Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: The two current instances of SCP-XXXX are to be contained together in a standard humanoid containment cell. The walls surrounding the cell should be hollow, with the hollow space being filled with a thin sheet of SCP-148 (Telekill Alloy). Despite being the same consciousness, biologically these are two seperate people and amenities must be destributed as such.

To help prevent containment breaches, SCP-XXXX is to be monitored constantly by the security cameras, and remotely lockable doors are to be installed in all nearby hallways. If one wishes to enter SCP-XXXX's cell for any reason, an Class D personell must enter and SCP-XXXX will be directed to assimilate them. Once SCP-XXXX's control of the personell is sufficiently proven, entry is permitted.

In the event of a containment breach, MTF-Upsilon-4 ("Sugar Pill") is to be dispatched immediately, with the hallways nearby undergoing a lockdown of all doors to inhibit and slow down the spread of SCP-XXXX. Any hallways near the locked doors are to be vacated.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a collective consciousness with the ability to assimilate any human being within a ten meter radius of any of its instances. 'Anti-meme' substances such as Telekill Alloy have been shown to block assimilation, as well as communication between assimilated specimens. The proccess of assimilation appears to begin with instant control of the victim, followed by a period in which their personality and memories are 'processed' by SCP-XXXX. This process takes around ten minutes, and can take more for people who have accumulated more memories. SCP-XXXX is unable to assimilate others for the duration of this process.

Once a being is assimilated by SCP-XXXX, the collective gains the being's knowledge and personality and integrates it with the rest. If an assimilated being is killed, SCP-XXXX has been shown to lose this knowledge. Biologically, assimilated humans are the exact same as non-assimilated humans. However, increased neural activity in all assimilated beings can be read if SCP-XXXX is given a task requiring a large amount of brainpower.

Addendum XXXX-01: Discovery, date expunged
SCP-XXXX was first discovered after reports were filed of a small town in ███████ acting increasingly strange. These reports detailed a complete lack of talking in the town, along with the disappearance of anyone who visited. After the Foundation investigated the matter, it was discovered that the townsfolk were acting as a hive mind. After [DATA EXPUNGED] and four Foundation personnel casualties, the two remaining hivemind members were swiftly taken into custody.

Addendum XXXX-02: Interview conducted with SCP-XXXX-2 on ██/██/2014

Agent ███: Please state your name, for the record.

SCP-XXXX-2: Individual, Collective, or Foundation?

Agent ███: You gave your collective a name?

SCP-XXXX-2: Yes. As a collective, I call myself ██████████.

[Agent ███ writes in notebook]

Agent ███: Where did you come from?

SCP-XXXX-2: I do not remember. I had most of my memories with this one person, who ended up dying. I really liked this person.

Agent ███: So you can get more attatched with some people then others? Interesting.

Agent ███: Are you aware of the process of which you use to assimilate beings?

SCP-XXXX-2: I do not think fondly of the term 'assimilate'. Assimilation means one person loses their identity. When one joins me, our identities merge.

Agent ███: Call it what you wish, but are you aware of the process?

SCP-XXXX-2: Once one becomes a member of my collective, their knowledge, personality, and brainpower is merged with everyone else's. You could say that as I grow bigger, I get smarter.

Agent ███: So if I were to ask you, say… 85 divided by 5, you could answer it twice as fast?

[There is a pause for two seconds]

SCP-XXXX-2: Yes, it's 17.

Agent ███: Interesting.
