Item #: SCP-2452

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Containment and prevention of SCP-2452 instances is currently impossible. Mobile Taskforce PSI-9 ("Driftwood") is to be dispatched to any location showing signs of SCP-2452 activity. MTF Ψ-9 is also tasked with tracking all subjects and objects believed to have been expelled from 2452-A, and bring them into custody. Subjects are to be studied, interrogated and then released after the administration of B-amnesiac, with the constant surveillance and approval of a level 3/2452 researcher.

Web analysis bot DELTA-32 ("J.R.R") is to be kept in constant operation and checked for defects twice a week by a Level-2 staff member familiar with its operation. When functional, the bot will search all worldwide government owned websites dedicated to law enforcement and medical records of psychiatric patients for any descriptions with over 85% similarity to collected data about 2452-A.

Foundation Personnel are not allowed to come in contact with SCP-2452, given the hostility of its inhabitants and the low chance of recovery from 2452-A.

Containment Procedure Update ██/██/19891: Automated surveillance station 2452 has been constructed 7 km east-northeast of the city of Płońsk in Poland, under the guise of a weather station. In the event of an unusual strong localized SCP-2452 manifestation within a 12 km radius, an alarm based on SCP-2452-8 will notify all personnel assigned. Maintenance is to be made every four (4) months.

Description: SCP-2452 is a space-time phenomenon2 that connects our universe to the one labeled 2452-A.
Direct observation of an SCP-2452 instance by Foundation research personnel has not yet occurred. Eyewitness reports state that the anomaly is undetectable to human eyes but can carry through sound and enough particles to sense aromas.
The anomaly absorbs and disrupts local radio waves and is thus detectable with equipment as simple as a cellular phone. It is estimated to be less than 7 meters in diameter.
The anomaly manifests in light levels lower than 0.001 lux.
The manifestations have a duration between milliseconds and up to an hour.
Any increase in light levels will make all SCP-2452 cease.

2452-A is an isolated alternative version of Europe. Its topography is widely different from ours. Likewise is the climate, with jungle in the region of northern Ukraine and a large desert in the region of Poland, for example. Around this world is a wall of variable height, material, style and craftsmanship. The Wall is said by the locals to be as old as the world itself, which according to legend is around 3300 years. Beyond The Wall is seemingly an empty void. Evidence points to the conclusion that this is an alternate to the planet Tellus with an existing area outside The Wall. Such evidence include: the orbits of the sun and moon3, the force of the gravitational pull, the existence of a an atmosphere and a magnetic field4, and the curvature of the horizon.

The overall culture and technology of 2452-A is comparable with those found in the fictional genre of Fantasy, comparable to Europe ca. 1500-1820. There are a variety of humanoid races and other intelligent species, a majority of which can be found by name or with an accurate description within our own mythology. Common traits among its inhabitants is impulsive violent behavior, erratic behaviour and mental degradation. These, and other traits have witnesses described as "Madness" or "Insanity". Research is underway to determine if a large quantity of SCP's and/or anomalous objects may have originated from 2452-A and whether they should be reclassified.

Subjects expelled from an SCP-2452 instance have reported being in 2452-A for period ranging from hours to decades, when their disappearance in our reality lasted a maximum of 43 minutes. Subjects can be expelled from any SCP-2452 instance globally, regardless of entry point. The 2452-A side of an SCP-2452 instance is always in the area corresponding to the western half of Ukraine. The departure from 2452-A has differed widely, with most in the form of help from various locals using non standardized magic. Most inhabitants are highly hostile towards the notion of other worlds and such claims can lead to mental institutionalization or a death penalty for heresy, depending on the society present.

SCP-2452-8 is a ship's compass, with a diameter of 12,4 cm, made mostly of steel and brass. Engraved on the back is the following: "Metal Movers Compass No2, #573". The compass needle does not react to magnetic fields except from 2452-A's naturally occurring one. When influenced by 2452-A's magnetic field, and with the dial in contact with skin5, any object containing metal that is being handled by the subject moves horizontally in the direction of the compasses' transit lock. The force is determined by the percentage of metal in the mass of the object, and the vertical angle of the transit lock, with no pull when angled completely vertical. No experiments in lab environment have been conducted.
SCP-2452-8 was discovered by MTF Ψ-9 when investigating a SCP-2452 manifestation, glued to the gas pedal of a heavily damaged car. The car had no fuel in its tank.
SCP-2452-8 is currently in the possession of MTF Ψ-9 to be used as a SCP-2452 tracking device incorporated in the alarm system of Automated surveillance station 2452.
