Item #: SCP-2046

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-2046 is to be kept within an 8 x 8 meter room. SCP-2046 is to be in containment at all times. Any personnel sent in to retrieve D-Class, are to remain behind the yellow tape in order to avoid the influinces of SCP-2046. In the case of a deceased D-Class, Personnel must remain behind the yellow tape until an automated drone can retrieve the corpse and deleiver it to the safe zone. If the SCP requires cleaning a D-Class known to have sufficent skills to play the piano is to be seated at the bench while a cleaning team is sent in to clean up the room.

Description: SCP-2046 apears to be a Grand Piano about 1.5 meters in length, and 1.4 meters in width. Located on SCP-2046's Music rack, is a large blue binder which contains approximately 250 blank pages. But, upon opening the binder while a person is sitting at the piano bench, a set of the blank pages will become a random piece of sheet music ranging from Classical music from the 1700's such as, Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata', split up into movements, to current day Pop music such as, Pharrell Williams's 'Happy'.

The piano was discovered in ████████████ ██████ USA. The object came to the attention of the foundation after 2 individuals had been reported dead from an unknown source that caused brain damage along with 3 other individuals missing. From the information the local medical staff has gathered, it's safe assume that each individual had experienced over 200 decibels of sound. Anyone near, or close, to the individuals who had died, could not hear the sounds at all. It is assumed that only the person playing SCP-2046 can hear these sounds.

SCP- 2046 has an influence zone of 4 meters. (Designated by the yellow tape) Upon leaving SCP-2046's safe zone, the individual aproaching the SCP will develop a sudden urge to take a seat upon SCP-2046's bench. However these urges can be suppressed if the individual is to repress any thoughts of the piano and move away from the SCP as quickly as possible. If the attempts to suppress the urges fails the individual will take a seat on the bench and the user will be unable to move from their spot. The only known ways to leave the spot is to open the blue binder and play the sheet music presented to them with as little to no errors as possible, or by removing the subject at the base of the waist.

Once an individual has taken their seat and opened the binder, they must play the sheet music in full within approximately 10 minutes after taking their seat. If the user is to complete the sheet music and survive they will be able to leave their seat and the SCP's influences will be ineffective to the user for a short amount of time. However, if the user fails to press the correct keys, they will be exposed to a small dose of decibels, (Assumed to start at around 60-100 decibels) increasing every time a wrong note is pressed eventually being exposed to 200 decibels of sound and dying within 30 seconds.

However, if the individual is still alive at the 7 minute mark they will begin to see SCP-2046-1. All descriptions of SCP-2046-1 are unreliable as SCP-2046-1 will constantly change its appearance between those who see it. SCP-2046-1 will gradually approach the individual using SCP-2046. Once the timer hits 10 minutes the user will be taken by SCP-2046-1 to an unknown location.

For some time it was thought that those taken by SCP-2046-1 would never be seen again. However in 10/09/2013 6 individuals were found at site █. (4 Civilians and 2 D-Class) The individuals had formed a group in order to escape SCP-2046-1. Upon interviewing the survivors only 2 of them were willing to talk about their encounter with SCP-2046-1. From the interviews SCP-2046-1 appears to feast upon human beings in order to survive. SCP-2046 is thought to be bait for unsuspecting victims in order to deliver food to SCP-2046-1. It is also assumed that there are more objects similar to SCP-2046's properties around the world and are also delivering humans in order to feed SCP-2046-1. These objects are to be found and relocated to the Foundation in order to starve out SCP-2046-1. If further information is required on the location of these objects the use of D-Class is authorized in order to gain information from the victims in SCP-2046-1's realm.

Addendum

Addendum 2046-3 If the SCP is in use, anyone within the influence of SCP-2046 will have no disire to sit on the bench of SCP-2046, until the person using SCP-2046 has died, or finished their sheet music. At this point personnel are allowed to pass the safe zone and experiment SCP-2046 as they please. However, all personnel must carry a stop watch on their person. Once their timers have reached 7 minutes all personnel must leave the containment room immediately, no exceptions. If the user of SCP-2046 is able to see SCP-2046-1 all personnel are to evacuate the testing room.
