Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept on a plain office desk inside the media archive of Site-B. At least one (1) Level 2 personnel is to sit at this desk for a ten (10) hour shift. After two (2) hours another Level 2 personnel will arrive for their shift. Electronic devices, papers, and other various Site projects are allowed to be worked on while sitting next to SCP-XXXX, as long as they do not interfere with any of SCP-XXXX’s broadcasts, or the ability to listen to them. Any changes in the normal broadcasts are to be reported and recorded immediately.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a crystal radio receiver that was commonly manufactured in the 1920s. SCP-XXXX was found unbroken in the center of a smashed desk, after it had reportedly fallen from the sky next to a farm house in rural ██████. The receiver had been found by an officer at the scene and was sent to the Foundation due to the strange circumstances it was recovered in.

SCP-XXXX continuously plays an alert radio broadcast for twenty (20) hours each day, with two (2) hours of silence approximately at 12:00 A.M. and 12:00 P.M. Attempts to trace this broadcast have been unsuccessful. The broadcast produced by SCP-XXXX consists of an elderly male repeating a phrase over and over again. It is interrupted by pauses and coughing at irregular intervals, and the wording of the broadcast has been changed slightly multiple times. This rules out the possibility of the broadcast being a recording. On several occasions, the regular broadcast message has been disrupted. See Incident Logs 001, 002, and 003 for more information.
