Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained inside of a reflective metallic box that is at least five (5) by five (20) by five (5) meters. The box must contain three layers:

  • First being a metallic alloy that is able to reflect sound completely.
  • Second being made of sound dampening material.
  • Third being a metallic alloy that is able to reflect sound completely.

The reflective metal box must have cycling doors that bolts shut in the event of power failure. In conclusion, the containment chamber must have an entrance chamber that cycles the entrance door and containment chamber door to prevent containment breach. Doors must be made to reflect sound and withstand vibrations. Doors must be covered with sound curtains 24/7.

To enter the containment chamber, staff are required to wear sound-cancelling headphones that blocks sound of a minimum of thirty decibels. Class D personnel that are used for testing will enter the chamber with headphones at first. Sound recording is allowed.

Description: SCP-XXXX does not take a physical form but rather a "sound" form. SCP-XXXX is a binaural tone that does not appear to fade away to nothing regardless of distance. The tone will stay the same volume as it travels through the air. The graphs depicting SCP-XXXX exactly matches up the binaural tone that is replicated on a frequency of [DATA EXPUNGED]. SCP-XXXX's effects can not carried out through microphone and is currently unable to be replicated for the reasons being [DATA EXPUNGED].

Upon hearing SCP-XXXX, the subject will began to relax, with brain waves and signals dropping on an alarming rate. The subject will occasionally mutter words such as "peace" or "calm" and sometimes call out for their parents and even closest of friends' names. Around thirty (30) seconds to a maximum of two (2) minutes, the subject will fall asleep, regardless of location.

The subject's brain activities will begin drop below normal delta waves and enter into a state that the subject is unable to wake for a duration of time, which is also known as "Epsilon". To enter from delta to epsilon takes approximately 3 (three) to ten (10) seconds of sleeping prior to hearing SCP-XXXX. Brain activities and signals will appear as if the subject is dead. Exactly eight (8) hours of falling into the state of "Epsilon", the subject will wake, regardless if SCP-XXXX is present.

Subjects appears to be much more focused, quicker to react, and also happy. The reaction time of the subjects had a time of ███ milliseconds when a [DATA EXPUNGED] was aimed at them, easily dodging the [DATA EXPUNGED] and [DATA EXPUNGED]. Subjects are also known to not be affected of sleep, staying awake indefinitely and sleeping "just for the relaxation and feeling". How long subjects are able to stay awake is still unknown and is suggested that subjects will stay awake until the end of their life. Subjects interviewed also concluded that no memories of dreaming were recalled, but instead remembers only the thing they were doing before being exposed to SCP-XXXX.

How SCP-XXXX is contained and its origin is still unknown and suggestions are inconclusive.

Addendum: Below contains experimentation logs, exposure, and videos of SCP-XXXX. Attached is also a one minute sample of SCP-XXXX.
