SCP-XXXX-2 Seeds inside Site 56. |
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: A perimeter surrounding SCP-XXXX has been set up, and can only be entered through Site 56. Security posts are to be positioned every 50 meters along the top of the perimeter wall, each one manned by two security officers and a single M2 Browning heavy machine gun. No personnel are to exit the thirty meter buffer zone in to SCP-XXXX. Recon Team Alpha is responsible for any and all explorations inside of SCP-XXXX.
Any and all tests relating to SCP-XXXX and its contents are to be approved by Site Director ███████. Absolutely no seeds are to be brought in to Site 56. Any instances of plants similar to those inside SCP-XXXX are to be destroyed. A backdrop made of concrete is to be constructed underneath the perimeter to prevent any burrowing.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a 4 square kilometer area of forest land in ██████████, Iceland. SCP-XXXX was discovered when a wildlife conservation group noted the presence of grass composed mainly of muscle fibers. After this event, the group went missing. Local authorities found the remains of the group, heavily damaged and covered in an unknown green substance. The Foundation was alerted by the Icelandic Government, and a perimeter immediately established.
SCP-XXXX operates as an non-anomalous forest, with the exception that plant matter is constructed of animal cells and vice versa. The manner in which the wildlife retains sentience and locomotion in this form is currently unknown. SCP-XXXX-1 are labeled as the animals inside of SCP-XXXX, and SCP-XXXX-2 are the different plants.
Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 remain animate long after ordinary animals would be incapacitated, and are only neutralized after suffering severe bodily trauma. SCP-XXXX-2 are structurally unstable. It is theorized that SCP-XXXX use photosynthesis as an energy source, making heterotrophism. SCP-XXXX-2 are decomposers, and will consume any dead matter using small limbs. These limbs will slowly take the organism underground, which feed all SCP-XXXX-2 instances in the area.
SCP-XXXX has also been shown to create a copy of any organism, or it's parts, that are inside SCP-XXXX. These parts will grow from the individual branches of SCP-XXXX-2 trees, and will then fall to the ground. These parts are considered "seeds". These seeds have consisted of eyeballs, noses, fingers and currently unidentified body parts. It is theorized that SCP-XXXX-2 trees copy any flesh exposed to SCP-XXXX-2 instances.
Exploratory Logs: Two exploration logs have been conducted inside of SCP-XXXX. .
This exploration consisted of 6 members of Recon Team Alpha as a "first contact" mission.
Control: Alpha, do you copy?
Alpha A: We hear you control. Standing at the edge of a field of SCP-XXXX-2.
Control: Your mission is to get as far as you can in to SCP-XXXX.
Alpha A: We'll head in there, Control.
Alpha crossed the buffer zone made of SCP-XXXX-2. The "grass" was composed of muscle fibers. Unknown movement was recorded at 4:21.
Alpha 3 Hey, uh, Control? We just saw something here.
Control: Can you describe the appearance?
Alpha 3: Kinda thin, fast too. I thought I saw something on its head, though.
Control: It's most likely just an elk SCP-XXXX-1. Keep going, Delta 3.
Alpha 1: Copy that Control.
Alpha team entered the forest area. Alpha team recorded that the trees were constructed of bones, and an unknown sap. Sample was taken from tree. Alpha 4 tripped and fell on to a bush made of SCP-XXXX-2.
Alpha 4: Shit, that hurt! Help me up, man.
Control: Can you describe what the bush was made of?
Alpha 4: I don't fucking know, bone shards maybe? Thin vines, too.
Control: Take a sample, please.
Alpha 4 cut a small "branch" from the bush. 13 minutes in to the log, Alpha team encountered a small river.
Alpha 2: Dude, that water smells terrible.
Alpha 1: I don't think that's water man. Control? We're at a green river… smells awful, it's not making a big sound either. You copy?
Control: We see it, Alpha 1. Take a sample please.
Alpha 1: But what is it made of?
Control: Most likely bile, if we had to make a guess. Keep going.
Alpha 1 took a small sample of the liquid. Alpha 5 vomited during the procedure. Alpha team was commanded to return to Site 56. At 22:18 minutes, a SCP-XXXX-1 instance was seen.
Alpha 5: Is that a badger?
Alpha 6: Doesn't look like one. It's all… planty.
Control: Planty?
Alpha 6: I dunno, it kinda looks like it's made of vines.
Control: Do you think you can capture it?
Alpha 1: Negative control, we're about twenty meters away. It'll see us.
Control: Copy that. Get back down here.
Delta successfully returned to Site 56 with no injuries. The bush that Delta-D fell in was confirmed to be made of nerve cells and bone shards, tree sap was composed of bone marrow. Water taken from the river was confirmed to be bile.
This exploration was carried out underneath Site 56, after reports of several SCP-XXXX-1 instances burrowing underneath. The security team successfully eliminated said SCP-XXXX-1 instances, and were told to follow the tunnel made.
ST-1: Control, all SCP-XXXX-1 instances have been terminated. Any additional orders?
Control: Follow the path made by the SCP-XXXX-1 instances.
ST-1: Copy that.
Security team hit the aforementioned SCP-XXXX-2 field seen in log Alpha.
ST-2: Dude, the fuck is that coming from the ceiling?
ST-1: Control, we have some weird liquid dripping from the top of this tunnel.
Control: Noted. Continue on.
ST-3: This stuff is boring holes in the ground…
ST-1: Control, we think it would be best if we returned. Ground looks unstable.
Control: Request denied, security team. Keep going.
Security team found themselves underneath a small hole looking up a to tree of SCP-XXXX-2.
ST-4: Are those… seeds? Jesus they smell.
Control: Say again, ST four?
ST-4: Uh… they look kinda like eyeballs.
Control: Can you take a sample?
ST-4: I can try…
ST-4 attempted to pick up the SCP-XXXX-2 seed using a reach arm extension tool. Upon making contact, the seed burst and sprayed a form of acid in to ST-4's eyes.
ST-4: (Yelling) What the hell?
ST-1: Roy, you okay?
ST-4: Do I look okay? Jesus!
Control: Can you see?
ST-4: No! I can't see a damn th-
ST-4 began vomiting at this point. ST-4 also began profusely bleeding from his eyes.
Control: Security team, get out of there!
ST-4 collapsed to the ground. Subjects skin visibly became brown in coloration, taking on a tree bark appearance. Security team was successfully recovered.
As of Exploration 02, further explorations have been suspended until proper equipment can prevent these seeds from effecting our personnel. We can't risk anyone else in there.
-Site Director ███████
Update 1: Recently, after Exploration 02, many trees have begun growing small fruits identical to human organs. So far, noses, male genitalia and feet have been discovered. An entire [DATA EXPUNGED] was discovered, and was subsequently destroyed.
Addendum 1: A missive from Doctor Isabel to all personnel at Site 56.
I have been made aware that humanoid SCP-XXXX-1 instances have been seen, and recorded. While I understand this is extremely unsettling (especially to myself) to see former comrades in there, I must remind you that these things are not your friends. They are SCP-XXXX-1 instances, and nothing more. I've made sure that anyone seeking to help these… things are reassigned ASAP.
Even me.
I lost my husband to that fucking forest.
- Doctor Isabella.
Addendum 2:
This makeshift note was found outside of Site 56, fashioned on a leaf composed of SCP-XXXX-2. Wording has not been changed.
Iza Bel I mis u
com bak I c u in thu window
y wunt u sev me
pleez
Roi
Leaf was found to be composed of skin cells. It is currently unknown how the SCP-XXXX-1 instance could write on such thin material.
Update 2: On ██/█/04, Dr. Isabella was found missing from her room. A small note found read that she was attempting to find "Roy". Current manhunts are underway to find Dr. Reynolds.
Update 3: SCP-XXXX-2 instances have begun growing female genitalia. All manhunts to find Dr. Reynolds have been suspended indefinitely. Dr. Berthold has taken the job of the main doctor in the Biology wing.
