Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in the Classified Materials Vault of Site █. Only personnel with written permission from a Level 3 or higher researcher may open, handle or view SCP-XXXX.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a standard CD-ROM which was found in a marked, clear disc container labelled ‘████ Mix Volume 2’. The item was initially found in the attic of ███ ████ in a box along with various magazines. After the disturbing content of the disk was revealed, the authorities were immediately contacted who began a brief investigation which halted at the discovery of the item’s anomalous properties.

When used, SCP-XXXX behaves similar to a standard disc. However, the disc’s content changes based on the individuals present at viewing. Each person is believed to have a particular recording directed towards them, which is supported by the accompanying images which are almost always portraits shots or other photos depicting the said person. The displayed images are pictures that most closely represent this individual; as such they are usually recently taken pictures, despite often being taken after SCP-XXXX’s initial discovery and sometimes, in a few notably rare cases, after the viewing of SCP-XXXX. Once the first play through is complete, SCP-XXXX will either repeat or cycle to the next person in the room. The recordings are known to constantly repeat for an infinite amount of time.

The recording often centers on a single individual who is believed to be the same person the recording is directed at.

Test #XXXX-1: (14/█/███)
Subject: D-0789 (Male)
SCP-XXXX displayed on-screen an image of D-0789 taken 3 years prior to viewing. Subject claimed the image was taken by his wife in their ██████ home around the █/4/███.
At 0:02 a crowd of people (hypothesized to be around ██-███ in size) can be heard as well as the footsteps of both the crowd and D-0789 (unconfirmed).
At 0:08 two gunshots produced from a Colt M1911 are heard as the crowd breaks down into screaming.
From 0:09-0:15 continuous gunfire from an AK-47 is heard as well as repeated fire from the Colt.
At 0:14 a body is heard falling to the ground after nearby gunfire.
Recording ends at 0:15.
Notes: Identification of firearms featured in Test #XXXX-1 are based on the sound produced by the gunfire. Subject seemed initially shocked at the content and on third play through became increasingly disturbed, requesting the Test end by the beginning of fourth run.

Test #XXXX-2: (█/█/███)
Subject: D-4006 (Female)
Unlike Test #XXXX-1, SCP-XXXX began with an image of subject that had yet to be taken. The photo featured the Subject in a manner similar to her current state, and also featured an unidentified human male of an estimated █3 years of age. subject confirmed she was unaware of the identity of the other figure, or the time of the photographs taking.
At 0:01 footsteps can he heard.
At 0:03 a second pair are also identified.
At around 0:06 a scream and cries for help, confirmed to be that of D-4006, and sounds of a struggle follow.
At 0:10 the screams are muffled as a tearing sound is heard.
From 0:11 to 5:57 muffled screaming continues as well as [DATA EXPUNGED].
At 5:59 the impact of a blunt object is heard followed by sounds identified as dragging which continues up to 6:03 where the recording ends.
Notes: Similar to the firearms in Test XXXX-1, the identity of the female featured in this recording was only discovered by comparing the voice tones between her and the subject (same applies to future tests). During the test, subject repeatedly requested to prematurely end the viewing, which was denied by research staff. When asked to comment at the end of the third play through, subject is quoted as having said ‘what kind of fucked up person made this?’

Test #XXXX-3: (█/█/███)
Subject: D-████
SCP-XXXX initiated with a picture of subject taken by Foundation Staff for cataloging taken on the 2/12/███.
At 0:01 notably heavy breathing and footsteps are heard.
At 0:04 crying can be heard, belonging to D-████ which continues from 0:04 to 1:16.
At 1:17 the crying stops and footsteps are again resumed.
At 1:19 sounds indicate a door opens and several flights of stairs are scaled.
At 2:23 a second door opens and walking resumes.
At 2:30 walking stops and wind is clearly head indicating high altitude.
After a brief pause, at 2:36 wind is heard rapidly moving past indicating a sudden drop in altitude.
At 2:38 a ██████ noise is heard followed by a cease in altitude drop and the screams of a crowd.
Recording ends at 2:42.
Notes: After initial viewing subject suffered an intense emotional reaction and a break down, becoming increasingly aggressive towards personnel saying, ‘it doesn’t know me! I can’t know me!’ subject was placed in confinement and tests were finalized for the day.

Addendum XXXX-1: On the 17/6/███, Dr ████ removed SCP-XXXX from containment without authorized permission, and moved it to an unmonitored location.

After SCP-XXXX was found missing from the Classified Materials Vault without proper authentication, Dr ████ was contacted who refused to return SCP-XXXX to containment saying that ‘he needed to see for himself’. Dr ████ was ordered to return the SCP-XXXX under threat of termination but again refused and ended communication.

A team of three E Class personnel were sent to recover the item and eliminate Dr ████. After a short search, Dr ████ was found in an isolated room viewing SCP-XXXX, seemingly in shock, on a standard television media device. After his instant execution, the team noted that SCP-XXXX was playing audio that seemed to perfectly represent the 2 minutes leading up to Dr ████’s death.

Until further notice, all testing on SCP-XXXX is temporarily suspended until a replacement researcher is found.
