Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: For testing purposes, SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a room of at least 5m x 5m in size. A clearance level of atleast 2 is required to access SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX itself is covered by a 15cm x 15cm glass dome, locked with a 4 digit code keypad. Personnel who have been affected by SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties are to be giving a mental examination and undergo therapy in case of sudden side effects.

Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a common light switch. SCP-XXXX can be easily dismantled and removed from a wall and relocated, however no circuitry or electrical source is needed for SCP-XXXX to function. Any other system that can control the status of light in the same room as SCP-XXXX will be unable to function. SCP-XXXX will not function if there is only one living human being within the room it is currently in, as flipping its switch will not control the lighting systems in the room.

SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties will activate if 2 or more individuals are present in the same room that SCP-XXXX is located in, and it is flipped to the off position. When in the off position, the entirety of the room and its contents become impossible to view, and will instead be perceived as a pitch black area, both from the human eye and any video recordings. Any attempts to contact the individuals in the room's current state will lead to no response. Approximately 1 to 3 minutes after SCP-XXXX has been flipped to the off position, visibility will return. The room becomes an instance of SCP-XXXX-1, and the individuals becoming instances of SCP-XXXX-2.

SCP-XXXX-1 will have changed its appearance to match the interior of a business or establishment, having a variety of object to match the correlating building interior. Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 will appear in different positions and dressed in apparel depending on the state and appearance of SCP-XXXX-1. Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 communicate and interact to eachover clearly and swiftly, regardless of their original relationships. Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 appear to 'play out a scenario,' taking the roles of individuals who specializes in a profession. Instances of SCP-XXXX-2's actions and behavior are greatly changed to fit their role, usually having no connection to their previous identity. Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 will continue to communicate with each over and interact with the objects within SCP-XXXX-1 for around 5 to 10 minutes, before SCP-XXXX-1 once again becomes pitch black. SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties will repeat 2 to 3 times, causing any individuals under the effects of SCP-XXXX to remain instances of SCP-XXXX-2, and the room remaining an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 until the anomalous effects reside.

Once the anomalous effects of SCP-XXXX have ceased, SCP-XXXX-1 will become pitch black again for approximately 1 minute, then becoming visible again. The room will return to its original state, any traces of manifested objects disappearing. Individuals that were under the effects of SCP-XXXX will retain their original clothes prior to the anomalous effects. Individuals appear to be unconscious, and sprawled out upon the ground. When asked about their experience with SCP-XXXX, individuals seem to have no memory of any behavior or actions they performed during the effects of SCP-XXXX.

Test A-2 - 7/2/20██

Subjects: 2 male D-class personnel (referred to as D-1 and D-2 for testing)
Procedure: Subjects were instructed to flip SCP-XXXX to the 'off position.' Repeated effects of SCP-XXXX will be referred to as "Scenarios," for testing purposes

Scenario 1: Numerous charts containing diagrams and facts about the human eye appeared on the walls of SCP-XXXX's cell. A ceramic sink has appeared in the corner of the room, followed by a table with numerous medical equipment on top of it.
The lights of SCP-XXXX's cell have been dimmed, but still allows visibility. D-1 appears sitting on a reclined medical chair, wearing an unbranded blue cotton t-shirt and jeans. D-2 is standing infront of D-1, wearing a white lab coat, and glasses. D-2 is holding a ophthalmoscope in his left arm, using it to examine D-1's eyes, which are wide open. D-2 proceeds to command D-1 to alternate between opening his left and right eyes. After 2 minutes, D-2 walks to the table and proceeds to organize the tools presenting, putting the ophthalmoscope down and picking up a small plastic bottle, presumed to be eye drops. D-2 shows the bottle to D-1 and begins to discuss its contents with him, then proceeding to shake hands. SCP-XXXX's cell goes black again.

Aftermath: D-1 and D-2 lay unconscious on the floor. Neither have had any recollection of interacting with eachover as monitored.
