Item #: SCP-XXXX

SCP.jpg

An image of SCP-XXXX, securely taken via drone.

Object class:Euclid

Special containment procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be isolated in a cell of 4x4x4 metres. The chamber must be airtight to contain SCP-XXXX’s pheromone release. At no given moment, aside from transportation and inquiries, is SCP-XXXX to be interacted with both verbally or physically. During transportation, six armed staff are to manoeuvre SCP-XXXX onto a lifting trolley. An additional psychiatrist is to monitor those who come into contact with SCP-XXXX for behavioural changes. All staff must be equipped with hazmat suits. If any changes occur, this must be reported to the nearest figure of authority, resulting in a site lock down and evacuation of staff, objects and other entities until further notice. If the behavioural changes are reported to be caused by SCP-XXXX, a negotiator is to be enlisted to reason with the object. Radiation detectors are to be positioned around the outer walls of the cell, constantly monitored for fluctuation. The current ratings in use are listed in Revision #2.

Description: SCP-XXXX was originally detained from [REDACTED] Hotel, before the building was demolished by the government. Originally, reports of drastic behavioural changes arose; this was believed to be caused by the object after the Hotel manager finalized his 'process of elimination'. The manager, until the Foundation arrived, remained adamant that the object was spiritually possessed1 The anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX were further discovered following six failed attempts to relocated the object to the Foundation (see addenda A1).
SCP-XXXX is a standard unbranded piano, constructed of recognizable oak wood material. It is currently unknown if SCP-XXXX retains its original function; personnel have been unable to safely approach the object.
SCP-XXXX is sentient, maintaining a hostile and vulgar disposition towards all beings capable of perceiving feelings, often referring to them as ‘disposables’ during inquiries. SCP-XXXX is reported to constantly mutter incoherent lines concerning its ‘theory’.
SCP-XXXX has proven to be sadistic, indulging itself in the suffering of sentient life forms. The object commonly inflicts barbaric actions to please itself in a discrete tactic, which has been discovered to be a form of pheromone release.
SCP-XXXX releases pheromones designated to reconditioning the basic brain functions of other beings in the vicinity, instantly gaining control of said victim. The process is expedited by triggering a drastic fall in hypocretin production, causing instant narcolepsy to the victim- ergo lowering the victim’s resistance to SCP-XXXX’s pheromones. Five minutes after the loss of consciousness, the victim (hereon referred to as SCP-XXXX-01) is sent into a ‘sleep paralysed’ state. The object is then able to command SCP-XXXX-01's body at will, though the consciousness of the object itself is not transferred into the victim. SCP-XXXX-01 will then proceed to extirpate all sentient beings as possible, until measures are taken to terminate SCP-XXXX-01's spree.
Tests indicate that SCP-XXXX can remain in control of SCP-XXXX-01 at 87% cranial damage. Any wounds inflicted on the torso or limbs of SCP-XXXX-01 are believed to only hinder SCP-XXXX’s advancement. A common tactic to halt SCP-XXXX-01 is to deliver a shot through the motor cortex, rendering SCP-XXXX-01 immobile. However, this is not recommended as SCP-XXXX’s dispersed pheromones will still be active. The body is to swiftly disposed of via incineration, only after SCP-XXXX-01 is left for two hours. Negotiations have proved to have a one in fifty success rate, and may span over six hours at a time, with no break intervals, however are the least hazardous operations to control SCP-XXXX-01's movement.
Heat screening of the object shows no signs of common vital organs, or a central/peripheral nervous system. Due to this, the source of SCP-XXXX’s pheromones is unknown.
