Description: SCP-987 is one double-hung sash window, with panes measuring 40.6cm x 50.8cm (16in x 20in), with a width of 3.05cm (1.2in). The "exterior" side has no anomalous properties and is transparent. However, the "interior" side of SCP-987 contains multiple anomalous and dangerous properties.
When viewing SCP-987, human subjects see a well-furnished living room, circa late 1980s or early 1990s. Occasionally, naked and bloodstained humanoids will enter the room and appear to interact socially, though more in depth analysis has proven that it is unlikely that these creatures truly understand what they are doing and are merely mimicking human behavior. They have also been observed to ransack the room randomly, though the humanoids place the furniture back in its original location within the next hour (One chair, believed to be wooden, has a broken leg, and no other pieces of furniture appear to be damaged in any way).

| X-rays of SCP-987-2 |

Visual exposure to SCP-987 causes a cognitohazardous effect on human subjects. Limited viewing causes sensations of nausea, mild paranoia, and minor random phobias. In addition, a small tumor begins to grow slowly on the subject's left frontal lobe once visual contact is made. It is mostly benign but continues to enlarge following additional viewing sessions with SCP-987, ceasing after approximately 3 hours of viewing. More prolonged exposure leads to the tumor growing faster, severe paranoia, onomatophobia of terms similar to "leave", and suicidal tendencies.
SCP-987 was found in a Saskatchewan farmhouse in 1997. The house’s residents were found sitting in front of it, armed, having apparently starved to death while looking through. The properties of SCP-987 were originally assumed to have been limited to its location in the north wall of the house’s living room. The anomaly was soon discovered to be contained between the double-paned glass.
Document #987-C: Memorandum on the Incident at the Nunavut Facility
As of August 15, 2002, Wing B of Site 10 in Nunavut, Canada has been declared closed following the accidental release of SCP-987’s contents. SCP-987 was recovered. There were six survivors, all Class D Personnel. Each exhibits signs of severe paranoia and suicidal tendencies. SCP-987 will be transferred to a secure bunker in Site 10 on September 20, 2002 following standard screening procedures and reevaluation of object class.
