Manor of Mayhem (SCP Draft)

Item #: SCP-XXXX “Manor of Mayhem”

Object Class: Euclid Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX should be contained within a 30’ X 30’ X 27’ chamber. Floodlights emitting 1,600 lumens or higher are required to stay on in the object’s cell at all times. In the case of an emergency, 2 backup generators are to be kept within close proximity of SCP-XXXX’s chamber. Light replacement must be overseen by 4 or more guards.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a walk-through carnival dark ride constructed from an 18’ X 3’ X 4’ mobile trailer; however, its fold-up façade gives the object a larger appearance. The precise inner dimensions of SCP-XXXX have not yet been calculated, but are believed to be greater in size. Various illustrations depicting a “haunted house” themed scene with different characters cover the object’s frontage. When under little to no light, these illustrated characters can materialize beyond the façade into physical entities (these beings are exceedingly hostile towards Foundation personnel). Above the entry and exit doorways of SCP-XXXX are the words “Manor of Mayhem”. The interior is made up of different areas that the Foundation have numbered into “sections”:

• The first section inside SCP-XXXX consists of pitch-black, narrow corridors with many motion-activated sirens. At the end of the first hallway is a mechanical prop inside a glass case. Subjects refer to it as “the butler”. When a subject approaches this prop, a dim, violet light below will illuminate the case. After this point, the prop will begin to speak via a sound box, synchronized with its jaw movements. The phrases vary, although the prop always ends by warning subjects of a “forthcoming danger”.

• The second section of SCP-XXXX is made up of similar corridors, although many of the walls exhibit alcoves with non-mechanical props inside. After walking a few meters through this area of SCP-XXXX, subjects report feeling acute paranoia, fatigue, and confusion. At the end of the final passageway in this section, another mechanical prop is displayed through a glass case; this one resembles a vampire. Once approached, a red light will irradiate the prop. However, unlike the previous one, this mechanical prop will turn its head both ways before a loud siren is activated. During this point, subjects become severely nauseated and begin to vomit blood.

• The third section of SCP-XXXX is more elaborate, consisting of larger interconnected hallways and rooms with antique furniture bolted to the floor. There are no sirens or mechanical props in this area.

• The forth section of SCP-XXXX can be accessed via a narrow stairwell, beyond which is a maze of unilluminated passageways. Within this area of SCP-XXXX, subjects report being stalked and assaulted by an unseen presence. In some circumstances, deaths have occurred, with victims losing up to 90% of their bodily fluids. There is currently no explanation as to what causes their extreme desiccation.

• The fifth section of SCP-XXXX consists of more furnished corridors; however, unlike section 3, there are windows, behind which exists an observable landscape. It is believed by the Foundation that this unfamiliar land is of a separate reality. What lies beyond the fifth section of SCP-XXXX is currently unknown, as all subjects to have reached this section have been killed.

Addendum-01: SCP-XXXX was secured at the ████ County Fair in ███████, Illinois on 8/30/2007. 12 patrons, 7 carnival employees, and 4 deputy sheriffs disappeared after entering a ride found on the premises entitled “Manor of Mayhem”; the fair was consequently shut down. The Foundation was immediately contacted by authorities once the potential anomaly and threat was recognized. Upon arriving that evening, Foundation task force officers were led to the object by police. When questioned, many employees of ████████ Amusements, Inc. remarked on the ride, stating that they had never seen it before and assumed it was a new addition to the carnival. Interestingly enough, no employee could recall setting up the ride the day prior to the fair’s opening.

While task force officers were inspecting SCP-XXXX, a power outage blacked out the entire region. Furthermore, additional power generators owned by the carnival would not operate, despite having been inspected several times that day. During this complete loss of power, SCP-XXXX was still fully functioning. After 16 task force officers left to retrieve their vehicles with adequate lighting mounted to the top, several of the painted illustrations on the ride’s frontage began to emerge into physical, 3-dimensional entities. These unknown beings were incredibly violent, killing the 7 of the 8 remaining task force officers. The surviving officer underwent severe and permanent psychological trauma. Once the other 16 task force officers returned with their vehicles, the entities were distraught by the bright lighting and returned to their areas on the painted façade. The officer who suffered from acute mental distress has been interviewed by a Foundation psychiatrist. This interview can be found below in this document.

Interviewed: █████ ██████ (Former Task Force Officer)

Interviewer: Doctor ██████

Foreword: Dr. ██████ conducted an interview session with █████ ██████, who has still shown no improvement since his encounter with SCP-XXXX. Noteworthy information obtained from █████ ██████ has caused the Foundation to change SCP-XXXX’s initial Euclid class to Keter.

Doctor █████████: Hello, █████. I have come to ask you a few questions, do you mind?
█████ ██████: No.
Doctor █████████: Very good. I understand that you are afraid. I understand that your fear has progressively worsened. But I am here to help you through it. Your family still loves you. They miss you very much. Now, you must work with me if you are to get through this, okay?
█████ ██████: Okay.
Doctor █████████: Let us start back from the beginning of this. What happened the evening of August 30th, 2007?
█████ ██████: It came.
Doctor █████████: What came?
█████ ██████: I saw the end.
Doctor █████████: The end of what?
█████ ██████: The end.
Doctor █████████: How did you see the end?
█████ ██████: They showed me.
Doctor █████████: Who?
█████ ██████: God—I saw their faces—they looked at me—they spared me to convey the message.
Doctor █████████: What message?
█████ ██████: They revealed to me truth. They will break through one day and establish it—forever. [█████ ██████ starts to cry]
Doctor █████████: It’s alright, █████. You have nothing to fear—SCP-XXXX has been contained.
█████ ██████: You never saw what I saw—they touched my head, and I saw their perverseness. They have done this before in other places. They will do it again here.
Doctor █████████: I will discuss this with the foundation.

[After this, █████ ██████ began physically attacking Dr. █████████ and was subdued by Foundation personnel.]
