1.

Name: Corpse flies

Classification: SCP

Item #: XXXX

Special Containment Procedures: Because of SCP-XXXX's uncanny resemblance to a common housefly, instances are extremely difficult to locate and contain. Therefore, instances can only be contained when a case of SCP-XXXX is reported. Instances are to be thoroughly studied, and then terminated.

When studying an instance, they are to be kept in specialized vacuum-sealed lockers within Bio-Site 66. The instances do not seem to leave the host, even in death, therefore infected D-Class are permitted to stay in their normal cell. Upon death the body containing the instances is to be incinerated.

Any personnel approaching the affected body are to wear biohazard resistant suits at all times until incineration is complete.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a species of insect resembling Musca Domestica (Common Housefly). Instances are always seen around the bodies of dead animals, in groups as large as 500 instances. These instances do not appear to eat the body, but instead use it as a nest.

The instances seem to possess a preservative in their bite, which explains why corpses instances are discovered in appear not to decay any further. Instances do not appear to leave the body unless another living subject is present, in this case, they will leave the previous host, and burrow inside the new desired host.

SCP-XXXX, for reasons unknown, has entirely different behavior towards human subjects. Instead of waiting for the host to expire themselves, the instance will release a fluid from its mouth once inside the victim. This fluid causes the victim to completely decay, until bone is the only thing left of the subject.

The instance will then lay its eggs, without mating. These eggs hatch immediately, instances coming from the eggs appear to be fully matured. The new instances will then completely cover the subjects bones, and remain still until another subject enters the vicinity.
