SCP-000

Item #: SCP-000

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-000 is to be stored in a 1m x 1m x 1m stainless steel chest with a keycode locking mechanism, the designated code being 402841725. This chest itself is to be located in the exact center of a vault 15 meters in length and width and 4 meters in height. The door of the vault is to be opened via the vault handle on the door.
Should SCP-000 need to be tested on, approval is required from Dr. Ving. SCP-000 is then to be transported in its keycode chest. If transportation will take more than two hours, then it is necessary for SCP-000 to be transported within its vault. In any situation which researchers must remove SCP-000 from its vault and chest to experiment on, then all personnel not being used for the experiment must refrain from looking at SCP-000, and four armed guards must be at the site.

Description: SCP-000 is a manhole cover 1 meter in diameter, 10 cm in thickness, and 55 kg in weight. The top side appears to be made of old, rusted iron and is carved decoratively. The bottom side looks to be an opening to an unlit cylindrical tunnel with two 90 degree turns at the end’s left and right. SCP-000 displays an impossible property of being “bigger on the inside than on the outside”, as there appears to be an infinite number of tunnels, with each tunnel being 10 meters long and having either 1, 2, or 3 different directions to take on each end.

The basis for SCP-000 being euclid is its psychological properties. Upon looking at SCP-000, the observer is instantly filled with a desire to go in it and explore. However, this effect is fairly weak and can be countered by knowing the full effect of SCP-000, having extreme claustrophobia, or simply looking and walking away from SCP-000. However, if the observer looks at SCP-000 for more than 20 seconds, the desire to enter it becomes much stronger and appears to be equal to the desire for heroin that extreme addicts undergo. This state can still be left if the observer is forcefully dragged away from contact with SCP-000 for at least 5 days. If the observer looks directly at SCP-000 for more than 40 seconds, the effect becomes permanent, and the observer will put exploring SCP-000 above all other priorities. If, at any point during this cycle, the observer enters SCP-000, then SCP-000 will assume full control and force the subject to crawl on their hands and knees through the tunnels, randomly deciding turns to take, for an extended period of time. The amount of time varies greatly from subject to subject and appears to be decided based on how long it takes to completely disorientate the subject. However, if the subject cannot be disoriented, then SCP-000 will control them until they are exhausted half to death. In fact, SCP-000 only appears to take control for the amount of time it takes until the subject has no hope of escaping, at which point it completely releases any psychological manipulative properties it had on the host. At this point in time, the subject usually wanders around looking for the exit, in the meantime they often cry, scream, give up, or attempt to hurt themselves’. All of these reactions, however, have been observed to be natural.
(don't bother vandalizing, I have a back up of this on google docs)
