SCP-2180

Item #: SCP-2180

Object Class: Euclid Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-2180 are to be contained in a 2m x 2m x 3m Plexiglas cage separate from each other. SCP-2180 can be handled by level 2 personnel or higher for bi-monthly inspection. If SCP-2180 is to be let go of it must carefully be placed without any force or forward momentum so it remains still. SCP-2180 must never be thrown, shaken or, smashed unless it in enforced during permitted experimentation.

Description: SCP-2180 is a collection of small asteroids (roughly 10-20 inches in diameter) spotted orbiting the earth by an astronomy site in the ███████ desert in 2003. SCP-2180's texture is smooth due to it being shaped as an almost perfect ellipse. It has a stripe pattern of white and light grey earning SCP-2180 the nickname "White Watermelon Asteroids." The element of SCP-2180 is currently unknown.

SCP-2180's most definitive characteristic the fact that they are not constrained or affected by gravity. If any force is applied to SCP-2180, it's momentum will remain constant until it collides with an object. if said object has less mass than SCP-2180, it will continue moving at a lower velocity. If said object has a greater mass than SCP-2180, it will ricochet off the object and continue to move at a constant velocity.

Although it disregards gravity, SCP-2180 only does so if it's in one piece. If SCP-2180 were to be broken to any extent, the laws of gravity will apply to it under this circumstance.

Despite SCP-2180 being harmless if handled and used with relative caution, they have induced injuries on those who haven't.

Incident 2180-4-1: Three level 2 personnel were examining SCP-2180-4 shortly after initial retrieval. One of them lightly released SCP-2180-4 into the air. SCP-2180-4 was moving toward the back wall. The troops turned their backs on SCP-2180-4 as one of them started recording an audio log. SCP-2180-4 ricocheted off the wall and hit a troop in the back of the head. he immediately fell on his knees and grunted in pain. The troop had experienced minor head trauma. Fortunately, the troop fully recovered in a matter of weeks.

Incident 2180-13-1: 8 days after initial retrieval, four Class D personnel were ordered to enter an experimentation chamber containing SCP-2180-13. Once they entered the chamber, they were told to "screw around" with SCP-2180-13. It started off fine with the test subjects passing it to each other like a toy ball among other actions. One of the subjects then proceeded to forcefully spin SCP-2180-13 on it's axis.

Once SCP-2180-13 hit the wall, it immediately started flinging around the chamber with immense speed. SCP-2180-13 struck two Class D personnel; bashing subject D-0████ in the side of the head and subject D-2████ in the rib cage. SCP-2180-13 cracked the left side of the subject D-0████'s skull as well as causing brain damage. SCP-2180-13 had completely shattered subject D-2████'s rib cage. The two other test subjects screamed for help.

The guards ran into the room to carry the subjects out and stop SCP-2180-13 from moving. Subject D-2████ died of massive internal bleeding within two minutes. Subject D-0████ was put down one hour after the incident.
