Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a sealed case and secured in Safe 76 located in Site 12. Personal studying SCP-XXXX are to wear latex gloves and follow the procedures listed in Hazardous Material Handling data sheet 1-8 (Handling of contact-hazardous material). Any personnel coming into contact with SCP-XXXX are to be relocated to Site 12-A, isolated and observed.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a collection of standard printer paper collected by a single hole punched in the upper left corner and secured by a large metal ring. The ring has no describable catch or hinge. The ring's composition is composed primarily of iron and zinc with traces of aluminum and calcium. Less than 1% remains unidentified. Removing pages from the ring has proven impossible as the ring cannot be opened and the paper, despite all tests showing it to be nothing more then standard office supply paper, will not separate.

The contents of SCP-XXXX are a movie script of a type identified as a 'B-movie'. It appears to be a slasher-style movie with a so far unseen antagonist who manages to kill a sizable cast of people in numerous ways, often favoring gory deaths over quicker deaths. The script is currently unfinished, estimated running time is one hour.

When a living creature (SCP-XXXX-A) comes into contact with the pages of SCP-XXXX new text appears in the script, consisting of brief description of the individual. The text then records each action taken with a 0.2 second delay. SCP-XXXX-A will then begin exhibiting behaviors consistent with those found in other works of similar style and tone. The behavior of SCP-XXXX-A will become increasingly erratic and poor until they are found deceased. The tone of writing is maintained throughout the script regardless of who is the current focus. Experiments as to the effect different individuals have on the script are on going. All experiments with SCP-XXXX are suspended until further notice due to concerns over the lack of antagonist. See Addendum XXXX-01.

Excerpt from SCP-XXXX

QUICK CUT

INT. APARTMENT – AFTERNOON
A small dirty apartment located in midtown Chicago. The freshly slain corpse of a man occupies the majority of the floor. Blood splatters cover much of the room.

REBECCA, blonde mid-20s dressed in PJs stands in the room. One hand resting on an open script. She is reading the text, face going pale as she reads the description of the death of the man in the room.

REBECCA
What the fuck? This thing is recording what I'm saying, how is that even possible.

REBECCA looks around frantically then rushes for the door.

REBECCA
I have to get out of here, someone is doing something. Have to get away, can't let the cops think I killed Lenny.

REBECCA continues muttering as she rushes outside.

CUT TO

EXT. APARTMENT BUILDING – NIGHT

An empty city street in the heart of Chicago. Sporadic streetlights provide poor illumination as REBECCA exits the building and runs down the sidewalk. She turns at the end of the block and spots a police car driving down the street.

REBECCA dashes quickly into a nearby alleyway, facing the passing lights of the car. Behind her an arm emerges from the shadows holding a large bloody blade. It glints in the passing light granting REBECCA just enough time to see the reflected light, turn and scream before the blade slices her head off, a spray of blood coating the walls of the alley.

END SCENE

Addendum XXXX-01: It has been brought to the attention of the research team that the villain in movies following this style of writing are often brought back from the dead for a sequel with little to no explanation and are unstoppable at least to the characters in the movie. Such creatures are also often able to travel into and out of otherwise secured rooms. Such creatures often break the laws of the universe as have been defined to allow the series to continue. It is for these reasons as well as the apparent lack of a current villain in the script that further experiments with SCP-XXXX have been suspended and it has been requested the object classification be upgraded to Euclid.

Request denied. Further experiments are suspended until further notice.
