Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is contained within a specialized unit at site 37-B. The containment unit is specifically modified and mounted within a sufficiently large three-gimbal mechanism capable of rotating the containment unit in its entirety to any orientation. Walls and ceiling of the containment unit are covered with foam padding to prevent damage to SCP-XXXX during an orientation shift.

Any requests by SCP-XXXX for furnishings, if granted, must be securely bolted to the floor of the containment unit. Any smaller items must either be tethered to bolted furniture, secured via hook-and-loop fasteners, or sufficiently magnetic to maintain its position in the event of an abrupt change in orientation.

SCP-XXXX has been equipped with a subdermal gravitational sensor. At 8:17 GMT -500, the containment unit is to be rotated to match the recorded orientation and angle of incidence of this sensor. On days when the angle of incidence is 10 degrees or fewer, SCP-XXXX may request permission to visit recreational areas of the facility. If granted, SCP-XXXX must be escorted by at least one personnel member at all times not in containment, and is not allowed outside the facility for any reason.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a human female 23 years of age, formerly a student at [REDACTED]. In defiance of Newtonian physics, SCP-XXXX is not necessarily restrained by Earth's gravity. At 8:17 GMT -500, its gravitational attraction will shift to a different astronomical object. Foundation researchers have found no correlation between the objects. Thus far, identifiable objects have included Earth itself, Tethys, 4942 Munroe, Saiph, and [REDACTED]. Only the direction of the gravitational attraction of the subject is changed; the magnitude of the attraction is consistent with that of earth.

The anomalous behaviour extends to small items and garments only as long as they are either held or worn by the subject. When released or removed, standard gravity reasserts itself and the object falls in the standard direction for "down". However, organic material removed from the subject, such as hair cuttings, nail trimmings, and waste, maintain their anomalous orientation. Note: Organic material no longer attached to the subject will NOT experience an orientation shift. See Addendum SCP-XXXX-1.

SCP-XXXX was brought into Foundation custody following the events of [DATA EXPUNGED]. Witnesses were treated with class-A amnestics and cover stories were created by Foundation agents. It is speculated others were affected by the incident and exhibit similar anomalous behaviour. However, SCP-XXXX was indoors at the time.

Addendum SCP-XXXX-1: On ██/██/20██ SCP-XXXX exhibited fever symptoms and complained of lower right quadrant pain. An MRI scan revealed acute appendicitis. At the time, SCP-XXXX's angle of incident was 180 degrees, effectively keeping her on the ceiling. Foundation medical staff were only able to perform an open surgery and the organ was removed without incident. SCP-XXXX recovered within four days. The removed organ is currently in Foundation medical storage and has the same orientation under which it was removed.
