCP-XXXX retain their anomalous properties. Transplanting them onto other Sham-WOW towels does not spread the anomalous affect. Severed instances can be sewed or affixed back onto SCP-XXXX to repair it. After 12 hours, SCP-XXXX will appear as if no parts of it were severed.

Addendum XXXX-003: Severed instances of SCP-XXXX will absorb liquids at a rate and have a maximum carry capacity proportional to the size of the severed instance. A severed instance containing 10% of SCP-XXXX will have 10% of the absorb rate and carry capacity of SCP-XXXX.

Addendum XXXX-004: SCP-XXXX is able to absorb compounds, elements, and mixtures without any problems.1

Testing Log XXXX-001: Procedure: Dip SCP-XXXX into a tub of ███ brand caffeine powder mixed with water. Result: SCP-XXXX absorbed the water, all of the ███ brand caffeine powder was left at the bottom of the tub completely dry.

Testing Log XXXX-002: Procedure: Dip SCP-XXXX into a small vat of molten (1600°C) wrought iron. Vat contained 1L (One Liter) of molten wrought iron. Result: SCP-XXXX absorbed 828ml2 of the molten iron . Several pieces of hardened wrought iron remained in the vat along with leftover molten wrought iron. (Approx. 100ml of molten wrought iron.)3

Incident XXXX-1: During testing, D-████ had a small puncture in his right hand prior to handling SCP-XXXX. Upon contact with the small amount of blood from said puncture, D-████’s blood was absorbed out of his right arm. D-████ was terminated shortly after.4

Notes
No anomalous liquids are to be cleaned using SCP-XXXX. We understand that it could be helpful, however introducing SCP-XXXX to anomalous liquids could become a hazard or destroy SCP-XXXX itself. -Dr. ██████ Project Leader

Standard hazardous environment protection is insufficient to prevent inhalation of SCP-XXXX-1. Future liquid reclamation is to be done remotely if SCP-XXXX-1 is toxic. -Dr. ██████ Project Leader
