Special Containment Procedures: SCP-2144 must be contained in a padded 10 x 10 foot containment cell. It must be provided with fresh food and water daily and is allowed books and a computer.¹The computer has limited web access, but allows Google searches and Wikipedia. Microsoft Programs, Calculator, Paint, Notepad, and a Text-to-Speech program is also contained on it.

Description: SCP-2144 is a domestic cat that seems to be completely skeletal. It only has the left eye intact, as its right eye seems to be missing entirely. SCP-2144 does not seem to have any organs, and it is unknown how it can survive or is able to eat. Any foods or beverages consumed by SCP-2144 seems to disappear and can be digested despite the lack of a stomach. SCP-2144 is a sentient animal and can speak through a collar (See Interview Session #1).

Addendum: SCP-2144 does not have a gender, as revealed by DNA testing. However, it prefers masculine pronouns. SCP-2144 is provided with a collar containing a translation program. The translation program is capable of translating animal speech to English. SCP-2144 prefers its speech to be translated in a German accent.

Dr. ██████: SCP-2144, can you please inform me on your backstory?

SCP-2144: Yes. Life began as a household kitty cat. I was adopted by a great family with a beautiful little girl who loved me very much. However, the father, a renowned scientist, had been known to do experiments around the house…

Dr. ██████: Interesting. Go on.. Wait. What do you mean, "experiments?"

SCP-2144: He wanted to try to reconstruct Schrödinger's thought experiment… on a live cat.

Dr. ██████: SCP-2144, you're aware that animal testing is illegal, right?

SCP-2144: Yes, I'm very aware of that.

Dr. ██████: Tell me, how did he do this without being caught?

SCP-2144: My family lived near the place of father's work. So, at night, when nobody else was on the property, he went in and conducted the experiment there.

Dr. ██████: Yes.. Go on..

SCP-2144: He locked me in a box with a flask of poison and a radioactive source. If the internal monitor detected a single atom decaying, the flask would smash and release the deadly poison. One of the atoms unfortunately decayed, the flask smashed, and I woke up in the remains of the lab along with his dead body.

Dr. ██████: Isn't that Schrodinger's thought experiment? You and I both know impossible things can happen here in this Foundation, but that experiment isn't possible. A cat cannot be both alive and dead.

SCP-2144: You're absolutely right. And yet, I exist, both alive and dead. Try and apply your science to that, my good man.

Dr. ██████: [is starting to get impatient] Moving on. You don't seem to have any vocal cords, but you can still make noises that can translate to speech. How is this possible?

SCP-2144: Radioactivity isn't like acid. It can't damage your vocal cords; only your lungs from inhaling the toxins.

Dr. ██████: What—nevermind. Can you tell us about your owner's father?

SCP-2144: He was an ancestor of Erwin Schrodinger, believe it or not.

Dr. ██████: Is this what compelled him to try and recreate that thought experiment?

SCP-2144: That would be my best guess.

Dr. ██████: Interesting.. And he's dead, correct?

SCP-2144: [nods head]

Dr. ██████: What about the rest of your family? Are they still alive?

SCP-2144: [pauses for a moment, then begins to speak] I'm not sure. But I remember their house perfectly. The girl took me on walks daily.

Dr. ██████: Would you please tell me how it looked?

SCP-2144: The roof was blue, and the rest of the house was a pinkish color. It was a two-story house.

Dr. ██████: Thank you for participating in the interview. You may continue with whatever you were doing.

Talking about its family seems to be a very sensitive topic with SCP-2144.

SCP-XXXX-1-F

Failed draft of another SCP.

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX must be contained in a titanium storage locker at all times. The locker must remain locked at all times unless it is being used for testing.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a dagger with a blade that appears to be completely frozen. The handle is made out of leather. It also has various markings etched into the leather. SCP-XXXX's blade is extremely cold, to the point of resulting in frostbite and cold burns on human skin, which requires it be carried in thick gloves. Despite it being frozen in ice for at least 665 years, it remained perfectly intact. SCP-XXXX can easily cut through human flesh. If SCP-XXXX causes a wound that bleeds, the blood that comes from the wound will turn into snow. The area of skin around the wound will crystallize, but leave the skeleton and organs intact and not frozen. SCP-XXXX's blade is made out of steel, and has a temperature of 2500 F°. The melting point of steel is 2500 F°, but despite this, SCP-XXXX has not melted.

Addendum: SCP-XXXX was found frozen in ice, by a mining company in Alaska. During a mining expedition, one of the miners broke through a weak ice wall and found SCP-XXXX sealed in an ice block. It dates back to 1350. The markings found on the handle are actually from an Inuit language. When translated, the markings said²"Anguta," which is an Inuit deity; the gatherer of the dead. The ice on SCP-XXXX's blade does not seem to melt.

Test A - █/██/2015

Subject: A death row convict, provided to the Foundation by a nearby jail.
Procedure: The death row convict was given a slash in the lower abdomen.
Results: After five minutes had passed, the subject's lower abdomen and lower body was completely frozen. It took an hour and a half to thaw him out.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX seems to freeze the area around any wounds given by it. The organs and skeleton, however, seem to remain untouched and unfrozen.

Social Psychology

Failed story about a mentally insane Class-D. It's here for reference because it's probably gonna get deleted soon has been deleted.

I hesitated at first, but I pressed the button. I had to get out of here. The door slid open before me, and sure enough, there it stood; SCP-173. I pressed my back against the wall and slowly started walking by it. I blinked once as I finally ended the long hallway. I spun around quickly and saw the vile statue right in front of me. With my back to the door, I pressed the wall over and over, trying to find the button opening it. I heard a loud click and the steam of the door opening. Sighing in relief, I closed my eyes.

*CRACK*

I woke up groggily to the sound of beeping. Opening my eyes, I saw a nurse in front of me. I looked around me; to my left there was a heart monitor, beeping at a steady pace without missing a beat. To my right, an IV. My right arm was attached to it. I tried getting up but felt immense pain and realized there was a cone around my neck. The nurse told me they had found me outside a building in an alleyway with my neck snapped. I explained my job to her, hoping maybe she knew. All she did was give me a weird look and left. The doctors came in and asked me where I was from, my name, if I had a family. I answered them truthfully, even about my job and place of work; they just shook their heads at me.

They eventually decided the best choice was to send me to a psychiatric ward. I got lucky and went without a straitjacket or a padded room. I'm still there, if you're wondering. Every night I see that damned statue in my dreams, and every day I wake up in sweat, hoping to be back at the foundation; it's better than this mental asylum. Someday, I'll get out.. Someday..

One of the doctors turned away from the video feed. "I think we should let him out now. He's gone through enough trauma, don't you think?" The other few doctors in the room nodded their heads in agreement. The first doctor turned back to the video feed screen to look at the patient, ranting and raving like a madman.

"Dr. Phillips, please get the amnestics. Dr. Lee and Dr. Baker, follow me."

+ Explanation

He was insane the entire time. He was a D-Class personnel who had schizophrenia and eventually tried to attack SCP-999 and SCP-1048, thinking they were spirits, come to murder him. His mental state was deteriorating fast, so they placed him under anesthesia and sent him to a nearby hospital. There, they were told to pretend they didn't believe him, in hopes maybe he would eventually convince himself it wasn't real, and were given amnestics for emergency reasons.

2. Anguta is the father of the sea goddess Sedna in Inuit mythology. In certain myths of the Greenland Inuit Anguta is considered the creator-god and is the supreme being among of the Inuit people. In other myths, Anguta is merely a mortal widower. His name, meaning "man with something to cut," refers to his mutilating of his daughter which ultimately resulted in her godhood, an act he carried out in both myths. Anguta is a psychopomp, ferrying souls from the land of the living to the underworld, called Adlivun, where his daughter rules.
