Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a secure non-electrical safe located on the second floor of Site 42, inside storage room 11. SCP-XXXX can only be handled and transported by Class C personnel or higher, whilst authorized D Class personnel or higher may interact with the anomaly. Unauthorized personnel are prohibited from opening, seeing, or attempting to take apart the contents of SCP-XXXX. Any unauthorized personnel who attempt this act will be punished. In the case of a Containment Breach, either by the fault of SCP-3322 or by the hands of another subject, SCP-XXXX is to be kept locked in its safe at all times during the incident.

SCP-XXX must not be placed on or near cell doors, computers, or the generators at any time for any reason. Due to its erratic nature, the entity must have careful supervision while near an operational machine. Personnel who wish to interact with the entity must clearly state to Reasearcher Evans before opening the safe of said anomaly. Personnel must also remove any cellular phone or electrical addition on them before entering said storage room.

Description: SCP-XXXX is what appears to be a simple dull red rectangular toolbox, measuring 19 centimetres by length, 18 centimetres by width, and 10 centimetres by height. A logo of the now bankrupt company, TriWheel, can be seen on the top and bottom of the case. SInce its discovery in the year ████, SCP-XXXX has seen its dry paint chip off faster every year since its containment, despite the constant maintainence of D and C Class Personnel.

SCP-XXXX first was owned by a former mechanic named Sire, who deemed SCP-XXXX his "Lucky Box". While TriWheel was still in operation, SCP-XXXX was in an 'Inactive' state where it behaved normally. According to Mr. Smith, it was only when TriWheel went bankrupt due to no buisness on the date of ████ did SCP-XXXX enter its constant "Active" state. The mechanic suddenly found his electrical box short-curcuiting and his car breaking down at a unnatural speed, at a much more constant rate then normal. Only when Sire fell ill and died of pheumonia at the age of 68 on the year ████ did it enter a short state of inactivity.

SCP-XXXX was passed from father to son through Sire's will, onto his son Mr. Smith. Only when the anomaly was placed on a low shelf in Mr. Smiths garage did SCP-XXXX spontaneously enter a state of hostile activity. Within a few days, Mr. Smith discovered that his automobile was in an anomalously damaged state, with the engine being dragged out and it's seperate parts strewn about the area of the garage. A single surveillance camera shows a few minutes of visual interruption, in which Smith could hear metal being pulled apart. Confused and scared, while Mr. Smith sent his car to be rebuilt, he posted on his social medias about the odd situation that had arisen. soon enough, SCP-XXXX was doing such damage to his electrical appliances at such a regular rate that Mr. Smith dedicated a seperate page on Facebook to post updates on the situations. Oddly, Mr. Smith somehow correctly put the blame on SCP-XXXX for the odd occurrences within his garage and soon his home.

The page, now taken down from social media, attracted the attention of over 5000 Facebook members. They shared the posts and commented, sparking curiosity and debate on if it was real or not. Soon enough, after the page had been viewed over 15000 times, it attracted the attention of Researcher Evans, who immediately called for containment the entity.

The Foundation responded almost immediately, and after a careful investigation, took SCP-XXXX away from the garage. Mr. Smith was taking in for questioning, in which he confirmed that the toolbox was in the affected area for as long as the anomalous effects were happening. After this breif questioning period, Mr. Smith was given Class B Amneistics and sent back to his home. An C Class employee took down the Facebook Page, and put out a public post that said the recordings of the anomaly were in fact just a mere hoax.

SCP-XXXX was first contained at Site ██ where it stayed for almost ██ years. During this time, SCP-XXXX was classified as an 'Euclid' entity. In the first instance of SCP-XXXX causing harm to personnel was on the date of July 5th, [DATA REDACTED]. A mechanic who was doing a routine check of SCP-XXXX's holding safe momentarily put the entity on the floor next to the similar, non-anomalous toolbox. The mechanic had then forgotten which box was the entity, and had taken SCP-XXXX with him. Unfortunately, the mechanic then headed to check the controleplayers panel of the containment chamber of a Keter-level SCP, resulting in SCP-XXXX soon revealing it's abilities and short circuiting the door system and light fixtures, bringing panic as to if a Containment Breach was possible. Eventually, the electrical system was fixed, and SCP-XXXX was brought back to its containment safe.

Afterwards, it was agreed that SCP-XXXX would be taken to the more secure facility of Site 42, where Director Sherm approved the movement. On the date of February 3, [DATA REDACTED], SCP-XXXX was transported in a secure 18-wheeler to the facility, along with other normal supplies. SCP-XXXX has stayed at Site 42 ever since, with no other form of dangerous activity being associated with SCP-XXXX. Due to this, this anomaly is now classified as Safe.

Addendum: Recovered Interview Between Scientist ████ and Mr. Smith at the time of SCP-XXXX's discovery, concerning SCP-XXXX's anomalistic abilities.

Interviewed: Mr. Smith, son of Sire Smith

Interviewer: Scientist ████

Foreword: Mr. Smith was escorted into the interview room by two guards, obviously disheveled. Scientist ████ sat at a lone table, clipboard in hand. Mr Smith sat down at the other end of the table.

<Begin Log>

Scientist ████: Hello, Mr. Smith. Do not comment on what is probably your reluctance to be here. Once you tell us the information we want to know, you will be escorted to your residence promptly.

Mr. Smith: Well, it better be. I don't want to miss too many days of work.

Scientist ████: Ok then, we'll keep that in mind. First question; how did you first find yourself in possession of SCP-XXXX?
Mr. Smith: I got it when my father passed away. The skip, whatever you call it, was just sent to my house a few days after the funeral. It seemed like a normal toolbox at the time.
Scientist ████: Hmm, interesting. Second question; what happened the first time SCP-XXXX's abilities became apparent to you?
Mr. Smith: Well, I was at the far end of my house, away from the garage. I heard some faint metallic sounds, but didn't mind it. Then, there was a loud slamming sound, then silence. I went to investigate.
Scientist ████: And what did you see, exactly? Please give details.
Mr. Smith: It was bad. My cars hood was ripped straight off. My engine was completely removed, with all its parts disassembled and strewn all about inside my car and around my garage. Both of the cars headlights were popped off, and it turned out that my battery somehow was done and that my radio and all the electronics inside my car was fried.
Scientist ████: How did you deduct that SCP-XXXX was the case for concern, even though you had no prior knowledge of skips?
Mr. Smith: You see, I had a single security camera left in a corner of the garage, for security reasons. I took the tape after I saw my car and watched it to see if anything was off. At first, everything was normal. Then, the camera had static for a second, and then my father's toolbox was in front of the car, just sitting there. Then, the camera cut out, and all I could hear for the next ten minutes in the recording or so was just metal being pulled apart and a weird, really quiet distorted speech. After a while, the video cut back to the car being wreaked and the toolbox back in its place, as if nothing happened.
Scientist ████: Well, that certainly sounds odd. Third question; Why did you set up that social media page, just to commentate about the actions of SCP-XXXX?
*Mr. Smith:** To be honest, I don't really know. I only decided to make it when I was at the point of having to fix my wires every other night and constantly check on my garage to make sure that the lights weren't freaking out again. I thought I could be one of those odd pages, like that youtube page myth "666". I didn't realize it would spread that quickly.
Scientist ████: Well, Mr. Smith. That seems to be the end of our interview. The guards will now escort you away.

<End Log>

Closing Statement: After the interview, Mr. Smith was amneistitized and taken back to his residence. Scientist ████ gave her notes over to Reasearcher Evans, who made a digital copy located in Sector B-32 In the archives.
