Item #: SCP-1276

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: The entity is to be kept in a five (5) meter by five (5) meter containment cell, with walls and ceiling comprising of either one (1) meter of concrete, or twenty-five (25) centimeters of steel.

Access to the room is to be limited to a single entrance with an airlock. This airlock must have the same strength as the walls, and be controlled exclusively from the outermost door. A camera is to be mounted in the airlock to monitor the entrance of personnel.

Every thirty (30) days, or during the monthly Class-D termination cycle, one (1) Class-D personnel is to be sent into the entity's containment cell. Failure to provide these personnel will result in the entity becoming violent, with an accompanying increase in strength and stamina. This increase has no known upper limit at this time.

Description: SCP-1276 is a humanoid figure approximately 1.6 meters in height and weighing approximately 90 kilograms in its 'inactive' state. The entity resembles a human female, covered entirely in black latex or leather, with small, bright points of light for eyes.

Attempts to illuminate the entity for closer examination have failed, as it seems capable of controlling the reflection coefficient of its skin. In dim lighting, the entity's skin has been described as having a sheen like latex, while in bright lighting, it is a pure, indistinguishable black. Under such lighting, the entity withdraws into itself, seeming to lose most of its humanoid characteristics and taking on the appearance of a simple, roughly spherical, shape.

The true texture of the entity's skin is unknown, as contact with the entity results in an immediate and lethal reaction. On contact with any organic object, the entity's skin appears to liquefy and travel along the object, in a manner very similar to water running down a vertical surface. This effect does not seem to lessen the mass of the entity, as though it created additional skin for this purpose. The mechanism behind this is currently unknown.

Once it has completely encased the organism with which it came into contact, the liquefied skin reverts back to its original appearance, giving the entity's victim the appearance of being completely wrapped in latex. Death by suffocation usually occurs within two to three minutes, with the victim's struggles having no apparent effect on the entity.

After the death of the victim, the entity will subside into a hibernation state, as the victim is digested by means currently unknown. The entity resumes movement two or three days after entering the hibernation phase, though it will not actively seek another victim for a time span of approximately one month.

When it begins to hunt for another victim, the entity will grow agitated if confined, and the greater its agitation, the stronger it becomes. An attempt was made to hold the entity in a more resilient cell to test the upper limit of the entity's strength. All future tests were forbidden without express permission from a director, after the last experiment resulted in [DATA REDACTED] and the incidental deaths of ██ personnel, before the entity reached a security guard and went dormant again, at which point it could be moved back into its containment cell.
