SCP-XXXX – “Rage Quit”

Object Class: Safe

Containment Procedure: SCP-XXXX is to be stored within a medium security containment locker at Site-██. SCP-XXXX is under no circumstance to be placed within a games console, CD/DVD playback or any other device of this kind unless authorized by the site supervisor for the purposes of testing.

Description: SCP-XXXX consists of an outer casing, resembling that of a standard video game (in terms of shape and dimensions) for Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo consoles. The casing includes a front cover that reads the words “FIFA”. Unlike legitimate FIFA editions, SCP-XXXX does not specify the year of release as part of the title. Inside the case is a standard disc, also reading the acronym “FIFA”. Neither the casing, nor the disc, specifies the type of games console designed for that edition. Testing has proven that the disc is compatible with all devices that contain a CD/DVD disc reader.

SCP-XXXX came to the attention of the Foundation after news reports circulated about a series of unprovoked, broad-daylight attacks by a Mr. Andrew Whitworth, a 1█ year-old male student living in [REDACTED], United Kingdom. The Foundation did not originally peruse the containment of SCP-XXXX until the parents of Mr. Whitworth began expressing to friends and family that attacks committed by the individual seemed to occur right after, or during, the period of time he was playing on his game (SCP-XXXX). It is unknown how Mr. Whitworth originally acquired SCP-XXXX.

When SCP-XXXX is placed inside a device that is equipped with disc reading/playback hardware and a visual output device, SCP-XXXX will immediately begin to load via both these devices. SCP-XXXX appears to be capable of loading itself regardless of power input into either the playback or visual output device. Once loaded, the visual output device to which SCP-XXXX is connected will display a loading screen. This will display for approximately 10 seconds. After this period, the screen will change to a crude menu screen that gives the user a single option; Begin Game. When the user chooses this option, SCP-XXXX will load a game of football that resembles that of a standard edition of FIFA 16. In all cases, the user is seen to be pitched against the AI. The team names are specified in the top corner of the screen by the scoreboard as simply; “you” vs “me”. The player graphics appear to be standard humanoids with no distinguishable facial features. Each player can be seen to be wearing all white for the case of the player and all black for the case of the AI. There are no visible external features to the pitch in which the game is been played.

If during the game the user is the first to score, the game will immediately end, the disc will automatically eject from the playback device and will render the playback and visual output device completely inoperable. No effects are recorded toward the user in this instance. If during the game, the AI scores first (as appears to be most common), the game will continue. After the first goal is scored against the user, the user will become visibly frustrated. The user will now be referred to as SCP-XXXX-1. After a second goal is scored, SCP-XXXX-1 will begin to shout and scream in anger. After a third goal is scored, SCP-XXXX-1 will begin to attack the visual output and playback device with any means at its disposal. This is usually accomplished by using the games controller. If SCP-XXXX-1 is successful in destroying the devices to a point where they are no longer operably, SCP-XXXX-1 will return to a standard calm state. If they are unsuccessful, SCP-XXXX-1 will attempt to remove SCP-XXXX from the playback device and upon doing so, attempt to destroy SCP-XXXX. So far no examples of SCP-XXXX-1 have been successful in destroying SCP-XXXX. After 5-7 minutes of unsuccessful acts of violence against SCP-XXXX by SCP-XXXX-1, SCP-XXXX-1 will attempt to attack any living human within a radius of 10 metres. This will then create the potential for a chain reaction; if SCP-XXXX-1 does not encounter a living human within 4-6 minutes, it will return to a standard calm state. If SCP-XXXX-1 does encounter a human with this time frame, it will attack them with any means that are available too it at that time. If SCP-XXXX-1 renders the subject unconscious or deceased it will begin to attack any other living humans within a 10 metre radius. With each living human SCP-XXXX-1 attacks, the methods of violence towards the victim increase in intensity.

Methods of inflicting damage upon victims by SCP-XXXX-1 include; burning, bludgeoning, stabbing, slashing, shooting, punching, kicking, head-butting, strangulation, attempting to remove the subjects [DATA EXPUNGED], dismemberment and crushing.
