Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in Security Box ██ at Site ██. Security Level 3-XXXX or higher is required to access SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-1 is to be contained in Security Box ██. Security clearance level 4-XXXX or higher is required to access SCP-XXXX-1. Both items' containers are to remain locked and separated in storage when not being used for research purposes. A

If SCP-XXXX's containment is breached, Security Protocol 99-Atë is to be put in effect. This will include the raising of security levels and the distribution of newly-drafted security protocols. Abiding by new assignments, security teams will carry out new orders and secure SCP-XXXX, SCP-XXXX-1 and any other missing items.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a pair of wrought iron spectacles, measuring 13.5 Centimeters in width, and 14.5 Centimeters in length. In addition to the lenses proper, SCP-XXXX possesses an additional four (4) coloured lenses that are affixed to the frames via thin metal wires. These wires can raise and lower each lens independently. Each coloured lens has a diameter of 2 Centimeters. Damage to the wiring indicates that there are ████ (█) lenses missing from SCP-XXXX's original construction. The craftsmanship to the frames makes it apparent that these additional lenses were not a part of the original design. Researchers have since been able to determine, based on the design of the item, that the spectacles were originally made some time in the 1800s [INCONCLUSIVE DATA].

The apparent modifications to SCP-XXXX are as follows:

Right Lens

  1. Transparent Lens

Left Lens

  1. Green Lens
  2. Red Lens
  3. Blue Lens

SCP-XXXX was found on 6/██/1940 in an abandoned watchmaker's workshop in █████, France. Following a raid on suspected French Resistance Fighters, members of German Army Group A discovered the anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX and reported the item to their Field Commander. SCP-XXXX was quickly transferred to paranormal researchers in Berlin. Foundation elements were able to intercept the item before it reached its destination, and redirected it to Foundation facilities. All German documentations of this item have been confiscated, destroyed or otherwise altered. The military personnel who had come into contact with SCP-XXXX have been sworn into silence.

Whether SCP-XXXX had been damaged before or during transit to Foundation facilities is unknown. SCP-XXXX arrived with only ███ (█) of the ████ (█) lenses which were broken off. It is not known at this time if the missing lenses are destroyed, lost, or in the hands of rogue elements.

Out of the ███ (█) separated lenses, only one (1) showed signs of anomalous properties. This lens is tinted black, measuring at the same 2 Centimeter diameter as the others. It has been since reclassified as SCP-XXXX-1

ADDENDUM: On 6/8/20██ the archaeological excavation in Knossos, Crete discovered a pair of spectacle frames almost identical to SCP-XXXX. No lenses were accounted for at the dig site. This puts the age of SCP-XXXX into question.
