SCP-XXXX

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures:
There are currently no physical means of containing SCP-XXXX due to the nature and sporadic appearance of the anomalous condition. Individuals presumed to be affected by SCP-XXXX are to be closely monitored for any signs of progression. Should the individual display any possible symptoms of SCP-XXXX, immediate sedation and capture is to be initiated once the individual can be contained in a cordoned-off area away from the general public. By that point, affected individuals are to be labelled as instances of SCP-XXXX-1 and should be transported to the nearest Foundation-owned outpost, medical center or facility. Individuals must be tested and analyzed for any neurological symptoms, and affected individuals may be interviewed via therapy session if they are at Stage Three of progression or higher. If no trace of SCP-XXXX is detected from the initial symptoms, individuals must be given Class B amnesthetics, removed from SCP-XXXX-1 labelling, and transferred to the nearest medical center. If a trace of SCP-XXXX is detected, the instance or instances of SCP-XXXX are to be transported to Site 17.

Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be contained in a 5-2-5 meter concrete cell. They must be routinely monitored and interviewed every two weeks, and are encouraged to document their daily activities in bi-weekly journals, which will be collected and replaced at the end of each month. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are not allowed near other mentally ill individuals, particularly those diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder, Dissociative Amnesia Disorder, Antisocial and Borderline Personality Disorders, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Should any instances of SCP-XXXX-1 come into contact with any persons affected by any form of psychological disorder, they must be immediately sedated and removed from the scene.

Description:
SCP-XXXX is a male Hispanic about 12 years of age, measuring 1.5 meters in height, and weighing 45.8 kgs. SCP-XXXX appears to suffer from Dissociative Personality Disorder and will occasionally switch between various personalities based on its reactions to certain stimuli, or by distractions, injury, or fear. Should an experience overwhelm SCP-XXXX, an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 will temporarily possess the object's subconscious, taking complete control over motor and bodily functions. SCP-XXXX may experience a variety of physical and/or mental alterations, such as changes in voice, increases or decreases in height or weight, or spontaneous mood swings. SCP-XXXX-1's influence will direct how SCP-XXXX acts, and the personality can react to outside influences as well. If the instance of SCP-XXXX-1 feels threatened in any way, it may attempt physical manifestation outside of SCP-XXXX's body.

During SCP-XXXX-1's manifestation, SCP-XXXX will undergo psychological trauma, rendering it temporarily immobile. The trauma influences SCP-XXXX-1's manifested form and determines the overall appearance of the instance. Manifestation time ranges from one to six minutes, but is inconsistent with the manifestation's appearance. SCP-XXXX often experiences seizures, convulsions, and migraines during a manifestation, and will usually fall unconscious. To date, a total of seven of these manifestations have been recorded by research staff:

The instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are extremely hostile towards any biological organism that comes within a 5-meter diameter of their location. Each instance of SCP-XXXX-1 will attack through violent means until the subject(s) near it or the instance itself are terminated. SCP-XXXX-1 instances will typically ignore any communication attempts made. No SCP-XXXX-1 instances appear to be sentient when physically manifested.

Most instances of SCP-XXXX-1 can be prevented from manifesting by monitoring SCP-XXXX's daily routines. SCP-XXXX should not be allowed near extremely graphic media and must refrain from interaction of said media. Particularly violent individuals and SCPs should not be tested alongside SCP-XXXX unless required for research. SCP-XXXX must not remain unsupervised for longer than 30 minutes, and it should not be allowed near any human corpse, particularly those that are recently deceased. Should any instance of SCP-XXXX-1 manifest, it can be easily terminated if SCP-XXXX is removed from the area, about 10 meters away from the instance's location. If this fails, the use of fire, most hazardous gaseous chemicals, and heavy artillery will often destroy SCP-XXXX-1.

Addendum:

It should also be noted that the instances of SCP-XXXX-1 have no understanding or capacity of obedience to SCP-XXXX itself, and will not obey it whatsoever. Instances react in a more sluggish manner when in possession of SCP-XXXX's subconscious, but are fully independent upon physical manifestation.

An anomaly caused by SCP-XXXX was recorded on March 07, 20██, during an interview with SCP-XXXX while under the influence of SCP-XXXX-1. The instance of SCP-XXXX-1 was previously unrecorded, and has not been encountered since. Below is the recorded anomaly:

Interview Log XXXX-1-7:
Interviewed: SCP-XXXX
Interviewer: Dr. ██████
Foreword: SCP-XXXX was interviewed on March 07, 20██, whilst under the influence of SCP-XXXX-1A ("Archie") as a means of understanding the behavior and memetic influences of SCP-XXXX-1 instances on SCP-XXXX. During the conversation, an unknown SCP-XXXX-1 instance possessed the object, cancelling out SCP-XXXX-1A's influence, and began displaying unusually potent memetic effects on the doctor. Near the end of the interview the instance fully manifested within SCP-XXXX, completely altering its physical appearance to fit the instance, before attacking and [REDACTED].
<Begin Log, 10 minutes>
Dr. ██████: Good evening, SCP-XXXX. How are you feeling today?
SCP-XXXX: Fine, sir.
Dr. ██████: (adjusts files in clipboard) Good to hear. I suppose we're ready to discuss…you know why I'm here, correct?
SCP-XXXX: To…um…talk about…my friends,

Analysis and Afterword:
To date, SCP-XXXX is being closely monitored for any signs of fear or anxiety. The SCP will periodically enter a catatonic state and may remain unresponsive for a length of time up to 10 hours. Fewer instances of SCP-XXXX-1 have been recorded to appear even during stress, and no new or unrecorded instances have occurred. No instances of SCP-XXXX-1 have attempted physical manifestation since. It is now required that at least one researcher pay visit to SCP-XXXX 10 times a month should its depression begin to worsen.

Afterword by Dr. █████:
It is imperative that we keep an eye on SCP-XXXX. The kid isn't the danger, but his emotions certainly are. So far, it doesn't seem like depression or inherent trauma causes any of these manifestations to appear, but rather negate the effects. For the time being, our best bet is to keep an eye on SCP-XXXX and to track any behavioral changes, and should the time come for another experiment, we'll be ready. As for the instance of SCP-XXXX-1G, there has been no further appearances from it.
