Tehpillowstar

Item #: SCP-xxxx

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures:

Description: SCP-xxxx refers to two humanoid males, to be referred to as SCP-xxxx-1 and SCP-xxxx-2.

SCP-xxxx-1 and SCP-xxxx-2 display an anomalous cycle of behaviors by which SCP-xxxx-1 kills and consumes SCP-xxxx-2, and SCP-xxxx-2 then reanimates. When SCP-xxxx-2 reanimates, it spontaneously manifests in the location where it previously died, clothed in a black cotton t-shirt, cargo pants and white socks while being severely weakened and physically infirm. Once SCP-xxxx-2 manifests, SCP-xxxx-1's physical condition rapidly deteriorates, rapidly losing weight and experiencing accelerated aging. Conversely, SCP-xxxx-2 condition improves without the need of medical care.

As SCP-xxxx-1 weakens, it develops an obsession over SCP-xxxx-2, <more info>. After 2-3 months, SCP-xxxx-1 kills and consumes all of SCP-xxxx-2 soft tissues, after which its condition will rapidly improve. After approximately 24 hours from SCP-xxxx-2 expiring, any remains (mostly bone) disappear. For 2-6 weeks, SCP-xxxx-1 displays no anomalous behaviors until SCP-xxxx-2 re-manifests, in which the cycle begins once more.

[XX:XX] <name2> Maybe it's better if we don't meet. Cuz of the ya know.

[XX:XX] <name2> Okay. i'll be at the train station, Exit 5. Black t-shirt and cargo pants
[XX:XX] <name1> I already know what you look like.
[XX:XX] <name2> i know…but just in case?

[01:48] Tehpillowstar Anomalous cycle thing: -1 kills/incapacitates -2, consumes almost all soft tissues. -1 becomes young and strong again. -2 reappears whole sometime later, but is severely physically weaken/sick. As time passes, -1 rapidly ages and becomes weak, while -2 becomes strong. -1 becomes obsessed with the idea of killing and eating -2 to regain lost youth. -1 commits the act and the cycle restarts.

[01:52] Tehpillowstar Feels relationship: -1 and -2 were buddies. Met IRL. Became skips. -1 knows that if he doesn't kill -2, he will die, but -2 will be free from the cycle to live on as normal human. However, -1 is not ready to die, but does not want to inflict anymore pain on -2. -2 is tired of the cycle, but can't really die for good and doesn't want -1 to die, as -1 is all that he has left from his old life.
[01:53] Tehpillowstar -2 suspects even if they break the cycle the Foundation wouldn't just let him go.

Notes on Equipment

There are a number of important things to note before you go wild and spend all your hard earned XP.

  • Your character can only purchase equipment from their own department, and from Miscellaneous. If you are Personnel, you can only access Miscellaneous equipment. Any character may take from the pre-run equipment.
  • The bonuses from Equipment, with a few exceptions, only apply when they fit the situation. For example, that Laser Sight gives a +2 ranged, but if you're using another another weapon, you won't get that boost. The Biological and Chemical Materials Identification Device won't give you +5 Science unless you can RP using it in a context that makes sense. Helmets? No use if your attacker is specifically targeting your legs. Hush Puppies are not going to quiet your shots, or make it easier to pick locks. You've got to make the boost happen.
    • For this reason, it's a good idea to keep your base, unmodified stats handy. Just because you're loaded to the gills with +6 gear, doesn't mean it'll fit the situation, moneybags.
  • The things listed below are not the be-all and end-all. Don't like what you see? Maybe your Researcher wants equipment that suits their field of expertise. Or something we haven't even thought of. Maybe just a combination of two or more existing things. Depending on what it is, it might require time, some good rolls, and/or XP, but you might just be able to have your very own unique item. Feel free to talk to a member of the GM team about it.
    • This particularly applies to Research - with the huge range of disciplines covered by 'science', the best we can do is offer a small selection of pre-made items. This Department, more than any other, needs to come up with its own stuff.
    • And don't think a custom or modified item needs to be better than what's already there. It's entirely possible to buy an equivalent or a substitute to something on the list that gives a smaller bonus, has less potent effects/features or is less useful, but is cheaper. For example, an M72 LAW versus the SRAW.
  • We're always happy to take ideas for new equipment. Drop a GM a line.

Disposable multi-use gear

These activities no longer require a Sneak roll.
Psychotropic Aerosol Canister 3 N/A 1 A small pressurized canister able to dispense a short-acting barbiturate for assisting in interrogations, compliance, or the like and is applied directly to the targets breathing orifices. A maximum of 2 uses per run is permitted. A successful Melee roll of 2 is required to use this effectively. A target under the effects reduces its Mdef by half (rounded down) for 1d6 rounds or 1 hour of SoftRP NEW!
Electronic Attack Suite 4 Electronics +2 0 An expansion to the Investigation Suite, giving the user offensive capabilities. Programs include: DDoS software, file modifiers and deleters, a variety of malware insertion vectors, firewall and security penetration aids, and password crackers. Requires a Hostile Environment Laptop.

These allow the wearer to climb sheer surfaces of all types, from rock to glass. Every point of Load over 6 decreases the bonus given by 1.
De Lisle silent carbine 16 Sneak +6 when shooting 2 Based off of a 1940s design, updated versions of the carbine are manufactured in small quantities for Espionage agents who require silent firepower. Due to a highly effective integral suppressor and subsonic pistol ammunition this weapon has the distinction of being one of the quietest firearms in existence. These characteristics do however come at the cost of range and penetrating power - the De Lisle is most effective when used up close, and accurate shots beyond 100m are extremely difficult.
Stealth Suit 16 Sneak +6 1 Highly experimental full-body catsuit, constructed using prototype metamaterials. These bend light along the suit's edges when activated, rendering the wearer effectively transparent to the naked eye. The interior of the suit is lined with a highly efficient insulator, practically nullifying the user's thermal signature, but overheating is possible if the wearer exerts themselves beyond the inbuilt cooling system's ability to compensate. Camouflage does not extend to items carried outside the suit.

Hybrid Thermal/Light-Amplification Optics 20 Perception +4 in poor/no light, Perception +2 in fair light 2 Enhanced NVGs that provide vastly increased capability by incorporating image intensification and long-wave IR sensors into a single device. This thermal capability makes them useful during the day as well as at night. EDIT!
Survival course 16 Survival +6 0 A week long crash course puts theory into practice, giving selected personnel hands-on experience with survival techniques. Graduates of the course are then put through a three day exercise to test their skills - dropped into the wilderness with basic supplies and instructed to find their way back to the base camp.
Bladewood Blade 16 Melee +6 1 Made using materials from SCP-143, Bladewood weapons are inhumanly sharp and exceedingly rare.
Thrown Ceramic Blade 16 Thrown +6 1 The agent gains access to a supply of master-crafted throwing weapons, made of extremely tough sharpened ceramics, making them exceedingly lethal in the right hands.
Powered Exoskeleton 22 Strength +6, +1 Load Damage Level, PDef +2, Sneak -6 0 Highly advanced, full-body, wearable robot, based on the Raytheon XOS 2. Greatly enhances the wearer's strength, while enabling them to retain normal movement speed, agility and dexterity. Does tend to make the user rather noticeable.

Pre-Run Equipment Repository

These items are present in Area-354's sub bay, and can be taken by any character prior to a run. Note that some NPC's may also give this equipment to the poolboys, due to the environmental conditions observed by Command. Note that these items will only be possessed by your character during the run, and cannot be kept in soft rp unless noted otherwise.

Name Load Description
Gas Mask 0.5 Protects the wearer from gas- and vapour-based attacks, but also blocks their sense of smell. Not compatible with Polarising Goggles or Mufflers.
Polarising Goggles 0.5 Protects the wearer against light-based attacks, but may interfere with vision-based Perception. Not compatible with Gas Mask or Mufflers.
Mufflers 0.5 Protects the wearer against sound-based attacks, but prevent sound-based Perception rolls. Not compatible with Gas Mask or Polarising Goggles.
Sedatives 1 Once requested, a character may carry a maximum of 3 sedative injectors per run. A successful medical roll of 6 is required to affect the target, and the target must be subdued before the sedatives can be administered. Current Body is rolled in opposition, with a roll equal to or lower than max Body points resulting in sedation. Sedatives take three turns to take full effect.
Frag Grenades 1 Once purchased, a character may carry a maximum of 2 frag grenades per run. A strength roll of 6 or higher must be rolled for the grenade to go off. The grenade will inflict GM decided damage to the target and any characters within a certain range.
Tear Gas Grenades 1 Once purchased, a character may carry a maximum of 2 tear gas grenades per run. A strength roll of 6 or higher is required for the grenade to go off. The gas will choke enemies and characters within melee range, reducing any attack rolls by four, but also reduces ranged attack rolls against those enemies by two due to reduced visibility. Targets wearing gas masks or which do not breathe are not affected.
Flashbang Grenades 1 Once purchased, a character may carry a maximum of 2 flashbang grenades per run. A strength roll of 6 or higher is required for the grenade to go off. Flashbang grenades temporarily blind and deafen those within the area of effect, forcing them to skip one turn. Those with 6+ Perception must skip two turns. Enemies without eyes or ears are not affected, and those who are forewarned may roll agility to get out off the blast radius.

The Improver

The Improver (SCP-212) works on a different system than other unlockable equipment. It costs 10XP each time to use, and may only be used twice per character. When a character is subjected to the Improver they roll 1d21, corresponding to one skill on the skills list. They then roll 1d100. Depending on one number they receive, that skill will either receive a positive or negative bonus, as listed in the chart below:

#Rolled (1d20) Corresponding Skill # Rolled (1d100) Amount Added/Subtracted
1 Physical Defense 91-100 +4
2 Mental Defense 71-90 +3
3 Perception 51-70 +2
4 Agility 31-50 +1
5 Strength 21-30 No stat effects, GM effects may still occur
6 Persuasion 11-20 -1
7 Intimidation 1-10 -2
8 Bluff
9 Medical
10 Sneak
11 Science
12 Academics
13 Survival
14 Engineering
15 Electronic
16 Body
17 Mind
18 Melee Weapons
19 Ranged Weapons
20 Thrown Weapons

Note that if the stat being 'improved' is Body or Mind, changes may not surpass 10 or go under 0.

Other aspects or stat changes may be given at GM discretion. Note that the GM dictates what changes are made and are expected to give a full description. These may result in other advantages/disadvantages/characteristics being given to a character that are not purely stat based. Consider yourself at the mercy of the GM staff's collective imagination…

Knowledge

Previously, personnel could request access to Knowledge (SCP-028). However, after further evaluation, this program has been discontinued. Agents exposed to SCP-028 are not currently scheduled for mental sanitisation.

Negative Equipment

This is equipment that is bestowed upon a character for misbehaviour. The character must have these items equipped for as long as stated.

Item Stat Changes Description
Subcutaneous Tracker Negates attempts at stealth (only applies with regard to Command) A tracking chip is inserted below the character's skin, allowing Base Command to track and log their movements. In cases of sufficient import, Command may or may not grant other characters access to the tracking systems.
Brig Time N/A The character is thrown into the holding cells of Security for a set amount of time listed by the GM giving out the punishment. Whether or not the character may be visited is determined by the GM.
Writ of Disarmament N/A Characters are not allowed to have any form of firearm, bladed or blunt weapon in their possession while on-site, and are to hand all personal weaponry over to Security's Armoury; should a character be seen in possession, they are to be disarmed and given a final warning, with any following violations to be met with lethal force. Characters may be subject to random person and room searches, and will be supplied their weaponry before a mission.
